Went to Mezze last night and sat upstairs as it was a group booking for the Holmfirth WI Committee - we had a fabulous evening thank you so much!!



The lady was very attentive, she came and took our orders, told us what we would be having, asked about dietary requirements. We started the eve with chilled Prosecco whilst nibbling on gorgeous breads and dips - the salad dressing was scrummy! So many dishes thereafter came out - a delicious mix of food - the chicken tagine was oh so so good I wonder if they'll share the recipe? ;-)



Brilliant and just can not wait to come back again xx

We picked 9 dishes between 2 of us and this was probably too much we were so full! We didn't wait long to receive our order. The food was amazing! The staff were friendly & it sounded like most people there were regulars. The place is small so I can see why you may sometimes need to wait for a table but It is worth the Wait if you had to. We will definatly return!

We eat here quite regularly and have to travel to holmfirth to do so. We moved to Wakefield a couple of years ago via London and Madrid and so to find a restaurant with a genuine tapas menu ( granted it is greek/moroccan/spanish themed tapas as opposed to spanish tapas)was a delight! The food is fantastic with generous portions at a reasonable price. The seafood is exceptional which for me as a pescetarian is perfect and the various meat tapas suit my husband down to the ground! The wine menu is really good and not overpriced and the service is prompt, professional but never rushed, even though they could turn the tables 3 times in a busy weekend service! It is ALWAYS busy which leads to a great atmosphere and it is definitely one of my favourite places to eat!

This place is beautiful! The menu is fantastic, lots of choice but not too confusing & the portion sizes were spot on for us. We will 100% be returning here... v v v impressed

The food is simply amazing. We had to wait a while for a table (nearly 2 hours) but well worth the wait. If going on a Sat, get there as soon as possible. Will definitely be returning. The service is excellent too. Nothing to fault it.

So good we went there two nights in a row! Amazing food and great service, with typical Yorkshire charm. If you like tapas (or just great food) it’s a must 😋

I've loved mezze since the day it opened! Must be 10 years by now? Never a bad meal and always atmospheric whichever the day of the week you go!!

I demanded the finest wine in humanity only to be told that the waitress didn't think the owner stocked that kind!! I made do with a "not too shabby" wine the owner is more familiar with. Great night, good food and real fun place!

Had the most lovely night for my sons 21st yesterday . Food was amazing. Lots of vegetarian options. Adam was a perfect host. We will be back and spreading the word about this beautiful place .

Had the mezze for 5 people amazing food and lovely service would definitely recommend �

Had dinner here last night whilst visiting friends in the area. Delicious meal and the owner was charming. Shame we live quite so far away or I think we might become fixtures.

Great service, great food, great wine, (that we had anyway, Merlot) very welcoming, really really enjoyed the meal.

Beautiful meal last night! The dishes came out in 3’s and when we requested a break it was acknowledged and further plates came out later! Excellent place for a fun and social meal with friends!

Amazing food. Ordered 14 dishes between 4 of us and each dish was delicious. Not sure i could narrow down a favourite, they were all that good

Went with Emma on a cheeky evening out, very nice place! Got to admit, for us larger folks the upstairs bar seating is a little ‘tight’ but as we weren’t a large party it was the only option.



Evening was dulled by two tables shouting over the top of each other to be heard. A couple who were seated after us eventually moved as you really couldn’t hear a conversation over the noise but we stuck it out and waited for the calm �



Because it was so busy, some of the dishes listed on our sheet were missed, however when this was pointed out at the time of paying the bill (we didn’t know what to expect prior to this as I have never been before so this was the only time we could query the bill) the staff gave us a few options which included being served the remaining dishes at the same time as the puddings we ordered, or we could take them home. So we opted for take out �



Ok, bad bits aside, very nice place and can see this being a great romantic spot on a quieter evening, staff were superb throughout and handled the night well, including our query, they were very courteous during our meal.



Food was fantastic, and would definitely give a second shot at an evening here.

Just had an birthday event at mezze. The food was fantastic but the customer service was shocking, especially coming from the owner/manager. A young girl served us, she was fantastic. When we asked what was on the desert menu she told us everything but one item. The manager then stepped in and completely belittled her saying "you've been here long enough now, you should remember it" he was so condescending. She was visibly shaking. Ruined the experience and we feel very sorry for the staff. Maybe the management need to take a long hard look at theirselves.

We travelled from Halifax for our pre booked 7pm table for 6 people for my friends birthday. 4 of us arrived however the other 2 were held up with a baby sitter issue ..... we ordered drinks and waited to order. The owner then came to the table telling us we had to leave the table, we explained our friends were hopefully on route but we were unsure if they would get there to eat in the time slot available. I have never been to a restaurant when I have had such behaviour, he was rude, aggressive and dismissive of any communication we tried to have with him. I would never recommend this place and strongly advice going to Aldea instead!

Four of us spent nearly £100 and came out of the place still hungry...sky high prices, over £5 for a pint of ok lager, small, minute portions, and when I asked for another scallop as only three were served, and they were tiny, I was told by the young girl serving us that that was all you got, even though there were 4 of us at the table! it was busy, but for the life of me I don't know why, but no doubt the owner won't mind as long as he's raking in the profits, a huge disappointment, and a massive thumbs down from me.
