Performed here in ‘Only Fools and 3 courses’ on 2nd March. I travel the country performing in these shows, however as a proud Norfolk lad I’m so happy to say just how well we were looked after by the Team here. Dave, the event manager, and his team worked brilliantly beside us to make sure the 190 strong audience were entertained and served without massive gaps. They were ace. A fantastic night and again proves why I love Norfolk.

Me and my husband went to the valentines evening last year. for £30 a head i was impressed with the standard,wasnt expecting 5 star service for this price but was more than happy with what we received. food was ok and the music and disco was awesome.I am eager to book an event again soon with the Mercure hotel. Great prices for entertainment and beats going into the busy city any day.

I arranged my sisters Hen Do at the Mercure for the 12th & 13th May & everything was amazing! Everything that I had planned with Laura & her colleagues worked out perfectly and the staff that looked after us on the Friday & Saturday, in particular the bar man, Attila, was superb. He looked after us in the afternoon on the Friday and then again at breakfast and afternoon tea on the Saturday as well. Every little detail was taken care of.

The afternoon tea was delicious and the endless teas and coffees went down a treat.

Thanks again to all of the amazing staff at the Mercure.

Fantastic night out for a Hen Do at Friday Night at the Movies! Food was delicious and we danced all night! Rooms were very comfy and delicious breakfast in the morning was most welcome!! �

Excellent. Night out, the D.j. knew what to play for us dancers, and the food was excellent, hot and tasty, I have to say the best meal I've ever had at one of these entertainment evenings. Also there was room we were not packed in like sardines27 oct. Will definitely be going again.

We have had a fantastic stay for NYE. Great food, entertainment and staff. Room was clean and comfortable too. Only didn’t get 5* as we wasn’t told about the theme of the evening, some of the drinks were flat and overpriced. Other than that would highly recommend. Would definitely like to come again next year.

This is the second function I have been to and I think the hotel, bar and food are fabulous. It’s not easy to get it right for a large catered function, but Mecure have definitely got the correct format for these events . We travelled an hour to get there and I wouldn’t usually bother with that , but I just like the place �.

Last night was ABBA and my 50 birthday. The hotel gets five stars but ABBA take a star away they didn’t seem to be on very long and I can only assume Bjorne and Annafride were channeling the real ABBA as I felt they were really not enjoying themselves at all and came across as v grumpy.

But it was a fabulous evening and we will Definitely be coming again .

Came for my daughters hen party last night, and most of us had a really good time ( inspite of the extremely high price of the drinks) Unfortunately one member of our party was unable to eat anything, as she needed a gluten free and dairy free meal. This was ordered and they had her name, and an alternative meal was supposed to be provided, but this was not done, so she couldn't eat anything :-(

We did complain on the night, and were given 2 bottles of Prosseco as an apology ( there were 20 of us on 2 tables) but this didn't really help her!

Also, the only other complaint was the heat of the plates when the desert came, 2 of us burnt our fingers, and the cream had just melted, l think we should have been warned that they were so hot!

Other than that, the food was lovely, and the entertainment was excellent :-)

Yes the night was good but be aware do not leave your drink and dance my gin and tonic was half full and was taken when I complain I was really accused of lying not in so many words but was told that staff do not take glasses that had drink in well mine was and I would not have said if not true so I did not buy any more drinks for the rest of the night � so the lost was yours

Went for a special event evening run by the hotel, and it was ok. The bar staff were a little slow, perhaps not used to working the bar on a regular basis. Considering no meals were ordered beforehand, however, the three courses came in quick succession out of the kitchen and the food itself was good. Music entertainment had everybody dancing and the booked live band were crowd engaging.

Reasonable room. Spacious but a random hair in the sink which guessing by thickness and color did not belong to anyone in our party.

The overall appearance of the hotel is dated and needs some tlc but ok breakfast buffet and very helpful staff.

Plus we done a theme night and waited along time for the food got one meal and waited another 30 mins for the rest

Mucked up our room booking. We booked our wedding reception and room booking over a year ago. We were promised a certain room and was told someone had prolonged their visit and was in our room. They had put us in a room no where near to our children’s room. The room wasn’t anything special (for a bride & groom) and we are very disappointed at how the staff didn’t seem bothered with what had happened.

Not on their notes apparently! My paperwork said differently.

I was part of the Wrigley hen party, actually the person who had the special dietary requirements. You were given my requirements well in advance of the evening. I did not receive one course out of the three courses that matched my dietary requirements. The supervisor did come over and apologise, and did show me the sheet they shew what I needed. Obviously 🙄 she was the only person who bothered to read it. Not really very good customer service is it if you were being honest.

The reason I didn't make a fuss at the time, is because Heather was really upset that after clearly stating what I required, you failed to deliver. I did not want to make Heather feel badly.

I also agree with her that 2 bottles of prosecco between 20 of us, was not really good enough. I had not had a meal of any sort. Also the drinks are really expensive.

I enjoyed the entertainment, and obviously the fantastic company I was in, I would not of missed it for anything, thanks Heather and all the other Hens. Of course not forgetting the Beautiful Blushing Bride 👰 Hayley ❤️❤️.

Would I recommend the Mercure Hotel ! I am afraid not.

As a guest at a cricket dinner last night, and as a coeliac who needed gluten free food, I didn’t think my main meal would be completely different to everyone else’s beef dinner. The risotto I was given was very stodgy and flavourless and coeliac seemed to have been confused with vegetarian. I got tummy ache from this so it may we’ll have had gluten in it. Whilst everyone else tucked into chocolate and salted caramel mousse, I was served an dry fruit salad - maybe this time I was mistaken for dairy free as I did see some ice cream sundaes being served at the next table. The butternut squash soup was nice - but instead of a gf dinner roll ( widely available) I was given cardboard style gf sliced white.

In this day and age the amount of information and gf food so easily available there really is no excuse for such shoddy treatment. I didn’t complain at the time as I was an invited guest. Can I suggest you revisit your policy regarding coeliac disease and gluten free catering to be able to offer a suitable dining experience for everyone.

Went last night for a girls night to see Dirty Dancing Tribute. The entire evening was Awful. The drinks from the bar were expensive, we waited a long time to get food. The tables were so packed in together that our table was constantly being bumped. Finally got our starters and asked for more bread. After awhile of not getting the bread we asked again and were told they were out just to have another waiter bring us some.



They start bringing out the mains and we witnessed a waiter (who didn't use tea towels to deliver starters and was touching food) had tea towels this time, but wiped his sweaty forhead with it. He tried to serve our table after and we refused food from him then were made to feel we were in the wrong. Once we got our mains the chicken was so dry and overcooked plus burnt veggies made it barely edible.



We then have to wait for our dessert and could tell we were purposely being avoided by some of the wait staff. The dessert was like eating styrofoam, absolutely gross. Couldn't even finish it.



Then after almost 2.5 hours the entertainment finally started and we may as well gone to do Karaoke. Completely disappointing. Will absolutely not be going back to this place and do not suggest to anyone.

Went for a girls night out to a dirty dancing tribute night,the food was awful main dinner was dry chicken with burnt potatoes and 2 carrots,desert was like cardboard and the worst part was being served by a disgusting sweaty waiter who wiped his sweaty forehead on his napkin that he was using to serve the dinner plates with.

when we refused to have him serve us and complained to another server we were made to feel in the wrong for complaining and made to wait longer for our cardboard desert.

The tribute act was awful like being in a pub with karaoke,would have been better of staying at home and watching it on dvd with the girls with cheaper drinks and better food.

Will not be returning to this place again.

Advice to anyone thinking of booking one of there nights don't bother.

Went for a girls night for the Dirty Dancing night. The food was awful. The drinks were insanely priced. Our food was burnt, the chicken was dry. Some of the servers were touching the food with their hands and one wiped his sweaty head with the tea towel he was serving with and kept serving food. When complained about our table was deliberately left out and whispered about. All night the tables were constantly hit. One poor lady with a walker couldn’t even get through the tables. Then the entertainment. So misleading. May as well go to Newmarket and go clubbing. You couldn’t even see the singers. All we saw was drunk women dancing and grinding all night. Complete waste of time and money.

I wish I could rate lower than 1 star. Went for a ladies night and it was rubbish!!! The food was horrid! Burnt and dry! The staff was very very rude and the way they handled the food was disgusting. They had bare hands touching the food, and one man wiped his sweat from his head on a tea towel and then used the same towel to handle the plates. It was very over priced, and the entertainment can't even be called entertainment. I will NOT be going back and I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! I am appalled!!
