Coming Next: SITTING PRETTY A comedy drama by Amy Rosenthal Directed by Maggie Coleman 9th-18th May Tickets £6-10... A bitter-sweet play that unfolds with beautifully humorous twists and turns. Unmarried sisters, in their fifties, share a London flat: Nina is brisk, dynamic and gainfully employed; Nancy is plump, self-conscious and suddenly redundant. Urged by Nina and their faithful friend Max to find a hobby, Nancy unwittingly stumbles into a job as a model for a group of eccentric life drawing students and their philandering teacher, Philip. Initially horrified to discover that life models pose naked, Nancy is unexpectedly liberated by the experience, which she keeps a secret from her sister. But her newfound confidence unsettles Nina's self-possession. The sisters move towards an inevitable confrontation as Nina faces her unhappy past and Nancy glimpses a possible future.
This amateur production of “Sitting Pretty" is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French.

Someone Who'll Watch Over Me A drama by Frank McGuinness Directed by Mel De Lorme 4th- 13th April 2019 Tickets: £6-10... Someone who'll watch over me is a play written by Irish dramatist Frank McGuinness. The action focuses on the trials and tribulations of an Irishman, an Englishman and an American who are kidnapped and held chained up in a cell by unseen Arabs in Lebanon. As the three men strive for survival they endeavour to overcome their personal and nationalistic differences. Concurrently, the three very different individuals attempt to maintain sanity under the watchful eye of both captors and comrades. Despite the darkness of the subject the humour woven into the dialogue makes this a powerful piece of work that cannot fail to stir the emotions.

CHILDREN'S WORKSHOP PRODUCTION 2019 15th-16th March Directed by Carol Scott and Elsie Hehir Tickets £1.50-£3 Three diverse plays - one, a thought-provoking drama, What Have We Got To Lose? written and directed by one of our young members, Elsie Hehir. This play is a drama of the post apocalyptic life of a family and how they challenge the establishment. The others are comedies; Charlotte Holmes, Future Detective, written by Richard James is set in a future time where children go to school on a skybus! Then we have a very irreverent version of Macbeth, more Geoff Bamber (one of our favourite authors) than Shakespeare. We hope to entertain!

The RAILWAY CHILDREN by E. Nesbit, adapted by Mike Kenny: Youth Company Production 28th February-2nd March Directed by Kairn Bignell Tickets: £6 Mike Kenny's imaginative stage adaptation of E. Nesbit's much-loved children's classic. Famously filmed, this story of a prosperous Edwardian family - mother and three children - forced into near-penury in the rural north of England captures the anxieties and exhilarations of childhood with great tenderness and insight.

Coming Next: RELATIVELY SPEAKING, a comedy by Alan Ayckbourn Directed by Chris Loft 6th-15th December Tickets £6-10 Greg and Ginny, twenty to thirty somethings, are living together, but Greg is becoming suspicious that he is not the only man in Ginny’s life having noticed what he thinks to be certain tell tale signs around their bed-sit, including a pair of strange slippers under the bed. When Ginny decides to ‘visit her parents’, with his suspicions in mind, he follows her. ...What he doesn’t know is that Ginny is actually off to visit her much older lover – in order to end their relationship as she knows that Greg is the one for her. Arriving first, Greg mistakes the soon-to-be ex-lover and his wife for Ginny’s parents, and from here misunderstandings and chaos commence. Ginny’s subsequent arrival then only compounds an already chaotic and wildly hilarious situation. A classic comedy, this is the play that in 1967 gave Alan Ayckbourn his first West End hit, and it still proves to be as popular today as in the 1960s with both amateur and professional companies alike.

Went to see Rope last night. A thrilling story made perfect by a wonderful cast and crew... absolutely superb. If you live in Medway (or even if you don't) go and see a Medway Little Theatre production. You will thank me later.

Took my lovely sister for a well deserved evening out last Saturday. We went to see Veronicas Room, absolutely loved it! The actors were all brilliant, scenery, props, the lot, what a mesmerising play - and we understood the plot. It was great to meet the very talented actors at the bar afterwards to tell them how brilliant they were, can’t wait to visit MLT again. Well done to all - break a leg

I've seen lots of plays at Medway Little Theatre over the years but 'The Beauty Queen of Leenane' is a standout of recent years. This is an intense piece to stage but superb cast dynamics alongside a detailed and meticulously considered set brought Martin McDonagh's modern classic vividly to life. Well done to all involved; a superb production.

Last night I went to see Beauty queen of Leenane, the play was acted well. But what ruined the play was the mother did not have an Irish accent and dead people don't move in their rocking chair and full forwards from a laying back position.
