Had two bikes serviced in the past week. Really good job and no unnecessary parts or work done. Mechanics really know their stuff and are a really cool bunch of people. I now know where I will be going for all my cycling needs from now on. Highly recommended!!

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and this is rarely more true than in the case of Mike Vaughan cycles.

Having worked casually on bikes for the past few years, I feel as if I'm not a complete layman when it comes to maintenance. I asked the elderly cashier (owner?) whether a small, temporary fix could be performed to get my bike up and running (I'm aware that in an ideal world more should be done). When one of the young technicians came over to take a look he sneerlingly and dismissively recommended an expensive solution, invariably involving purchasing brand new components, then walked off without even waiting for a response.

Despite emphasizing my flexibility in picking up the bike, the elderly cashier complainined continually about how busy they were, something no business owner or employee should ever complain about.

I have since implemented this minor fix myself, and have got the bike back up-and running, a feat I'm certain is not beyond Mike Vaughan's talented employees.

It seems that many bike shops these days aren't interested in making-do and mending, they'd rather get cocky adolescent technicians to sell you expensive new components. Mike Vaughan cycles is no exception.

Unless one is purchasing a new bike, an expensive service or hundreds of pounds-worth of accessories, Mike Vaughan cycles aren't interested. However, if you want to be patronized, you've chosen the right place .

They are by no means a terrible business, they're just representative of much that's wrong with the bike shops the nation over.

I won't be coming back!

Im very late adding this review. Having been let down by Orbea for a bike which had been on order since September 2016, promised for April, then May then June... I decided to cut my loses and get my deposit back. I then contacted Mike Vaughans regarding a Trek. I found the service to be truly amazing. Helpful was an understatement, they couldn't do enough for me. I paid my deposit for the order, I was kept updated regularly by text or phone, the bike was here within 2 weeks and set up for me. Upon collection I was made to feel like a VIP. The attention to detail is so important and the courtesy call a few weeks later to check everything was ok was great. Customer service is brilliant. :) We will definitely be back when we change the husbands bike

Pretty crackers experience. Took bike in for some help with slipping gears, told I needed a gold service, £65 - but would need to book in. Took bike back in, they managed to find £200 worth of parts that apparently needed replacing including 'worn pedals'. WORN PEDALS?!?!?!?!? as far as I can tell made no effort to diagnose the problem I went in for. Won't be trying them again, no reason to think they are anything other than rip off merchants.

Just excellent service. Nothing more to say

Being a complete novice and having not been cycling for over 20 years I used Mike Vaughan to purchase a new bike. They were very friendly, patient and their advice was excellent. Any questions or queries I have had since purchasing the bike have been dealt with promptly. I whole heartedly recommend them to anyone.

having been to the shop a couple of times, yesterday was my first interaction with the boss. bought 2017 trek emonda alr frameset recently and one bottle cage mounting bolt ( riv nuts) had come loose, was rattling and spinning with the bolt in creating a nightmare to remove.

a guy came out of the mechanics area with anger all over his face accusing me of overtightening the bolts. saying i had caused the issue. talked to me as if i was an idiot. all the other staff kept their heads down at this point and got the impression this was a regular occurrence.

i have never had a problem with any bike before btw. and i explained this to him in a raised voice to make sure he got the message. when the young mechanic had finished he told me that all the mounting nuts on the bike were loose even those that had never been used so i said it wasn't my fault and the mechanic replied the frame was probably a " friday afternoon special" £700 trek fameset btw

as i left the boss who was still sat in the back mechanics area was still glaring at me.

im glad they fixed it while i waited but the boss needs a serious change of attitude.

Customer service is very poor, they appear not to what your custom Asked about basic repair and they just couldn't be bothered to look it up.

Also purchased a bike from them and they were prepared to sell anything whether it fitted me or not. This is contrary to most respected cycle shops who put the customer first and make sure that what you buying is right for you

Out of the few cycle shops I visited, I found Mike Vaughan the best. Ray was helpful in showing me different bikes and explaining to me patiently the pro and cons of each. I will be getting my cycle today and I am very excited about it.
Highly recommend this shop!

On a journey from Leicester to Warwick we needed a wheel repair. These guys could not have been more helpful. They completed the repair in a short period time, let us store some of our gear at the shop while they repaired our bike and charged a very reasonable price for a good quality repair.

I've checked my trek in for a service and was told that they need the bike for 2-3 days and that they'll phone me when it's ready (or if some other spares required my authorisation). No-one phoned in the next 11 days so I phoned them back. The mechanic said that indeed some spares are required and that it would take further 2-3 days to fix the bike. Eventually, two weeks later they've sent me a text message saying that the bike is ready. Picked it up this morning - not even a hint of an apology, just pay your bill and get out. They have not even bothered to put the saddle back to the same hight as it was.

On a more positive note, the bike seems to be fine and the quality of the service/repairs is OK.
