About Mayhem Theatre Arts
Mayhem Theatre Arts provides a multi purpose Performing Arts Studio, offering first class tuition for children and adults in all aspects of Performing.
Mayhem Theatre Arts Description
We have created a range of classes in all disciplines of the Performing Arts designed to challenge our students. The emphasis is always on having fun, whilst learning new skills and encouraging creativity. From complete beginner to advanced professional, all ability levels and ages are catered for.
Classes are taught in small groups to ensure maximum individual attention. Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced and passionate about their work.
We believe that everyone should be able to express themselves through the Arts. Our classes help to develop confidence, communication, fitness, self awareness, and passion; key skills that will last a life time.

Introduction to Dance Class
For ages 3-4 years, this class covers the foundations of ballet, tap and modern where children will work on co-ordination, balance and rhythmic response to music.
Ballet /Tap /Modern
The I. S. T. D exam syllabus is the basis for these classes, which cater for age 4 to adult. Exams are taken from the age of 6. Students also have the opportunity to perform in an Annual Dance Production.
Freestyle Jazz /Lyrical Jazz /Freestyle Ballet
These are structured classes introduced for students not wishing to take exams. They can be used as extra practice classes. Participating students will also work towards our Annual Dance Production.
Street Dance /Trix
Currently the most popular of dance genres. There are many different styles of street and hip hop. Mayhem teaches all of them - from Commercial to Tuttin', Popping, Stompin', New Age, Hip Hop, Trix and basic break dancing!
Act, Sing and Dance all in the same class!
Step into the exciting world of Musical Theatre. . . . . . .
For over 150 years Musical Theatre has been dazzling audiences around the world. From Pirates and Shipwrecks to Revolutions, Cowboys and Cats these unique productions captivate and inspire. so it's no wonder this is our most popular class at Mayhem!
Our Musical Theatre Workshops provide students with the opportunity to participate in an acting, singing and dancing class all in the same session and then experience the thrill of bringing all three elements together for a public performance. So if you just love every aspect of performing, this is the perfect choice for you.
Junior Workshop. 4 - 7 years. Saturdays 10. 00am - 12. 00pm.
Classes start with an energetic musical warm up, involving movement, voice and imagination. Students are then divided into 3 age groups where they rotate around 3 x 35 minute classes of Acting, Singing and Dancing. The emphasis is always on encouraging creativity, building confidence and developing key skills whilst having bundles of fun! Each year, students appear in a full-scale musical production for family and friends in a local professional theatre. Speaking, listening, rhythm, co-ordination, musicality, storytelling and communication are just a few of the many topics covered.
Senior Workshop. 8 - 13 years. Saturdays 12. 30pm - 3. 30pm.
Sessions follow the same format as above, but each subject class is slightly longer at 55 minutes. Students are challenged on a range of different material from musicals past and present. Classes focus on students fusing all three disciplines together to create exciting, believable and skilled performances for public viewing.

Private Singing
These 1-2-1 classes are designed to train and develop the singing voice. Students work on a range of technical skills, including breath control, pitch, tone, rhythm and performance, to maximise individual potential. Classes cover material from classical to pop and are tailor-made to suit your requirements. Private pupils are normally taken from 8 years upwards and lessons can be booked by phoning 01992 465100. Group Singing
An excellent way for beginners to gain more confidence. Sing as part of a small group and develop that hidden pop star voice! . Classes focus on musical theatre and pop songs and are for age 7 + . Phone 01992 465100 for full details.
Piano, Drums and Guitar
There is nothing quite like the buzz of being able to play a musical instrument. These 1-2-1 classes are led by specialist teachers. Students are entered into examinations and are encouraged to play at recital evenings. Times and prices on application

Adult Theatre Company
Our Adult Theatre group meets every Wednesday from 8 till 9. 30pm and is designed for beginners and the more experienced performer. The year is divided into two seperate projects. A straight play designed to improve and develop your acting skiils, including; Voice, movement, improvisation, characterisation and performance and a large scale Musical production at a local Theatre increasing participation into singing and dancing. Classes are relaxed with the emphasis always on learning something new and having a good time!

Hey all, We would really like to see your support towards this fantastic charity and local group of people that are collecting for the homeless this winter. I’m helping one of our mayhem parents collect bits and bobs so if you have a clear out this week please feel free to drop off items to mayhem as we are collection point for them . Adult warm clothing mainly but also things like toothbrushes, soap , wash cloths etc and blankets gloves hats and scarfs - if you have anything to donate it would be greatly appreciated xxx

We are brand new to Mayhem but absolutely loving it! I've never seen such an exited 4 year old (and never felt such a thrill as a mum seeing my daughter take to something new so naturally!)
Sophie absolutely loves dancing here and teaching me all her latest moves.
My two girls attend the street dancing classes on a Friday evening and absolutely love it.
My little one started the twinkle ballet class and it's everything i wanted in a child's ballet class. It's structured but fun and they melt my heart in their little tutus! She absolutely loves 'ballerina-ing' and I see this being a long relationship
My daughter, Gemma has been coming to Mayhem since she was 4. Seven years later we're still coming in through the doors and every timr she's as excited as she was on that first day. Lovely friendly atmosphere where they provide opportunities for each child to shine.
My daughter loves it looks forward to every class, a very friendly and professional dance/theatre arts school.
My daughter loves attending musical theatre group on a Saturday morning. And she did brilliantly in their end of year show.
My daughter has been going to Mayhem for 5 years now and has enjoyed every minute.
My daughter Daisy has been attending Mayhem for over 5 years now and made lots of friends she looks forward to her classes every week and thoroughly enjoys performing in the annual dance shows .Daisy has grown into a confident dancer and that's all credit to the dedicated teachers she's had over the years I would definitely recommend Mayhem .
My 6 yr old loves her street crew dance class and has started Modern now too and thinks it's great! �
Molly & Poppy have both learnt so much & continue to learn, dance, act & have fun in a fabulous environment under the guidance of Nicole & Alex!!
Liana's confidence has grown so much since she has been attending Mayhem Theatre Arts. She's loves the teachers and children and most of all dancing!!!
