Merlin Flying Club

The Flying Club for Rolls-Royce plc employees and their families. Based at Tatenhill Airfield in Staffordshire. Initial PPL flight training as well as tailwheel conversions, aerobatic, night and instrument training. PPL aircraft hire and social events.

The Merlin Flying Club has been providing PPL flight training for Rolls-Royce employees and their families for over 50 years. Originally based at Hucknall Airfield, the club moved to Tatenhill Airfield in 2015.

Merlin offers initial PPL flight training, as well as tailwheel conversions, aerobatic, night and instrument training. Aircraft hire is available for PPL holders and social events are organised throughout the year.

The Club operate two aircraft. Our Reims-Cessna FA150K Aerobat (G-BHRH) is used for PPL training and PPL hire as well as aerobatic, night and instrument training. Our Jodel DR. 221B Dauphin (G-RRCU) is used for PPL hire and tailwheel conversions.
