Lovely location, very helpful and kind staff and good quality rooms

Location is wonderful and with good access to other places even via foot. Lovely view and hotel, friendly staff, tasty food and comfy rooms. Can't fault the place really!!

Dropped in here after a walk around the lake. Enjoyed a lovely pint of beer and a plougmans on the outside deck looking over some nice views. Friendly staff, good food and good value for money.

Walking round the lake and stopped off for morning coffee/tea. Clean and nice environment. Food well presented. Only problem was the coffee. It looked the part but tasted awful. (Think glass flask.) You really must invest in proper coffee machine!

Fantastic hotel. Staff were fantastic and very courteous. Our room (3) was lovely with amazing views. Breakfast was fab too! Would love to return.

Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Lovely views of the surrounding landscape and well laid out seating. Food wasn't particularly good value, roast beef was very dry, tapas for two wasn't really tapas, more like nibbles. Drinks were reasonably priced.

I love this place to bits, I've been here on plenty of occasions but last night they let me down first time :( we came after a long day for the supper. The ordering time ends as far as I'm concerned at 9pm. It was 7min to 9pm and we've asked about table and our beloved Beef Bourghigvne... We have been send away hungry on the Easter Sunday... I'm so so disappointed... time never used to be an issue with the staff, last time came at 10pm and we have been offered some sandwiches as a treat after a long journey. Maybe it's because I've seen last night just new faces at the bar who might not care as the other staff who we are used to, at the Mary Mount Hotel. What a pity :( I've used to feel like second home, now... it's kind of odd... not sure what to think now, but I hope the owners will read and either enlighten me with my misunderstanding or have a chat with staff.

Stunning location on the side of derwent water, ample parking space and large grounds with easy access to the lake! Really big bar with excellent range of drinks and large out door seating area.

Great food with huge portions. I had hunters chicken with chips which had two huge chicken breasts with bacon, cheese, bbq sauce and loads of chips. Everyone's food was great and even the sandwiches on other tables looked good. There were quite a few vegetarian options.

Recommended.
