About Masons Arms, Gargrave

Pub & bed & breakfast

Masons Arms, Gargrave Description

Found at the heart of the tranquil village of Gargrave in North Yorkshire, just a ten minute drive away from the market town of Skipton, you’ll find a quaint little bar, restaurant and six-room B& B. The Masons Arms is synonymous with the traditional English pub; providing an idyllic setting for its patrons. Step inside and be greeted by all of the warmth and comfort that comes with classic oak-beamed ceilings, an open fire and a friendly community ready to greet you with open arms; whilst just outside you'll be treated to picturesque views that include fantastic green fields, historic village houses and the fast-flowing Leeds /Liverpool canal.

The Yorkshire Dales are well-known for their walkers, with the odd cyclist being spotted too; and The Masons Arms is the perfect stop off point for those trekking in the area. You can replenish those energy levels with a hearty meal that is so much more than mere pub grub; or enjoy a quick tipple from one of the many ales, lagers and wines on offer (or a soft drink for those being good); and for those looking to put their head down for a night, the bed and breakfast does accept walk-ins, though beware, it is often busy and you may find it fully booked! Families are also very much welcome; with a children's menu on offer and a quiet, comforting atmosphere that is perfect for a catch-up.

With a number of barbecues in the summer months and a weekly pub quiz in the winter, as well as monthly live music shows; there is always something going on at The Masons. The pub offers a multitude of sport and leisure activities, with a Bowling Green and dart board available, as well as a number of domino meetings and a golf society to be joined. The business is also a supporter of local charity 'Neville House', for which it continues to raise a great deal.

Merry Christmas to all of our loving patrons, holiday-makers, and those that just like good beer!

There's only 1 thing better than sitting in front of a log fire on a cold, bleary winter's night, and that is sitting in front of a log fire with your favourite drink in hand. Well, taking a trip to an exotic country may just trump it, but we don't provide that, and what we do provide is much less expensive!

Sunday's back and Monday creeps ever closer. The anxious search for Friday begins yet again...

There are no better places on a cold winter Saturday than your warm, welcoming village pub. Well, we would say that!

User

We think Fridays are best spent together. You and your pint of beer, your gin & tonic, your wine, your cider, or whatever you like to drink. Go on then, what is your favourite tipple?

Happy Friday everyone!

We'd like to thank everyone who came to what turned out to be a fantastic day yesterday! Despite the weather-enforced change of plans we think everyone had a great time.

Unfortunately, due to the poor weather we have had to call the cricket off today. Not to worry though, the dark Gargrave clouds do have a silver lining, as we'll be having some fun and games at the Masons from 3pm, with Dominoes, darts and much more going on!

We had two nights at the Masons Arms as we were using it as a base for going to the Land Rover off road centre . We couldn't have possibly found a better place to stay , the Landlord and Landlady gave us such a warm welcome , they are very friendly and very helpful and are an excellent source of local information . The rooms are clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable . As for the food well cooked and delicious mostly using good quality produce .

We were sad when it was time to leave and I am sure we will be back .

100% Recommended !

Very busy when we went for a meal on a Sunday evening but we had pre booked our table so were seated straight away. The landlord and staff were very welcoming. Menu was very varied and everything coming from the kitchen looked delicious. We enjoyed our meal and good portion size too. Very relaxed pub which is just what we wanted. Enjoyed the evening very much.

The food was excellent as was the customer service. They couldn’t have been more welcoming. I can’t recommend the Belly pork enough it was abfab.

User

The Wainwright's was top class, my friend enjoyed the Theakstons XB, we had a great beef sandwich and chips. The new management which arrive a year or so ago I think has really upped the pubs game, it's very friendly.

User

Stayed here earlier this summer for the Skipton food and drink festival. Excellent comfortable accommodation. Dogs made very welcome. Lots of local dog walks at the side of the river bank within 5 minutes walk of the pub. Will definitely go again. So much we didn't see in the area.

User

I’ve been staying at the Premier Inn at Gargrave for 4 nights, and on my first night I decided to try the Masons Arms in the village for my evening meal. As I walked inside the gentleman behind the bar, presumably the landlord, was very welcoming and helpful. The food I ordered was spot on, I went for the Masons steak and ale pie, very tasty. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I have been coming back to this pub for my dinner every night this week! If you find a great place to eat, why bother going elsewhere?! The food has been good each night I’ve been here. Over the different nights I’ve tried the lasagne, chicken mushroom and tarragon pie, and the luxury cottage pie, all very good indeed. Good value too at under £10 for each of those meals. The pub itself seems like a really great local. Several of the local regulars said hello to me even just on my second night, so it’s a very friendly place too. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Masons Arms.

User

User

A "proper" local in the centre of a great village.

The atmosphere is usually lively, the beer is well-kept and the menu comprises many locally sourced ingredients freshly prepared and served by friendly team.

User

Handy location, staff more than helpful, home cooked meals plentiful and delicious, room clean and comfortable, even the customers in the bar made us feel at home. We had a good time
