Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

About Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

The charity responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of six Midlands counties

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Description

Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK.

Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 49, 000 missions averaging 2, 000 per year, making it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK.

What is not widely known is that Midlands Air Ambulance receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Each Midlands Air Ambulance mission costs £2, 500 and in excess of £9 million is needed each year to keep its three air ambulances operational, which is donated entirely by the public and local businesses, with four in ten of those we help funded by Gifts in Wills.

the air ambulance is great, i have been so lucky in my life to be able to even write this. I am the 20 year old man in the mission reports, 5th January 2016. I am led to believe that the crew on the morning did a great job for me as i was a little bit of a mess. Happy to say now I am on the mend and wish/hope to meet the crew which helped me soon.

Many thanks and see you soon.

You guy & girls do an absolutely wonderful job.

Please do not be disheartened by the very few negative reviews. I just pray that the minority who have rated you poorly, never need to use your services.

Keep up the amazing job!

This amazing charity saved my 13 year old sons life on November 15th 2017. I will spend the rest of my life fundraising, donating and giving to my local air ambulance charity shop. I can never thank you enough. Please everyone donate xxx

Saved my life 20 years ago this year when I lost my right leg in a motorcycle accident I ow them my life how do you thank them

User

On the 9th August 2003 at 7.05pm you saved my life..... I was in a very serious motorcycle accident on the southbound M5 at Jct2 sadly my father who was the rider passed away and I was left with life changing injuries resulting in loss of right arm and leg..... Without you guys it would have been a double tragedy but thanks to the heroic measures you kept me going and Selly oak hospital rebuilt me. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart xx

My daughter jeni had a serious accident in 2013 when she was 11 at a school outing and after a paramedic then an ambulance it was decided it would be best if she was taken to Royal Derby Hospital for treatment by Air Ambulance. She is still receiving ongoing treatment and will for a long time. But she and I and our family cannot thank yous enough for all the treatment she was given and the speedy arrival to hospital. Thankyou xx

User

My dad had a heart attack at the doctors in Shepshed and you came and took him to Leicester Royal and tried everything you could to keep him alive, we are so grateful for what you did but he sadly died at the hospital. Thank you for everything you did!, me and my family are grateful. We had donations at dad's funeral for the Air Ambulance and raised £1,000. A great charity and deserve every penny. Thank you!!

User

Just had a guy knock on door saying he is from air ambulance and they are doing a weekly lottery type ticket draw using a membership number you'd be given & the prize is weekly £1000. now I always like to help this charity but when he needed my bank details to set up a direct debit my gut instinct said No Thanks. Not sure if it's a scam...is there somebody out there from Air Ambulance could shine some light on this.

User

I've organised a charity event on Sunday the 6th of September at my pub for this well deserved organisation, it's at the church tavern on high St, Quarry Bank if anyone would like to come and support it, come in fancy dress, karaoke disco also featuring my very own dj bones will be doing his bit. Prize for the best dressed and raffles etc on the day from 12 pm.

User

I've only been working in the shop now 11 weeks and the atmosphere of the staff and customers is brilliant polite friendly . I found it really easy to get on with them all as they made me feel welcome and apart of the team.

User

I'm very grateful for air ambulance for helping my daughter back in 2011, who got dragged under a reversing car, they got us to Birmingham so fast which meant she didn't need a skin graft :) they were so amazing, friendly and calm which I really appreciated as I wasn't, Morgan is now 5 years old, fit and healthy, she understands everything you all did for her,

We are now holding a bingo on the 24th March to give something back to say thank you, fingers crossed it a good success :) xxxx

User

I really cannot thank these guys enough and will be eternally grateful for saving Jon's life yesterday. They do a fantastic job and without their help it would have been a very different story. Thank you so very much xxx

User

I can't thank you enough. You came to my aid 2 and a half years ago after being struck by a tree in the jaws of a digger. Without your amazing guys Tom and Rob which I was honoured to meet last February I wouldn't be writing this and my daughter would have lost me. I owe you everything and words won't ever say thank you enough. True heroes forever.

User

I am so thankful to the midlands air ambulance, on Sunday 27th August 2005 we were involved in a huge rta, thankfully we were near raf cosford and 2 of your air ambulances airlifted my then 1 yr ok'd to Birmingham children's hospital and my now ex husband to stoke.

Now 10 yrs on my daughter is 11, she has a brain injury and has multiple problems, however she is alive, at main stream school and doing well.

I support the northwest air ambulance but whenever I see a Midlands air ambulance collection tin ( we travel lots), I put in a donation. I truly believe without the air ambulance my daughter would not be alive now.

User
