#Repost @comedinewithtas with @get_repost ・・・ - As much as I love my Full English breakfasts, this Indian/Desi breakfast was soo good! The lamb keema was so flavoursome and the masala potato’s were so yummy! I was abit sceptical about ordering this as it sounded quite oily for breakfast, but was totally worth the taste😋 The desi breakfast also comes with masala tea/coffee but you can change that for regular if you wanted. Went yesterday with my wife. We went at lunchtime and unsurprisingly it was extremely busy on a Saturday. I asked the young looking brother behind the counter how long it would be before a table where my wife and I could sit without sharing with others would be available. The brother took my number and said it would be a about 15 mins and that he would call me so we waited in the car. I expected not to get a callback so soon because it was so busy but he actually called after exactly 15 mins and we got a table for four to ourselves. In my opinion that is excellent service as most places I have been they flat out refuse to give you such a table when they can seat four paying customers instead and make more money.

The food took half an hour as I would expect from a family run place where they make all the paratha, omelettes chai etc from scratch. We ordered two desi breakfasts each one with one set of options and the second with the other and everything was just amazing. I asked for aloo paratha which wasn't on the menu and they made it to perfection. The other side's were delicious too especially the masala beans. The chai coffee is just amazingly balanced; a perfect blend of coffee milk sugar and spices.

I never really talk very highly of any place I eat out but this I can recommend hugely.

Went on Easter Sunday with 4 of my friends & a 3 year old baby, and had to go through a funny experience as it was fully packed and after an hr waiting we found a table but there was no staff instantly available who could clean the table as they were bzy serving other customers, as a courteousy i tried to clean my own table on which we were sitting i picked up the plates and went to drop them at the kitchen counter, 4 gentlemen came behind me and i asked me for a table of 4 and a promptly responded that i dont work here

I am one of the regular customers of Chai Nashta but a small suggestion would like to give please arrange an extra staff on weekends as I have always been there mostly on sundays & you are always packed... good luck!! :)

User

Went for Sunday brunch. Lovely welcome to into the restaurant and explained the menu and some items not currently on the menu but can be ordered. food arrived in good time, it was the right amount of spice for us, but if you have a low tolerance to spice then tell them or order a milkshake to go with it! Loved the scrambled eggs, and masala beans, my husband got keema and Chana which were both full of flavour and delicious. Portions were good and we left felling full and content. We finished off with Masala Chai which I have to say was amazing..I usually make my own masala chai and always order it at restaurants where they serve it, it was definitely one of the best I've tasted. Next time I will just get a pot of the tea with some biscuits a slice of cake. A couple of things that could make the experience better would be..a) have a card machine, seems to be a trend amongst some of the eateries in this area is to charge by cash, people don't always carry cash on them b) add some cakes/biscuits to the menu with tea

User

We waited almost an hour to be served and the food came one plate at a time. But what they lacked in speed the made up for in food as everything we ordered was delicious! Parathas and puris were yummy and not oily. Food was 5 stars for me. The staff are very sweet and friendly...just need to work with organising thier service

User

Really enjoyed the food; kitchen staff put in a lot of effort. Customer service also on point. Highly recommend

User

My friend treated us to breakfast and I really enjoyed the food it was yummy . After the breakfast we had a masala chai it was perfect !! Will defro go there again .

User

I’ve had couple of breakfasts here. Always tastes good, service is prompt. I visit Sunday’s, about 9.30am. Soon after, it gets packed. I’d recommend people to get in early for breakfast otherwise their maybe a little wait when it gets busy understandably.

User

Fantastic food, excellent service, coming from a business man and a Indian who’s mother is a fantastic cook!

User

Can't argue with the desi breakfast,.soft fluffy parathas, great tea, omelettes top notch and great halva. Did not try the Angrez breakfast but otherwise would recommend... need a little improvement in service etc but great potential

User

Amazing food and decor. Staff were very friendly. I loved the way it is a family run business with the sisters cooking the food, makes such a change to see sisters in a restaurant kitchen!

Between us we ate puri, keema, beans, potato, omelette, scrambled eggs and of course cheesecake! It was all delicious!

Definitely recommend it!

User

We had a lovely Sunday brunch. We ordered 2 full Eglish and 2 full Indian breakfasts. The masala coffee and masala tea were both amazing and authentic. The food tasted delicious and is of good value. The only reason for a 4 star is because the service I believe could be a lot faster. But we did really enjoy ourselves. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere lovely. We will definitely visit again.

User

This was my first visit after hearing good reviews... i was pleased with the food but the service could have been better... took a while for the food to arrive, my spicy chips arrived after we had eaten our food. my kids really liked the puri's so i thought I'd order some more and was told it will take 15 mins. Overall 5 star for the food but I'll have to give 3 star for the service

User

Had a nice Sunday brunch here, unlike most other reviews service was quick roughly took 15 minutes for the food to arrive.

They also let you swap the coffee/tea for a soft drink.

Great desi breakfast and highly recommended!

User

This place has so much potential but it's let down with a bad layout and very slow service.

The food was good, although the portions sizes could have been a bit bigger. Really enjoyed the masala tea though.

I think a bigger venue and more staff would give this place 5 stars.

If you go with a group of more than 2 then you will have a very long wait for a table and then another long wait for the food. There is also no space to sit down and wait, so you end up feeling a bit cramped and awkward watching everyone else at their tables.

User

Food is great, just a shame the staff let the place down. Apart from one member of staff (who I'm assuming was the owner), who made the effort to greet customers etc, the staff seem as though they really can't be bothered. As an example, one of them seemed like he wanted to be in bed and when he saw me heading towards the till, he darted off to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later when he noticed the only useful staff member was asking if I needed anything seeing as I had been stood there a while. Once you get your food though, you tend to forget most of that as that is the thing going for them. So in general, next to no customer service but good quality food at reasonable prices.

User

Traditional breakfast and masala tea tasted great. However, it took 1 hour for the food to arrive! Doesn't matter how good the food is if you can't handle a lot of customers then it ruins it. My advice is to not bother going at breakfast time. (also we were told we'd get a free drink due to the 1 hour delay - didn't happen surprise surprise)

User

Today I went to Chai Nashta after I heard good review from my friend. We don't wanted to order any food as we were already full. I asked the guy in the till if they serve samosas (which was not listed in the menu) and he said they have samosas. I asked if he can give me two samosas to have with chai. He said that's fine. But when he charged me the price looked bit too much for two samosas. I asked him how come the bill came £10 for 2 masala chai and two samosas? he was bit rude and said to me that 4 samosas come in 1 portion.I said don't worry just give me 2 lamb and 2 veggie samosas then.He said he will find out from chef and let me know. At no point he didn't tell me that he charged for 2 portions of samosas . Anyways after few minutes later I saw him near by their freezer section as he was taking out frozen samosas from the freezer . Looks like these samosas are not fresh at all but charged me £2.50 for frozen samosas..He come back to us few mins later and 2 portions of samosas are coming. Again I said to him I didn't order two portions, just 1 portion. his another colleague came out and explained to him everything. And he gave me back £2.50 for extra portion and said sorry. When the samosas serve to us we were really shocked. First it was frozen samosas, second samosas are small, third it was burnt and oily (see the picture). The guy who served us in the beginning he came back and again apologised for the service. I can buy same samosas from any shop's frozen counter for £5 (50 samosas) and good quality. My first experience was really horrific. To me they need to improve their staff behaviour& service, serve fresh food, and item need to be listed on the menu with full description of the portions. Masala chai was good though. I am not going back there again unless they improve their service. As per their page description food are freshly made and authentic. Frozen samosas are not fresh and it has no wow sort of taste. Please serve customers fresh and authentic food.

User

Worst customer service. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table which i dont mind. But waiting over an hour for food is unacceptable. I can only assume the people that have rated it so highly can only be friends. The food was nothing special.

Asked for water a couple of times then had to go and ask for a glass to take it to my table myself. They forgot our order a few times had to keep reminding them.

When ordering was not given my change had to ask a few times.

Wont be going again.

User

The guy there didn't even give my change! It was very awks, messed my order up he gave me 2 beans instead of Chana I ordered, teas took over 25 mins to come and the food tasted mediocre at best, my advice to these guys.. Sort your customer service out and learn to give change to the customers, the food needs to improve too and stop making people wait about 30 mins for tea.
