What would the world be, once bereft Of wet and wilderness? Let them be left, O let them be left, wildness and wet; Long live the weeds and wilderness yet.

For the last 3 months Meiloci have been working with the Green and Whitegold team and SABEF to develop a masterplan for St Austell which seeks to enhance the town and wider area, ‘The St Austell Hinterland', through a strategy of landscape, streetscape and public realm improvements alongside community engagement, consultation and workshops.
As with many such masterplans for townscape and urban improvement there is a specific goal, a legacy, which seeks to improve the attracti...on of the town to both local community and visitors resulting in long term social and economic gain.
What sets the Green and Whitegold project apart is that this change is being facilitated, not through large scale changes to infrastructure or major development work, but through a strategy of ‘Greening’ and sculptural intervention as a means of capitalising on the existing character and assets within and around St Austell. The Great Cornish Gardens, the dramatic coastline and landscapes associated with the China Clay industry, the rich culture and history associated with this region of Cornwall.
Meiloci are working alongside, Urban Recreation, Darren Hawkes Landscapes, Kneehigh, Edible St Austell and are supported by numerous local businesses and councils. More information can be found on https://www.staustell.co.uk and we will keep you up to date with development.
And importantly……. https://whitegold.org.uk/cornish-honey-be e-become-part-of…/…
Please come and help us to make the target 10,000 stoneware tiles. These yellow tiles will help to make the large sculpture of the Cornish Bee!

It was a lovely day for the 'Topping Out' Ceremony at the Aspire and Duchy of Cornwall, Nansledan School. Lots of hard work by ALA Architects detailing a very complicated design. The Duchy of Cornwall and the Midas team are brilliant to work with. It is a great project to be involved in.
