E.J McGovern Crane Hire COVID-19 Statement As a responsible employer the health and safety of our employees and our customers is our top priority. As a result, we have made the decision that as of today 27/03/2020 we will be temporarily reducing our staffing levels in our office and out on site. We are doing this so we can ensure that our work areas are correctly sanitised and clean along with reducing foot traffic through our premises and in and around our machines to ensure... that we can safely operate in accordance with the government guidelines and maintain a 2.0mtr distance from others. All our vans and cranes are now equipped with hand sanitisers and wipes along with disposable gloves to be used on entry to our yard and when driving / operating our equipment. We are not carrying out works which we believe would be in contradiction of the government guidelines. If we believe it is unworkable to maintain a 2.0mtr distance from other persons on site whilst working we will not carry out the works. This means our ‘Machinery Moving Division’ will no longer be undertaking works with immediate effect until the government restrictions have been lifted. It is impossible for employees to maintain a safe distance when carrying out these works which are also mainly in small plantrooms or inside buildings. We will be carrying our Risk Assessments for our Crane Hire and Contract Lifting on a case by case basis during which we will assess the specifications of the job and if we feel the works can be safely completed then we will proceed. For some works we are classed as ‘essential’ or ‘key workers’. We have current projects which directly affect the NHS including the construction of Hospitals which in light of the Covid-19 pandemic we must prioritise along with works which relate to scaling up in the food supply industry and any other 'essential' works. But we must re-iterate, these sites must be safe for our employees, we will support any of our employee’s decisions and we will not force any of our employees to work in unsafe conditions, which also extends to if they feel the conditions onsite are not safe or they cannot feasibly follow government guidelines onsite. We will constantly monitor the current situation and provide an update when the above position alters.

McGovern Crane Hire - 2018 Investments.
We are proud to be known for running a very modern, clean and well maintained fleet. Every year we constantly re-invest in the fleet to ensure that we have an average fleet age of 1.5 years old. Our oldest machine today is actually a 2016.
By running a young fleet we can ensure that our clients have the most technologically advanced cranes on the market along with improved reliability. The AC45 City and CR130-Rf pictured below are the... first of each machine to be on UK soil.
Next year is no different. We have three machines on order. You will have to wait and see what they entail !

We recently completed a turnkey solution for the removal of a 12,000kg scrap boiler and the installation of a new 8,000kg BOSCH boiler, we provided a plant installation team, skates, telehandler, ekki jacking timbers, jacking equipment, power attack, LTM1060 Mobile Crane and transport.
This time lapse was shot over the 4 day period of this lift.
