In Poole today for a Photography Course run my Going Digital. All the birds were brilliant and Vitani our young Falcon flew brilliantly and it was his first time flying away from home, so a good day 😀

Meet Chester our Buzzard. Training has been slow as he was very late leaving his parents, he is now flying free but very nervous around strangers but he will settle with time. Will be nice when he moults out as quite a bit of feather damage from his last pen.

Well some good news. I helped a friend out last year with his breeding Falcons and repaired some aviaries after he had a big operation. He is kindly going to give me a Lanner Falcon Chick as his have just laid eggs just have to wait for them to hatch. I did ask if he could hatch one feathered up and ready to fly 😂

Sad news today. If you remember Floyd our Lugger Falcon who is 12yrs old was found to have a heart condition back in December and was put on daily medication which he has to have for the rest of his life. We tried to get him flying again but was not up to it. So a visit to vets today has confirmed that Floyd is now retired from displays etc. He is now freelofted in an aviary and we will let him out now and again to do what he wants with no pressure just so he gets a little exercise. Will miss him in my Displays as he has always been a star.

Our new License has arrived, everybody training animals for display has to have one of these from 1st April

We had the most amazing Sunday at Mere Down Falconry thank you Allan you and your birds are outstanding. We felt so welcomed by you and your talks and displays are not only informative but also funny. A day I will never forget hope to come back soon.

We had a fantastic day yesterday, Allan and Alison were very accommodating to my whole family, Allan is very knowledgeable and we couldn't believe how hands on you get! the birds were extremely friendly and were in great condition! You can certainly see they love their birds as they are looked after so well! Looking forward to a return visit!!! :)

We attended a night flying display here, it was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone. The birds are beautiful and obviously loved.

Had a fantastic day yesterday if a little hot. The full day experience was a present for my wife. She has been to others but said this was by far the best as it was so informal and one to one. The walk on the downs was certainly beautiful and the bonus being flying the bird over the open countryside was just a joy to see. So a big thank you to Mere down Falconry for making my wife's day such a memorable one. I also got to take some amazing photo's into the bargain.

Great experience with all the birds. Such a fantastic opportunity for photographers, beginners, intermediate or experienced to practise their knowledge & even learn new skills. Alan was so helpful but also so experienced with the birds well done & thanks for a great day.

Allan Thank you for my half day experience with your amazing birds on 4th july 2018, they are absolutely fabulous and for all i was apprehensive at first i still loved to hold and touch the birds!
