The Black Forest Gateau is a 70s classic but we've modernised it!

From the moment we walked through the doors to the second we left, it was 10/10!

My daughter took me out for a birthday lunch , the food was excellent . my steak was cooked for perfection it was so juicy, one of the best steaks iv’e had in a long time. The staff was friendly and made you feel very welcome in the resturant , service was great too definatly would recommend .

Had a great time celebrating my daughters 16th birthday. Food was cooked well & delicious. Its a lovely place to visit as a couple and with family will definitely be going again. So many choices on the menu. Many thanks to all the waiters for making my daughter feel special. Top notch.

Fabulous food, our waitress was attentive and very sweet with my young daughter, tasty hot fabulous food, water replenished without asking, atmosphere fantastic and at ease! Enjoyed everything from the moment I stepped in the door till the moment I left and will certainly be back time and time again!!!!!!!!

Enjoyed an Incredible meal tonight with my boyfriend! It was a busy Saturday night but we still were offered a lovely candlelit table. The service was excellent despite it being busy. We ordered the chateaubriand (which was outstanding) and warned it would be at least 25 minutes. This was no problem especially as the menu said 40 minutes wait. It came within 20, and the chef served us. Really enjoyed and couldn't recommend enough!

Currently sitting in here and it’s amazing! The service has been so good, had my starter very quick, will definitely be coming back �

Beef Wellington was to die for everyone in our party of 12 was very impressed with service and food and not being rushed out as soon as we had eaten well done and thanks will definatley be back

Beautiful place - lovely atmosphere & the food ( Brie & jam starter & mussels in cream ) were delicious.... Yummy ‘Pina colada’ & the service was brilliant (wish I’d took the helpful young lads name serving upstairs on the mezz floor ?)

We had my daughter’s graduation meal. The reason l gave 4* was JJ our waiter & food. JJ was polite, professional & offered a great service. The food was scrumptious, generous portions & the menu offered a variety of dishes. We ordered various dishes enjoyed the lobster, king prawns, calamari & steaks they were flavoursome. The reason for not giving 5* was the man at the reception, he was unprofessional. He ignored us, we had to request to be seated since we had a reservation. Beautiful restaurant interior, nice atmosphere & would recommend.

Me and my family had a lovely lunch come dinner food was great , it was nice to come out with birthday hubby and daughter for a change will go back 👍

First visit, there were 10 of us yes we were early straight from work had the best 3 course meal for the money

Waitress was warm and friendly, and the service was spot on

We had a pleasant time as a party of 10 for a friend’s special birthday last Saturday. We had a booking at 7pm (as we were advised that our group size meant we couldn’t have a 7.30pm reservation). Our drinks orders were placed with a very friendly waitress, followed by our starter orders. Our starters arrived just after 8pm & were delicious. Everyone seemed happy with the quality of the food but it was very busy & therefore there was a fair gap between courses. We were asked if we wanted to order sweets, half of us did. My husband ordered the cheeseboard & asked to see the wine list to see the port selection available. To which the waitress replied “ We don’t have any ports but we could serve you a dessert wine with it”. This makes me question those who put the menus together & also the staff training given. Why offer a cheeseboard without port & also do the staff appreciate what a dessert wine actually is & what it should be paired with?

Wasn't too bad, food was nice, service was a bit slow and it wasn't really that busy..

Just had a look at the menu and realised they missed my onion rings off of my order...

Really disappointed with our meal last night. It was our first proper night out after having our daughter over 2 years ago. So wanted to go somewhere a bit special to celebrate our 5 year anniversary.

Well firstly it took way to long to order and receive our drinks. We never seemed to have the same waiter or waitress and we were seated between 2 extremely large parties. ( at least 15 on each table. ) which made it difficult to get out from our table to use the facilities.

Our food finally arrived after quite a wait. My husband ordered a burger and asked for no sauces or relish. Well of course there was mayo on the burger so we sent it back. Also it had fallen over on the plate and looked a right state. A new one arrive fairly quickly.

I ordered the steak and spice which was a sirloin and peri chicken breast. I requested medium rare for my steak. I cut into it to find it blue. I managed to flag down a waitress and she when went off to go find someone who could help.(Not sure why she couldn't help) So my meal then got send back so the steak could be cooked a little longer. All while my husband is eating his dinner alone. My meal came back but I'm not sure wether they actually did anything because it looked the same. Well by this time I was so hungry I just thought I'd eat it.

Once we finished we decided to pay at the bar so we didn't have to wait any longer.

When asked if everything was ok I mentioned the issues we had and the bar girl called the manager over. We had a chat about it and he apologised and then we left.

All in all not a great meal even after sending back both meals because they were both wrong. Service could be a lot better also.

Long waiting time at least 15 minutes before we got our first drinks over an hour wait for the food we had a table of 8 food was good but the service was extremely poor and for 10 percent of the bill very excessive.
