about 4 lanes were not in use and 50% of the arcade games were out of order. also the staff were useless!

This place needs a lot of money spent on it. Most lights are blown so very dark the moment you walk in 60-70% of the arcade machines are broken
The machines are spilling pins in all directions. It is a real shame as when bowlplex opened it it was a truly impressive site but now it is just a worn down shadow of its former glory.

Went here yesterday as a big family group for my Dad's 70th birthday. The lanes were continually breaking down and the staff's attitude was indifferent at best. Finally had enough and tried to ask for a refund. A home made sign stating no cash refunds is wheeled out for staff to hide behind both physically and figuratively! This gives a good indication of how bad things are and how often they are asked for a refund.

So, unless you are absolutely desperate to go bowling, I would strongly suggest the Cinema next door as a better option, or the Frankie & Benny's restaurant on site, who gave us excellent service despite us being 30 minutes late for our table due to the constant breaking down of the bowling lanes.

Read the reviews from others. We were not looking forward to this visit. We did however enjoy, it's a bowling alley... There were some staffing issues for the bar and the amount of drinks available. However the staff we polite and good fun. 3 games for £11 each. Not so bad at all

this place is shocking, me dave jane and carl came here for daves 94th birthday. he took many kiddies into his dungeon. collin rolled a bowling ball of his mad slaphead bald patch on his head into daves dungeon. never come here. its a waste of time and kids. be careful when you do take your kids. dangerous. staff are shocking. one of them tried to get my number and started feeling me up. it was a boy.

yours sincerely,

Went there as a treat for my family, only to spend most of our time their waiting in ques to have multiple problems attended too. While prices are relatively cheap, it is a rather obvious case of you get what you pay for. Half the games were a rip off and either did not let you reap the deserved rewards or let you play at all. On top of that problems weren't properly attended too, leading to a rather disappointing time spent there.

Went here for my brothers birthdays. It has gone down hill a lot since I was last here. The lanes are broken and there is not that many different sized and weighted balls and there was no one on the food counter. I think they are putting more effort into the trampoline bit that they have in there now. If you can do not go here, go to Hollywood bowls in Taunton.

It's very tired needs doing up I must admit we come on the occasion, but most of the arcade machines are out of order toilets sometimes very dirty, litter and the trampoline place on there is ok but you get bored after 10minutes and well there's just hardly any activities on except a grill that serves basic fast food and a bar but both don't get used often , I would say it's ok if you go with friends maybe but we're not always in a hurry to go there.

To be honest the whole experience was very disappointing the pins in our lane ended up falling down every time the next person went to bowl. We had to reset the pins most of the time before the next person had their go. We had to queue for about 15 minutes before we got to our lane and even then the staff didn't know how to fix the various problems we had. Won't be coming here again out of choice. Not good.

Update: 9/8/2017 so having heard it had a bit of a revamp decided to try the summer offer, so took the kids along for a game of bowling and some Airhop.

Now the lanes are working, had a couple times were some pins didn't drop, but that can happen anywhere, seats can now be sat on as they have been re upholstered, the barriers were up, they didn't go down, but now the kids can bowl and not get balls stuck half way.

Staff were much better this time and really helpful too, only issue I had was the air-conditioning didn't seem to work and it was pretty warm inside.

2016 review.
For the money they are charging it's now worth it, and hopefully the improvement will continue.

This used to be a good place when bowlplex opened it, but it's gone down hill loads, half the lanes do not work as they should, either the barriers won't come fully up, or they won't go down, 4lanes dont work at all, it's hot and seems like the air con is broke, yet they just installed a big trampoline section.

I would rather drive the 20miles to Taunton's Hollywood bowl.

The thumbs get cut when throwing the bowling balls. The pool tables are located where you can't hit the balls without jabbing your pool cues in the side of the wall. The machines don't work which pick up the pins, there is a pin stuck. Also the machines next to the alley don't work so we have to go up and ask for a new game and then they know its broke and put new people on it, however the game is based on time so we couldn't finish our second game . Staff lacking, have to wait ages.

User

Terrible service. Booked a session for a birthday and had it cancelled on arrival. No apology and no notice that we would be unable to bowl.

Wow - this place has gone to the dogs since its change of ownership from Bowlplex. You wouldn't think it was still a relatively new building.

Grossly short-staffed considering it was the Christmas school holidays (about 3 people running the whole place from what we could see), no-one serving food at all, poor quality and range of drinks at the bar, no decent pool facilities any more, preferring trampolines instead, hardly any arcade games working, and the "music" … well you'd expect Christmas songs on December 23rd, but from an Internet radio stream and constantly stuttering? It was so distracting, it was actually putting us off our bowling.

Oh yes - the bowling. Regularly had to reset our pins as they wouldn't set up correctly, and had to call one of the 3 overworked members of staff over once when our lane stopped working altogether. Lots of other lanes out of use, very few balls available to actually bowl with. They don't even care about getting you to wear bowling shoes any more.

I wouldn't blame the actual members of staff (hence 2 stars, not 1) - they're doing their best in the circumstances they've been given. This is all down to terrible management.

We still had fun, making the best of the situation, but seriously, this place has gone to pot, and we'd seriously reconsider whether it's worth going back in future. It'll probably close before such a decision needs to be made.

Machines broken no signs up to stop people using them. Staff not very helpful would not recommend this place.
