On Friday, MediaCom hosted a day of activities and panels for IPA' s #AdUnlocked day. A huge thank you to all those who attended, all those who gave some time across the day and, of course, the brilliant team of execs who ran it! #NIWeek2018 #Career #Media #Advertising

Last week we waved goodbye to summer, seemingly just in time! Our Summer Festival was organised by an amazing committee of volunteers.
Thankfully, the rain and wind calmed down by the time everyone had shown up, and the sun was shining for us! With some amazing food stands and cocktail bars, it was a brilliant evening in a beautiful spot!
Through the night, MediaCom's very talented staff kept the crowd lively, with acts including bands and DJs.
... Thanks to everyone who got involved, we will see you again at Christmas!

Scroll Free September is the RSPH’s (Royal Society for Public Health) campaign to encourage people to stop or reduce their personal social media usage for the month of September.
The positive and negative effects of social media have been prevalent in the news in recent times, with emphasis on the negative effects for young user’s mental health.
The RSPH published a report last year named #StatusOfMind, which warned that social media could be fuelling a mental health crisis ...in young people – with Snapchat and Instagram the worst culprits.

“It is our mission ‘to be the best sports company in the world.’ To hit that mark, we need the right line-up of partners onside with us. Consumer-obsessed, digitally-focused and always creating the new.
“This is the way we at adidas and Reebok operate. We are pleased to have found those same drivers in our new agency partner MediaCom. Through our partnership, we look forward to innovating ways of reaching and connecting to our consumers across the trend-leading cities whose influence on global culture is the key to unlocking desirability and demand.”
Jocelyn Robiot, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Adidas.

Epic games have created a cultural behemoth beyond the confines of the game itself where the in-game emotes and dances have taken over school playgrounds and even featured in goal celebrations during the 2018 World Cup.
Is the next development branded in game partnerships where advertising becomes part of the fabric of the game? With the game now available across the latest Android and iOS devices game time and player numbers will increase further in a notoriously difficult to reach audience segment.
Will we see a time where games developers themselves become “media owners”?

2015/16 saw an unprecedented number of major brands put their media accounts up for review. These included Unilever, Procter & Gamble, L’OrĂ©al and Coca-Cola. It was reported that at least $25 billion of media spend went into review.
As it turns out, 2015/16 wasn’t an anomaly. The past 12 months have been an even busier pitch period than "mediapalooza", and it shows no signs of slowing.

"This deal goes much further than a one-off game. It appears there’s a clear plan to engage young people, so over time, this is a strategy that will tap into a new generation of fans as well laying a foundation to identify future players.
It’s not often that anyone steals a march on the Premier League, but this is exactly what La Liga has done; playing matches abroad will almost certainly become the norm for big leagues in five years’ time."

“After the Premier League failed to drum up any support for matches played abroad a few years ago, this represents a big feather in the cap for the Spanish league and a strategic win to bridge the gap with the English game.
Not only will La Liga be the first to do this, but they will do so in the most lucrative consumer market."
Misha Sher - Vice President of MediaCom Sport & Entertainment
