A good warm up is a must if you are going to have a good workout! I love incorporating my warm up with some dynamic stretches! Dynamic stretching is a form of active movement that isn't about holding a stretch but rather taking your body through ranges of motion that will better prepare you for your workout. A good warm-up should really focus on using dynamic stretches, not static. With over 25 years in sports as an athlete, scholar and now practitioner , I can only... attest that I’ve found dynamic stretching to be ideal as the core of a warm-up routine for several reasons. This type of stretching improves: range of motion, body awareness, challenges motor skills, enhances muscular performance and power. If you are trying to get stronger, build more muscle, or simply perform better, a dynamic warm-up routine is likely your best bet.
