It's a grey day at Manchester Airport and I guess these planes aren't going anywhere. We are heading to the Holy Land with clergy from the Church in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland - just waiting for the call from easyJet to board our direct flight to Tel Aviv.

Ethiopia is one of the oldest Christian countries, predating Constantine’s conversion of the Roman Empire, and the Tewahedo Church is the world’s largest Oriental Orthodox Church. The day started with morning prayers in St Chad’s chapel, before we journeyed to Chester-Le-Street to hear about St Cuthbert. Then via the Angel of the North to Hexham Abbey for Communion, and a tour of the Saxon crypt.
