Oh we have a lovely little treat for you this rather wet weekend... the Chef’s Sliders! On the left we have Southern Fried Buffalo Chicken with ranch sauce, blue cheese and slaw, in the middle we have the BBQ Pork Burger with bourbon glazed pulled pork, gherkins and baby gem lettuce. Lastly on the right, the Jamaican spiced beef slider with a pineapple and mango salsa, mayo and rocket! A perfect flavour combo to satiate your hunger!

This weekend our chefs have whipped up a savoury treat for you all with three specials! First we have the Salt Beef Loaded fat chips topped with homemade gravy and crispy onions. Next we have the Buffalo Chicken Burger! A southern fried chicken fillet with smothered in buffalo sauce, blue cheese sauce and topped with pickled celery! We also have our ever popular Salt Beef Brioche (not pictured, it got eaten too quickly to take a photo of).

Went there on Saturday for first time. It was pouring with rain and we needed somewhere to dry off and refuel - couldn't have picked a better place. It was crowded but we had no problem in getting a table. The staff were excellent and our food came quickly and was spot on! Terrific, well-cooked burgers with excellent dressing and great 'fat chips'. Would have absolutely no problem in recommending Meat & Barrel as a 'go-to' place in Southsea. Will definitely be back. Oh, I forgot to mention but there's a great selection of beers but, as I was driving, I had to stick to coke😡 - next time...

Went on a Monday where there was an offer of a free drink with food. We ordered a couple of drinks, then ordered food. When the food arrived, I remembered the free drink offer and mentioned it to the member of staff. The cost of my last round was quickly returned with a smile and commendable grace.

The burgers and fries were artisan food at its best, and we savoured every mouthful until the platters were spotless.

Very impressed on a first visit, and highly recommended in terms of food, drink, ambience, attitude and friendliness.

We were visiting my daughter, it was her boyfriend who suggested eating here, what a fabulous choice! Can only say that our meal was fabulous, everyone enjoyed it, the staff were friendly and accommodating (as we hadn't booked and there were six of us) we weren't rushed or harassed! Also it's dog friendly - love that aspect! Great value too!

Probably the best veggie burger I have had. I have eaten so many over the years and so many have been bland and tasteless but not this one. I will certainly be back for another! The food is great, service exceptional and a great place.

Popped in for lunch today with my friend and our two little ones. I have to say the staff were amazing! So helpful, friendly and accommodating. It’s not easy with little ones but they made every effort to ensure we felt welcome. The food was lovely too! - thank you x

I can honestly say that I have never had a better burger and chips anywhere than here. It is just cooked to perfection! Love the casual atmosphere and the decor, not to mention the beer available. It's just a great place to meet for a meal with friends or family for a casual lunch or dinner or for a special occasion. Fully deserves the 5 stars!

Had a wonderful meal and what made it so great was that my 9 year old daughter that has coeliac disease could eat here, the staff were very knowledgeable and told us what she could and could not have, they also understood about our worry of cross contamination,one happy happy girl.

Found this place a few weeks ago and thought we'd pop in for a bite to eat at lunch as it looked interesting. Yum! Food was amazing! Went back today for breakfast. Delicious! Staff are very attentive too. We'll have to try dinner there next time. �

I really likenthat I can take my dog with me! So he doesn't have to miss and we're not constantly worrying about getting back for him. Food portions are huge! A great place for the hungry . . . I enjoyed the G&T menu too.

The food does not worth the price at all and the food are too pricey and I would not recommend this,spending nearly £15 for small portion of breakfast and just too basic and simple. Compare with other cafe near by
