Wow! An absolute must see and mesmerising from start to finish! A favourite book which is beautifully bought to life with an incredible cast, catchy music and a stunning set. Fabulous cast and Miss Trunchball is brilliant! The children do an amazing job. Lily-Mae Evans, as Matilda, is simply wonderful and delivers a very special performance. Highly recommended.

Wow wow wow we absolutely loved this.

I took my Daughter to watch Matilda last night.

What an incredible show.

All the adult and child actors were brilliant..but a special shout out to Kitty Peterkin who’s was mesmerising, her singing and acting skills were out of this world.

Liberty who played Lavender was also one to mention.

We definitely recommend this to all ages.

User

What an amazing experience..

Laughed... cried...

The planned Matilda took ill and was replaced by a substitute... I understand this young lady who played Matilda had not been on stage in the part for a number of months ...

well if that's what she was like when she has had a break ...my God she must have been mind-blowing when she was on a roll because she played the part to absolute perfection.

Indeed's the entire cast were totally fantastically brilliant and I can't think of any other words to express how excellent this show is.

Sets ...costumes ...Lighting all one 150%

At this stage we seen almost every show in the West End and this by far is in my top 3.

David Shannon as the horrific head mistress is a tour de force...

But it is really difficult to rule out any particular member of the cast as right down to the chorus members they are just Electric.

The Precision of the choreography... especially in the school gate scene is awesome.

Well done to all... even Matilda's parents... Strictly Come Dancing will never be the same again.

Don't miss it.. it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

User

What a show!!! The acting, the songs, the stage, the singing, the dancing etc, etc. From the beginning to the end.......amazing!! I recommend you go and see it for yourself. Adults and kids will love it

User

What a production! I brought two of my stage school classes to the show in the Bord Gais Theatre Dublin last night, and the students were in total awe of the Cast & Special Effects. An amazing production, well done to all.... you are a true inspiration to young people.

User

Was very excited to see the show and took my children (2 boys and a girl) to see it and we all loved it. Fantastic, catchy songs that the kids sang all the way home on the train. Lily Mae was amazing as Matilda, with such stage presence. A superstar in the making! I was also lucky enough to see the show again with a friend, a few days later, and loved it just as much the second time round. Would I see it again? Definitely!!!

User

Took my own Matilda to see this yesterday and I have to say we were blown away! Amazing sets, dance routines and performances by all the cast but especially by Emma Moore who was playing Matilda and the little girl who played Lavender. Well done and congratulations to everyone involved!

Still resident in the West End, the musical based on the classic Roald Dahl book with music and lyrics by the obscenely talented Tim Minchin opened its UK Tour at the Leicester Curve Theatre this week and to say it has been worth the wait to see this show outside of London would be the understatement of the century. Matthew Warchus's supreme direction and Peter Darling's inventive choreography are complemented aesthetically by some outstanding design elements from Rob Howell and all contrive to bring about a tremendously entertaining spectacle.

Debuting in the title role at this performance with some undoubted confidence and talent, that I only wish I had at her age was Annalise Bradbury who produced a performance and some stunning vocals that can only be described as magnificent. This is all the more exceptional considering the depth of youth talent that exists within the cast, including a virtuoso performance by Elliot Stiff as Bruce leading the 'Revolting Children' number with consummate ease.

They say you should never act with children or animals but, sometimes as an adult in the world of theatre you have to and an ace at this is the masterful Craige Els as the much maligned Miss Trunchbull, not a part to be taken lightly but, one he puts every ounce of character into.

Never mind revolting children there are a couple of revolting parents here with Sebastien Torkia and Rebecca Thornhill as the thoroughly unlikeable but, nevertheless highly entertaining Mr & Mrs Wormwood. Both the birth scene and the 'Telly' number (augmented by a gem of an offering by Matthew Caputo as Micheal) are comedy gold, whilst much can be attributed to the words of Dahl and writer Dennis Kelly, it takes some great performers to engage and build genuine laughter from an audience.

Carly Thoms provides a touching yet powerful performance as Miss Honey building to the highly emotional 'My House' number and Michelle Chantelle Hopewell uses her acting talents to the full in supporting the lead actress in the library scenes as Mrs Phelps.

As with many touring productions currently there is a rich array of excellent performers in the supporting cast and it is wonderful to have the chance to see so much of this expertise on a single stage.

Matilda the Musical is currently scheduled to tour until 12th January 2019 so there is no excuse not to catch a performance or you might want to be a little bit 'naughty' and see more than one.

User

Saw the matinee with my 7yr old yesterday 10/3/18. Wow!! It was incredible!! The whole ensemble were tight, the children's voices just amazing!

It was very funny. Mrs Wormwood leading the way - comic genius.

Bruce was remarkable; what a stage presence, what a voice! Definitely a chap going places.

The whole show was superb. Loved the library set and words everywhere. Script was brilliant. Great to see bits we recognised from the book and the film but with a whole load of original elements and magic.

I was delighted to find plenty of leg room in the upper circle too. We had a wonderful afternoon, thank you. X x

One of the best musicals in the West End. Incredible cast and one of the best youth casts in London today. If these guys and girls are the future stars of the West End, then the future is very bright indeed. Amazing night out, Matilda played by #EmmaMoore, incredible and inspirational young leading lady. Highly recommend this show...

I absolutely loved this! What a fabulous show! Hands down the best West End production I have ever seen. Bought tickets to the show in London for my husband's birthday and we weren't disappointed, saw the show on 16th may and couldn't stop laughing it was hilarious and exciting, the cast were amazing especially the children. Highly recommend this show if you want an entertaining day, and I'm a bookworm lol.

User

Awesome! Went yesterday with husband and 2 kids. Fantastic show, funny with new storyline whilst following film story too. Great songs and good acting too. Only downside is that you do miss out on some aspects when not on floor level such as effects and cast amongst seating area, also slight restricted view of sides of stage that wasn't stated at time of booking but enjoyed show. Was daughter's 2nd time seeing it and she still loved it.

User

.On the 8th may first night of matilda. Really fantastic show. Great evil headmistress. Fantastic performance from poppy as matilda. Remember seeing matilda movie back in 94 first roald dahl book was matilda. And i think thats where got imagination off. Best musical been too.

User

I think partly the hype and reviews have been SO amazing, that I went with enormously high expectations... Which is not a good thing really, as it's often hard to fulfill... I thought it was a very smooth, quirky and professional production, interesting staging and the cast, choreography and songs were outstanding... But it felt a bit long? Which clearly can't be a good thing... And in parts a bit repetitive... The swing routine and desk top street dance performance were amazing, but, unlike other shows I've seen recently, I don't feel I need to rush back and see it again....
