It's oh too easy to get lost in the information pollution and find yourself at the edge of burnout. 😲
'I'm tired' and 'I'm stressed' replaces a 'Hello' these days, but the truth is it's no joke.
Almost a 1/4 of pupils still at school get diagnosed with adrenal fatigue. When I was at school I truly had no idea what the heck that even meant. πŸ‘ˆ
... The answer is really simple- switch off, go outside, take your shoes off and have a good laugh. 😍
This bank holiday I'll attempt to do just that: remember the almost-forgotten language of nature, my body and connection. Bring on a foraging trip in the woods with real people. 🌱

APRIL, STRESS AWARENESS MONTH
In my clinic I see women, who may have what's considered 'a really healthy diet', yet they are unable to shift excess weight, sleep well or sit still. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ
And all of that is down to stress and prolonged 'fight or flight' response. Did you know that nature only intended us to be in the 'fight or flight' mode for 5-10min? πŸ€”
... This is exactly why stressing over that conversation with your boss or that huge credit card bill is really bad news for your health and wellbeing. ☝️
Yes, we can endure an awful lot, but that doesn't mean that it's good for us. Nurture your body and rest even when you're not completely exhausted- your body will thank you for it! πŸ‘

APRIL, STRESS AWARENESS MONTH
If I said that you could feel 70% calmer, happier, more focused and had better memory, better health and sleep just by sacrificing 15min daily, would you take it? ☝️
I bet you would say yes.
... And if I said you would need to do meditation for 15min daily to achieve that, would you still take it? πŸ€”
I see incredible resistance from people in my clinic when it comes to meditation. I often hear people say they 'cannot sit still' or 'cannot meditate' or 'have no time'. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ
In the society based on 'doing' and constantly moving, this practice is incredibly difficult to so many of us, but this is exactly why it's so crucial.
Try this challenge for ONLY 1 month- meditate daily for 15min, for 30 days and if nothing changes, you can drop it. But I promise you, you will never look back! 🀩

If you'd love to turn celebrations into something different than having a 'food coma' every time the family gets together, try out some different tactics and recipes. πŸ₯˜πŸ₯£
I've successfully been serving kombucha mojitos for a while now and it always goes down a treat. Could be because it's so unusual, but technically it is a very low alcohol (1% maybe) cocktail. 🍹
Add lemon or lime slices and fresh mint for extra zing and good luck explaining to family this Easter what's 'probi...otic', why you would drink something that has a 'mushroom' growing and where you hit 'the real booze'.
Happy Easter! 🐣πŸ₯

Easter is just around the corner and it's oh too easy to slip into the habit to start the rest of this week with chocolate eggs and hot cross buns. 🍩
Sugar is a slippery slope and going over your daily limit just a few days in the row can create those cravings that are impossible to resist. πŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Breathing is the fastest, most effective and best value stress management tool. ☝️
To metabolise, adrenaline needs oxygen and this is why when you are in the fight or flight mode, the breathing is predominantly from the chest, not the abdomen (how it should be, once you're relaxed). πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ
... So the antidote to this is to breathe out longer than breathing in, reducing the adrenaline and stopping stress hormones from metabolising and getting out of control. 🀯
This is my favourite little tool to use for those times, the 7-11 breathing. If you haven't tried it yet, do it right now for a minute or two. What do you notice? πŸ€”

From ancient times nature had its way to give our bodies cues on what to eat for optimum health.
With the arrival of spring, there are plenty more greens in my local vegbox, bursting with seasonal vitamins and minerals. Did you know that green leafy veg and cruciferous eg (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage) are excellent helpers for liver detoxification? πŸ₯¦πŸ₯¬πŸ₯—

What a way to feel wonderful. I’ve received faultless care from Milda. She took the time to really understand my symptoms and lifestyle in order to provide a tailor made and realistic plan that took account of all we had discussed. Follow-up care has been equally faultless. Milda has been readily available to respond to any queries and concerns and make adjustments to my treatment plan after subsequent appointment. The experience has been encouraging and life changing with the added advantage that I have acquired a whole new repertoire of delicious recipes. Highly recommended to everyone.

Really enjoyed my nutrition session with Milda. Her caring and informative approach was excellent and she was very easy to talk to. From the ease of filling in the food diary online to the inviting environment she works in, it was a very enjoyable and useful session. I'm now looking into the world of adaptogens! Can't wait to start trying the recipes you have sent me! Thank you Milda.

User

Milda is kind, patient and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her patients. One appointment in particular we ditched the nutrition chat and got to the heart of what I was struggling with, which sat underneath worries about diet. She was so sweet and hugely helpful with lots of handy tips and practical advice which I've put into action. She has a presence which feels like a calm port in a storm. Thank you Milda! xx

User

Milda helped me immensely with advice and support around my disordered eating. She gave me a recipe for breakfast which I continue to use and I now have that meal mastered. She is friendly and easy to talk to and very knowledgable. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

User

I worked with Milda last year on dealing with my disordered eating, this was a very deeply routed issue that I had been avoiding for the last at least ten years. Milda was incredibly patient with me, took time to get to know me so that she could give me the correct information and advice. I had so much information and help from tasty recipes to sleep advice, there was nothing Milda didn't think of.

If you have been struggling with disordered eating and know it's come time to get some help then please do look to Milda. She is caring, empathetic, patient and absolutely fantastic at what she does.

When I came to Milda I was broken and messed up and the only way I could think to medicate the pain I felt inside was through food. She helped me to break the cycles and habits and I will be forever grateful to her for giving me light when all I could see was dark. I can't explain how much Milda helped me to change my life, but I do believe that she can help you change yours too.

User

I have a great time with Milda learning about the Nutritional values of foods, what to eat and what not to eat. Also i learned some awesome recipes and Vegetarian Meals that are great for the body and mind also! Thanks Milda :D

User

I had the pleasure of listening to Milda at the CNM Open Day and thoroughly enjoyed her talk on β€˜Food for the nervous system’. She clearly knows here stuff on the foods to eat and which ones to avoid for optimal health. I would happily recommend her to my friends and family.
