Last weeks highlights had a more wintery feel to match the drop in temperature, despite it being calm and sunny: 10-12 Harbour Porpoise; a few sightings of huge Bluefin Tuna (impossible to know how many were involved but there appeared to be at least one school, and possibly some single fish); 9 Grey Seals on St Clements including "Sammy" now at his full winter weight and with a few recent scars by the look of him, the rest being young males and a couple of last year's pups; ...newly arrived juvenile Black-throated Diver and a few winter sea-duck including 2 Eider (as well as our resident male); Goldeneye; 3 Common Scoter; a single Dark-bellied Brent Goose and Yellow-legged Gull on the beach just east of the harbour. Now that winter is approaching Grey Herons and Little Egrets are feeding more often in the harbour (including one of the latter just behind the booking-office) hopefully soon to be joined by the Kingfishers that normally move into the Bay!

What an amazing trip!! Second time around and just as enjoyable. Lots of dolphins, seals and sun fish. And as if it couldn’t get any better I was allowed to drive to boat in and park it up! ( no passengers were injured �� ) Can’t wait to do it again next year or sooner if there is a job free �xx

We had the best time! Adrian and all the crew were so welcoming, accommodating and friendly! Would definitely go back again and we can’t wait to!!

We had such a brilliant trip this afternoon with Adrian and Kingsley; the weather made the trip absolutely spectacular and we were treated to views of the seals, a pair of puffin and a playful porpoise on our way back home. Even if we hadn’t seen the wildlife, the trip would have been well worth it for the boat ride alone. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful trip today, the crew were lovely and kept the trip interesting, and we saw plenty of wildlife. Would definitely recommend these guys, and will definitely be back next year. Xxx

We had a great 2 hour trip, we were lucky enough to see the dolphins and seals, the children could have a go at steering the boat and enjoyed their trip, would highly recommend a trip with this company, great value and lots of information about the wildlife and the surrounding coastline whilst on the boat. My husband and his sons went out today with Adrian on a 4 hr fishing trip and were treated to lots of mackerel and other fish such as long . A trip well worth doing if you are ever down this way Adrian is a fab skipper who had lots of knowledge about fishing and the wildlife that goes with it .

I took my 5 year old son on the boat for a treat and it was an absolutely amazing trip. I totally recommend it.

I just want to say a BIG thankyou to everyone at mermaid pleasure trips. You gave our family the most AMAZING experience. Letting the girls help steer the boat was their highlight and very kind. And then being able to witness the beautiful seals and the majestic dolphins was just truly awesome. Thankyou so much these memories will last with us a lifetime. We couldnt recommend you guys enough!!

Had the best day of my life today seeing all the different wildlife but to see the dolphins in Cornish Waters was like a dream come true very knowledgeable Crew. and I love the way the Skipper offered the younger children to steer the boat totally recommend this trip,so much so I've booked again to go back with my children

Had a brilliant time on the 2 hour nature trip. We saw seals, and dolphins really close up. It was amazing. As well as giving us some interesting facts along the way about local features, history, and wildlife, Adrian also took great care to find some puffins for us to look at, as he knew some people on the trip really wanted to see them. Would highly recommend a boat trip on the Mermaid.

Fantastic pleasure cruise with skipper Adrian and wildlife expert Martin. We were lucky to see dolphins, porpoise baby and adult seals, and numerous seabirds including, Shearwaters, cormorant's shags and gannets. Also a great commentary about cliffs, caves and villages along the way. Highly recommended. I will be booking a fishing trip soon.

Excellent trip with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The trip was made all the more special by watching a massive pod of dolphins. Thank you for the special memories.

Brilliant Minack/Basking shark trip. No basking sharks this time round but nature gave us a large pod of dolphins that swam around the boat for ages it was a magical experience. We also saw a juvenile sunfish, Sammy seal and blue jellyfish

Amazing trip yesterday. Very knowledgeable about the local area and we were very lucky to see beautiful dolphins in all their glory. Was very impressed that the skipper didn't want to go over to them and wait for them to come to us. Shown respect for them... Exactly why we didn't want to see them in a tank and in the wild. Brilliant value for money, you made our holiday!

All at Mermaid made us feel very welcome. Skipper and crew clearly very knowledgeable of local area, explaining where we were and brief history of each place. They also went out of their way to find dolphins which a number of people wished to see. Lovely touch letting the children steer the boat and some people climb up to the bow for a better view of the dolphins swimming alongside us. Highly recommend.
