Cleaning the decks is vital on Massey to maintain the woodwork and stop any moss growing. Plus, in this wet and cold weather we don't want any ice forming either! Thanks to our volunteers for more hours spent on board, even in this cold weather! If you would like to support regular maintenace... and maybe allow us to buy Bill a larger brush please consider donating here:

2019 has been a pretty difficult year for Massey and her dedicated volunteers with the current engine repair still on going. We are sad to announce that Massey Shaw will not be attending the the Dunkirk trip with the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships (official). However, we are organising a coach to allow us to take part in the event and see some other historical sites. Details to be announced in January. For now, please check back to our page regularly and why not book a visit to Massey in 2020! https://masseyshaw.org/plan-a-visit/

A very Merry Christmas from all our volunteers on board Massey Shaw. It's been a challenging year, but we have had numerous visits, educational trips and hours spent on the engine! Best wishes from Santa on board.. in 1994!

Work continued today stripping the spare heads ready for cleaning and rebuilding. We thought out of the box and got the valves removed in good time. Well done !! The engine heads are returned and so work commenced on preparing them for refitting plus the air starter was removed from the other engine for an overhaul. Thanks once again to our volunteers for all their hard work! If you're able to donate towards the tools, products and people hours please support us!

On International Mens Day 2019 Victor explains why he volunteers for London Fire Brigade as a Fire Cadets Instructor.
After starting as as a Fire Cadet himself with LFB Fire Cadets, he thinks it’s important to give young people a safe space to come to each week.

Sponsorship opportunity: Get your name on Massey's iconic engine! As you know we still have one of our main engines in various bits and without it we’re going nowhere!
Now that we have an understanding of what work needs to be done, we’re seeking sponsors for 6 ‘big end bearings’ for the engine pistons. We already have 4 confirmed donors so there is space for 2 more! Please read the news item or get in touch to find out more information! https://masseyshaw.org/news/get-your...-n ame-on-masseys-engine/ You could also simply donate securely online via PayPal Giving!
