Maxines Grooming And Daycare For Dogs

Thought I would update you on the pet services I offer and how my planning and preparation is going for when things ease.
GROOMING - this is currently in the highest demand but not yet available. There have been new guidelines issued by the canine and feline sector group who report into DEFRA. This is all based around the risk of your dog carrying the virus on its fur from your house to mine and from my house to yours with the aim being to reduce that risk. I know that the ...risk may seem low to many of you but it is there and I would hate for any of us to contract this and not be able to get the treatment we need.
However I am spending my time working out new procedures, identifying at what points in the process the virus could be transmitted and what I need to do to resolve this. So far I am purchasing new clothing , new PPE , new sterilising equipment and solutions for indoors and outdoors and new grooming tools that will wash and dry more quickly.
I hope that as you have trusted me to groom your dog you will continue to trust me to ensure I make the right decisions going forward.
DAYCARE - if you are a key worker or essential worker this can be offered but extremely limited and with safety measures in place.
BOARDING - not available for the rest of this year.

This week there have been guidelines issued to dog groomers on how to minimise the risk of transmitting the covid-19 virus if we want to return to work . I read them , read them again and read them over and over thinking about how to return to work.
THEN I read this article ...ONCE.... and my decision was made....I value your lives as well as my own and my families. I am staying closed for grooming for now .

So on Pet Service Social Media groups today there are many many arguments about what duties we can carry out within pet services. Dog groomers that work from home as I do are saying well we are working from home its allowed, dog walkers are saying we are allowed to go out to work so its allowed, daycare saying that they are essential workers.
My thoughts are that yes we could argue the wording of the fine print and return to work and earn some wages - HOWEVER - the main thing I am listening to and reading are the less we move around, the less we go out, the less we interact THE MORE LIVES WE SAVE.
That really is the only wording I need to concentrate on - and that is the reason myself and my pet services friends are forgoing our wages, wondering how to pay our bills pure and simply to prevent the spread of this virus

With immediate effect and in accordance with prime ministers instructions I am closing my grooming room. I hope you all stay well and will see you all in the near future.

I havent posted so far because to be honest the facebook news feed is full of coronavirus and there isnt much to add.
However - I just want to say I hope you and all your loved ones stay healthy in this awful time.
We have all been affected in some way by this awful virus, businesses wiped out overnight like mine, income lost, but all of that means nothing when put into context of the possibility of our loved ones being seriously ill.
... Please everybody follow the advice, self isolate, stay safe - cuddle the pooches!
