Favourites are monkfish and chorizo skewers, the mussels, the sea bass and the mermaid platter.

Plus the delicious desserts!

Our boys eat so well here.

Portion sizes are spot on too.

We have just been for a meal for our 20th anniversary, the food and service were absolutely amazing, can't wait to come back next year x

We have been coming to St Ives for years and some how never been here before, what a mistake it is our new favourite st Ives restaurant after our visit last night. The seafood was delicious, the only bad thing was we were spoilt for choice and really struggled to decide what to order. I had the Cornish smokie, which I was concerned might be a bit heavy for a starter, it wasn't, the portion was just right and the flavour was absolutely delicious. I followed this with the pot of seafood which was like a treasure trove of lovely well cooked seafood. My husband had the scotch egg and mermaid platter and he said were both lovely too. Service was warm, friendly and attentive. What a find, we will be back next time we visit.

We had a lovely meal in the Mermaid. The Fish Platter was delicious battered cod, sole, sea bass, king prawns and a couple of wonderful scallops served with a basket of fries, battered cauliflower (new on me) and French beans.... my wife had a bread and butter pudding, which she said was nice. Great food with a great gin.... recommended

The service and food are both outstanding. We had the Oriental Beef Stirfry and the West Country Lamb. Both were so very tasty and ample servings. Superb and highly recommended!

I took my friends here for their first visit and they were blown away, the relaxed nature of the staff, coupled with great service and food that is off the chain. It was one of the most enjoyable meals I have had in years. Truly first class! No trip to st ives would be complete without visiting the mermaid.

I love this place, fabulous fish and chips and steak sandwiches yesterday. Service is just right, nice to eat somewhere when you're not continually asked (usually whilst chewing) if everything is alright?! Tucked away from the summer holiday madness too. Worth a visit.

Had a lovely evening on Wednesday 25 th July,great food and excellent service,we were a group of 18 and the staff coped well.

Excellent food and service. Our 4th visit and lived up to expectation, would highly recommend and will definitely be back again.

Beautiful place with beautiful food and beautiful service. Although (as we left it late to book... on the day) they only had a table at 8.45 left... were so accommodating and even called to move our time forward when another table was early knowing our preference was to eat earlier. The food is to die for... we came here last year and it's the only place we were 100% desperate to return to. We will be back year. The food is beautiful... so delicately cooked and seafood handled with the respect it is due. Staff friendly and atmosphere welcoming. What more can be said!

Absolutely second to none this place. Guaranteed to visit every time we are back down here now, Debbie is a little Gem she made the night for our little girl and couldn't of been any more lovely. The food was fabulous too, we left half an hour ago and are still talking about what a great time we have had. Thankyou so much. X

Absolutely delicious food.... Great service.

We had the mussels to start (shared), with the chorizo lollipops, and stuffed jalepenos.

For mains, I had the seabass, and the other half had the monkfish, chorizo & prawn skewers.

Pudding was a chocolate mousse.

All of it was spot-on. Couldn't fault the food or service at all.

The only thing I can comment negatively on is the table & chairs, other than being a bit 'snug', they were a little bit rickety.



We would definitely recommend others to dine here.
