Tuesday is market day. Melton is one of the few which still has a cattle market. Great atmosphere even in the town with all it's stalls & not forgetting the Pork Pie Shop. Loved it so much in Melton that we moved here.

It's fab and it's free. Fur and feathers. Livestock and pets. Produce and bric-a-brac. Grasmere Butchers for a sausage and bacon butty for lunch. Tuesdays the best days. Then into town for a wander and then down to the country park for a walk and a cuppa.

Had a great day out with my husband hadn't been for a few years but the atmosphere was still there very friendly and some real bargains. Won't be to long be for we go again .roast pork stuffing and apple sauce in a cob at lunch time . Lots of meat from the van . Then home for some Melton Mowbray pork pie.

Great day out, watching the livestock auctions, browsing the bric-a-brac and picking up some bargains. The town is blessed to have this and it could be marketed to a wider audience

First time at RBST rare breed sale and at the market, very good sale will definitely be bringing some stock to sell next year. Only 2.5h drive from York easy route straight there.

Best place I've visited as a coach driver in a long time welcoming and friendly. Not parking charges. Was greeted by a lovely lady mad us welcome plenty of info. My passangers enjoyed the marked the pork pie tasting and cheese tasting and then a trip to Belvoir brewery again made very welcome there

User

Always loving going,I love about 30 minute drive away but always worth the trip,I have a wonder round the market then have fish and chips and get my porkpie

Always enjoy a visit here. Granted I've only ever been to the boot sale on a Sunday. I was a Tuesday first timer yesterday and really enjoyed it. Had a lovely breakfast in the on site cafe. Excellent prices. Plenty of stalls to look at. Watch an auction sell boxes of chickens and rabbits etc. It was a real eye opener. And I dare say a rare thing to see these days. So I say use it. Or they'll take that away from us as well. Can't wait to return.

good day out plenty of pies to sample and as always Stephen Hallam was excellent.

Met some friends for coffee and wandered around the mini antique/bric a brac stalls being a Tuesday. Lots of stuff going on. Had a walk up to the farmers auction. You could look down on the sheep pens, but the new part where they were auctioning the cows, there is no elevated place to stand to see what is going on!

We visited the Melton Mowbray Food festival on the 1st of October, We were impressed with the wide range and variety of food and drinks stall. There was nearly 200 exhibitors and lots of nice tasty samples for anybody who wanted to try...... Great day had by all and we also spent a small fortune buying lots of treats.
