Went here for the 1st time yesterday, the staff were great and the food was without a doubt the best steak I've ever had. Can't wait to go back !!

We visited last Sunday for a rare lunch out without our little boy and as a treat before baby no.2 arrives. We had a wonderful time. The waiter was attentive and the food was great. We enjoyed it so much in fact, that when we found ourselves with another childless day yesterday, we decided to visit again. We had the same waiter, who recognised us and looked after us just as well. It may have been our last opportunity for lunch just the two of us for a while, so thank you for making both so enjoyable �

We had an amazing meal here last night for my daughter in laws belated 18th meal! staff were lovely and although we had a few hiccups with service they were quick to point this out and correct it all in a lovely way! We even had the manager come out to us to apologise whom again was lovely and sorted a reduction on bill for the mistakes made! We still left a tip on leaving due to the meal and staff being amazing and every1 is human and make mistakes but to correct them and make us feel valued as customers was totally made up! We can’t thank the waitress enough for sorting out a lovely surprise dessert for the birthday girl too so thank you once again we will be back for sure xx

We had a really lovely lunch at Middletons yesterday to celebrate my birthday. My husband had a 3 course lunch, garlic mushrooms, cheeseburger with fries, and a pavlova. I had a 2 course lunch, minute steak, fries, garden salad and a pavlova. Our food was served quickly by a lovely waitress. It was hot and tasty. A lovely lunch on my birthday.

My family and I had a wonderful lunch on Sunday and found the staff friendly helpful and very professional. We will definitely be recommending this to friends and family and will be back again. Thank you for a lovely experience!

My family and I had a meal here last night for my daughters graduation � it was excellent and was very impressed with the waiting staff could not do enough for you very nice and relaxed we will be back ��

Great night at Middletons last night. 5 of us for my birthday meal in a great atmosphere. Food was lovely and although a couple of the steaks were a little more rare than medium we still enjoyed them. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Thank you for serving my dessert on a board with 'Happy birthday' written in chocolate! A nice surprise and organised by our waitress without us knowing which was really thoughtful. A good night had by all.

Called in yesterday lunchtime with my partner and daughter. All had the set 3 course, everything we had was spot on. Couldn’t fault a thing and brilliant value at £9.95 each. Only downfall was the service was very slow, had to wait quite a long time between courses. Would thoroughly recommend and we will definitely go back.

We’ve been coming to you since you opened, never had a bad meal...until tonight.

The muscles starter was nice, however the warm sourdough bread turned into cold French stick, also for my wife’s starter. The surf and turf came with lukewarm and inedible prawns, that were totally unappetising. The steak was unseasoned (sure you used to have a really great steak seasoning) and bland although cooked very well. It was also extremely fatty, more than I’d expect for a rib eye. Also, did your steaks used to come with a mushroom and tomato garnish? This was sadly lacking so I basically had steak, prawns and a bowl of potato.

I was genuinely and surprisingly disappointed with what I had tonight, for what I’d call premium prices I received mediocre pub grub. It will take a lot to get me back, when both my wife and I have always held you in VERY high regard.

Nice atmosphere over 2 levels. Food is ok with fair wine selection (try the Rioja is excellent) steak overcooked (ordered medium: more like well done) : shame as meat quality was good for price ; Side order of Waldorf has good quality walnuts but marred by part wilted baby gem lettuce instead of a nice crisp cos so 3* rating - could do better. Service is good though !

Just had a mediocre meal at Middletons. We’ve been here a couple of times in the last few months and each time we’ve waited over an hour for any food!! The steak was delicious as always, but the Middletons grill was over cooked and a bit cold. They’ve also changed the chips. They’re not good anymore!! Feel a bit miffed as this was the place to come for a good steak and chips, but we may look around next time �

Good food. But had a meal not come out and had my chips chucked over table by waiter and when it came to pay the bill they wanted to charge us £13 extra but couldn't explain we're the £13 had come from and took an hour to sort this out which let to a very tired 9 month old who wanted his bed and a bad ending to a great 30th birthday meal

A few things that I feel you could improve on, having eaten there for the first time today. I had the three course lunch menu. The restaurant is pleasant, and the service was good.



The ribs were fairly cold. They needed another minute or two in the microwave. The flavour was good though, and the fat either trimmed, or cooked until gone, which is good. The presentation was excellent. Only let down by being cold.



The burger was less enjoyable. The lunchtime buns you are using are hard and dry, and make eating the burger less pleasant, especially as it seems to have no mayonnaise or ketchup by default. There was a barely visible smear of what I presume was relish, but it wasn't enough to add any moisture, and the cheese was dry and rubbery.



The Eton mess had only one small slice of strawberry, and seemed to be mostly meringue with some sugary sauce drizzled over it.



All in all, it seems like a nice place. I will come back and try your steaks soon. many of my friends have raved about your restaurant, so I will assume that I was just a bit unlucky today.



I post this just so you know what areas I think you could work on, from my experience today.

I've been here a few times and its always been good.



However the last time I went, it took 20 mins to seat us (wasn't full) then 30 to take our order and a further 40 mins to actually get food! Drinks we ordered weren't brought out between ordering and serving either we had to remind them about it.



Everyone's food was good apart from mine (Mixed grill, gammon steak and beer battered haddock) My first and second choices weren't available so I ordered my 3rd choice (lamb burger) it came out soggy and cold, with burnt sweet potato fries and one tiny onion ring. The actual meat patty was nice, but one bit of limp lettuce in a soggy cold pale bun that looked like it had only been partially defrosted kind of ruined it for me. All three of the other dishes were meant to be served with crushed peas but we had to ask twice for them to be brought over after we had our food. And they were also cold in the end.



I was very disappointed and not anywhere near being full. Some care and attention needed I think.

Food ok but cold as I waited 10 minutes for my sauce. My friends daughters burger was raw which is not good for a child and it seemed quite disorganised. The only reason I’m awarding any stars is because our waiter was fantastic. Very friendly and great with the kids! Barman however was rude and quite ignorant when I went to pay...definitely gone downhill it used to be great!

Being going to this restaurant since it opened and always went for special occasions and have been very happy, unfortunately last night was not so good food not to the usually standard and being placed right at the back near the kitchen with “service” being shouted down your ear regularly was irritating to say the least. Real shame �
