Mickledore Walking Holidays Cumbria

We recently completed our second Coast to Coast adventure utilizing Mickledore to make all the arrangements for luggage transport, lodging and pack lunches for our entire holiday. Every detail of our 17 days trekking across England was meticulously arranged for through Mickledore. We found the B&B’s to be convenient, first-class establishments, hosted by friendly, caring owners who catered to our every need. We will certainly be returning to complete other hikes in England and will most assuredly be working with Mickledore to make sure our holiday is as successful as this one was.

Brilliantly organised self guided walking holiday along Hadrian's Wall. Took our time to enjoy the history and visit various English Heritage sites along the route. Mickledore had provided good distances that allowed us to speed up through the less interesting start and end of the walk. Accommodation was superb and all arrangements made by Mickledore went as planned allowing us to enjoy a really relaxing and stress free time. Will look to use Mickledore again for sure.

Mickledore are well organised and responsive, and they supply good quality guides and maps of the trail before the holiday.
The accommodation was all of a very high standard, in terms of the rooms, facilities, food provided and the hosts. I also had the impression I was allocated the superior room purely because I was a Mickledore customer, even though I was a solo traveler.
Overall I was very pleased.

We completed the West Highland Way in September 2017. Mickledore made the planning very easy. All of our hotels and luggage transportation was organized for us. All we had to think about was the walking! When we had questions, Mickledore was very quick to respond. Great service. I would not hesitate to recommend Mickledore to friends and family.

Just back from a fantastic 9 days (with 2 relaxing rest days) walking the Hadrian's Wall Way. We really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and fascinating history and we even managed to avoid the rain! Mickledore did an excellent job of organising top class accommodation which provided welcoming hosts, very good rooms and tasty breakfasts. The maps and information provided were great and the luggage transfers worked seamlessly. They produced a great itinerary based on our wish for time to take in the scenery and the historical sights and also sorted parking and transport back to the start. Would highly recommend them.

We have had many walking holidays in the Lake District, usually renting a cottage for a week and planning a series of circular walks. The Inn Way allowed us to walk from place to place and thus see the Lake District in a different way, somehow closer to the land. Parts of the walk are in places which are not easily accessible by car so we saw places we'd never been able to visit before. The places we knew were often approached from a direction new to us.

Walking the Inn Way improved our overall understanding of the geography of the Lake District and greatly enhanced our appreciation of all that makes it so special Everywhere we went we met warm and friendly people who made time to talk and were genuinely interested in where we'd come from and where we were going.throughout. We were very impressed by the arrangements the company had made for our overnight stops, luggage transfer and the genuinely useful information pack provided. There was no fuss. Perfect.

Had a great time on our walk on the Cotswold Way. Mickledore did a great job. April turned out to be a great time to go. I'm already dreaming about the next trail we can hike.

We walked the West Highland Way from Crianlarich to Fort William with Mickledore Holidays in July 2016. The whole experience from start to finish was really good. Booking was easy, when more appropriate (location) accommodation became available they changed our itinerary without us needing to ask, accommodation was of good quality, our bags were shipped between locations with no hassle and the packed lunches were good (first day at Crianlarich average). i guess the best form of recommendation is that we are booking with Mickledore this year to do St Cuthberts Way.

In early February we walked the Northern part of The South Downs Way. We had lots of rain and missed a lot of beautiful views. The trip was very well organized and the bed and breakfast were as always very good.
Despite the wet weather we greatly enjoyed. We look forward to the second part of the trail.
