Opened in 1969, Harwood Court was the 25th home built by MHA, and was situated in what was then a “new town”.

MHA named the home in honour of Sybil Haddock – better known as Methodist Recorder columnist and MHA supporter Margaret Harwood.

Since 1987, the dining room has been extended and a conservatory added, and many residents comment upon the friendly atmosphere. They benefit, too, from en suite rooms – evidence of MHA’s responsiveness to the changing expectations of those who move from their own homes into a more communal caring environment.
