Well WOW!! What a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon. A superb ensemble performance - fantastic music, acrobatics, colourful lighting/costume, imaginative staging and great storytelling with some notably excellent solo’s all in an intimate small theatre where, as a member of the audience, you really feel part of all the action. Well done to all those involved!

User

The themed meal to the play evenings are excellent and we have done a few most recently Funny Girl and Adrian Mole. Excellent food and entertainment reasonably priced in a very warm and intimate setting. Love it.

User

The play (Lettice and Loveage) fantastic with stellar performances from Felicity Kendall and Maureen Lipman.

Theatre is lovely (first visit) but think the seat numbers should be moved and a few tickets sacrificed to ensure that larger than average patrons have room and are not taking someone else's seat as well as their own. We were all squished in!!

User

The Secret Life of Adrian Mole aged 13 3/4 the Musical was a brilliant remake and the score was hilarious from start to finish. A huge applause has to go to IIan Galkoff who played Adrian last night 02/09/17

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻and well done to the rest of the cast, who were cleverly moving the set around while performing! If you get a chance, get yourselves to the Menier Choclate Factory, London. Directed by Luke Shepard, Book and Lyrics by Jake Brunger and Music and Lyrics by Pippa Cleary. Running until 09 September 2017.

Saw the last night of Lettice and Lovage and I absolutely LOVED it - so glad I didn't let other reviews put us off booking! It was both very funny and very poignant, faultless from both leads and clever ensemble; I also loved the soundtrack! Yet another superb evening at this wonderful theatre, thank you all!

User

Saw Barnum here and it was pure joy. Such an intimate venue which makes you feel part of the show. Excellent all round. Second time we have come here and will be returning.

User

My two complaints re the venue - the seats could be better and the air conditioning could be better as well (it was rather hot.)

As for the show - I watched The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole and it was excellent - probably the most hilarious musical show I've seen (wa-a-ay above the Book of Mormon!). Acting was beyond my wildest dreams, and the four child actors (Ilan Galkoff, Georgia Pemberton, Max Robson and Callum McDonald) performed like a seasoned pros with dozens of years of acting experience.

User

Loved Barnum, superb setting, fab performers and story, good to know more about the famous man.

User

Love this venue, it never disappoints. Inadvertently, we booked our show and a table in the Resturant the exact week before we turned up. It was our fault entirely. The staff we excellent and very understanding of our situation. They found us a table in the Resturant and as an act of kindness they did not charge us any service charge. Also, the lady in the booking office could not have been more helpful. She was able to find us seats and allowed us to transfer our tickets. Excellent customer care. As for the show, funny, well acted and would love to see it transferred to the west end.

User

Just been to see Barnum, a truly wonderful experience from the delicious food to the energy of the fab cast, loved every minute of it.

User

I love this theatre. So different and unique. And every production I've seen there has had something special to offer. Contrary to the review written here earlier about Maureen Lipman and Felicity Kendall in "Lettice and Lovage" .... I can only think that these wonderful actresses have grown into and bedded into the roles. I saw it last night and thought it so good. Very funny. I guess the answer is to go see for yourself ... but I loved it!

User

I just love this theatre and every show/play I've seen there has been exceptional. Nearly always eat in the restaurant before the show which is a lovely experience too. My only complaint would be not knowing very far in advance what's on next. I've no idea what's on after 'Lettice and Lovage' which finishes in July.

User

Great show! But paying £45 for a ticket you'd expect an actual seat, not a bench seat! As it was just me I couldn't select my own seat- the one I was allocated was front row, right at the end. It was ok though. All the cast were great - especially the youngsters. You have to love seeing grown ups as kids in class too. I'd like to see another show at the Menier soon

User

Barnum.....Brilliant

Fab show with a hugely talented ( and human) cast in an equally fab theatre!

User

Barnum as it should be done!!!, such a great show, amazing cast, well done to all of you. The principals always receive the accolades, but i’m sure even they would agree, this is a true ensemble show that wouldn’t work without them, everyone a star!

ADRIAN MOLE KIDS SAY THANKS!!

Thanks you so much to the Menier Restaurant and Box office teams for looking after our booking yesterday. The incredible kids and the mums from Adrian Mole enjoyed a fantastic reunion yesterday to see Barnum! We loved the show and it was a perfect place and show to get together after our incredible Adrian Mole show from Summer 2017.

Merry Christmas and see you next year!!

Menier theatre handles excellent productions and make great use of a small theatre.

Adrian Mole musical was excellent with a great cast and I enjoyed it a lot. It finishes 9th Sept so anyone wanting to see it need to move fast.

Very happy to recommend this lively theatre.

User

Love this location, Lettice and Lovage was a great play with two great actresses. We could not get a table to eat in the theatre and I made several calls, but was told they were just letting people in to eat so could someone ring me back, no one did. I left messages but took several attempts before my calls were returned to say they were full. Need to review their booking system but found a wonderful restaurant, Edwins above Trinity pub on Borough High Street, thoroughly recommend it.

User

Lettuce & Lovidge. Well where do I start. Totally confused with the spandau ballet gold" blasting out. No idea why it doesn't start till 8, goes on far to long and ended after 10.20. Too wordy & difficult to follow, especially Felicy Kendall's part. More than one person spotted nodding off in the audience. Myself & my companions were distracted & confused & bored & struggled to hear Maureen Lipman. Oh and no air con ! Lots of polite clapping at the end but most looked like they couldn't wait to leave. Very very disappointed
