"My dad was involved in a car accident in which he broke his back (and almost every other bone in his body). He was taken to hospital where the doctors called my grandparents and told them to make their way to the hospital as quickly as possible, as it was feared that their son might not survive the night."

"My grandfather is the ripe old age of 102. One day last year, he was found collapsed in his beloved greenhouse. The care he received during his hospital visit was wonderful. In fact, he liked it that much he joked he'd book in there for his holidays next year. We're obviously hoping not!" I have been using Medacs Barnsley since last October and am now able to cancel this care due to recovery from Lymphoma (well in Remission anyway) and having to have a hip replacement due to the cancer breaking my hip. I just want to say how grateful i am to each and every one of the carers who have been looking after me. I have been treated with care, compassion, courtesy and dignity by everyone who has been involved in my care. It's sad to have to let them go but all the ladies have said it's great to have seen me recover and be part of that journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The only glitch seems to be certain members of the Out of Hours service who haven't been brilliant at passing messages onto the carers.

My dad has you he’s been with you for a while now all of the nurses that my dad has are great thanks for looking after my dad

The two regular carers are lovely and do their job. It is the administration of our care package i am unhappy with and EVERY time I call and speak to our coordinator we are told "i will speak to them" etc. Last weeks female carer came out to my Dad and got angry because she was late so he had gone for a wash and then had a go at my parents saying that putting compression stockings on is a man's job and not hers!!!! My Father has dementia, parkinsons And cancer. He is going through enough without the 'care staff' having a go at him and making him out to be a burden!!!!! We pay (privately) their wages!! The office should NOT be sending such 'carers' out to vulnerable people. This happened last weekend and i expect it to be investigated. As a family we are struggling to come to terms with things and all medacs have done from day one is cause upset and embarrassment to my parents! The two carers that come out regularly are great but the company needs to be firm wth their staff and honest with their clients

Medacs need to get their priorities right when doing their planning for support workers to visit their clients. Medication often given at wrong time. Support workers calling at 6:30 for tea time meal, then calling 7:30pm for bedtime. No wonder Dementia clients get mixed with their day/night. Social Services access and place a plan to follow for Medacs via their support girls, daily plan often not followed. Some of the support girls are friendly and engage in conversation but there are one or two support workers can’t even look their client in the eye, can you imagine how that elderly person feels to be ignored. SAD. A Dementia person still has feelings. Not forgetting when a client pays for their care it is often cut short and not value for money paid.

My father has been receiving care from medacs for over a year, whilst I would rate all their caring staff as 5* I cannot rate the accounts department as anything other that appalling.

For 5 months now we have received incorrect invoices. I have emailed and been promised this has been rectified. 3 weeks later the same errors occur. I keep a very close eye on dads accounts and check everything. Random overcharges slipping onto the invoices makes a great profit for a company relying on Vulnerable people as their customers!!

I have asked for a manager to contact me, no one has.

I have now had to cancel any direct payment to you due to the endless amount of invoicing errors. If it wasn't for the fact my father has excellent carers visiting him I wouldn't touch medacs!
