Milestone’s latest little arrivals, so cute ! Thanks Jon for the brilliant pics .
We only stayed 1 night to break up our journey home from France and what a stunning site, generous sized and very well maintained pitches with immaculately clean facilities. We loved the telephone box book exchange, what a great idea. Staff were all very friendly. I did read some reviews about the site not welcoming children and surprisingly, we only saw 1 other child so would like to know if the plan is for it to become adults only, as someone else mentioned? Personally I think it would be a shame if that is the case as we would love to come and visit again. There's no better sound than hearing kids running around enjoying the outdoors.
This is the first visit to this site & WILL NOT be the last. Really pleased with the attitude of the staff extremely helpful & the facilities fabulous. The site is really relaxing despite being near the A1 as the landscape is fabulous......will definitely return many thanks to the wardens for their support.
This caravan park was a real find stayed first time four years ago and both John and I were hooked, lots of improvements been done showers lovely spotlessly clean site and facilities a well run site worth a visit, wardens are lovely and always on hand.Bus route to Newark handy to site.
The only downside is the constant traffic noise! But to be fair it didn't keep us awake.I agree with another contributor that there is little to do around the site.It is still a well kept and beautiful site!
Stayed one night on way home from France. A gem of a site, beautifully laid out and spotlessly clean. Will certainly stay here in the future.
Milestone is a very well run site and very well kept
the wardens . pam,Keith,Sarah,Alister are always friendly and helpful and there's always something on at Easter and Halloween and the pitches are a very good size and most are hard standing and the fishing good too and we love the place and visit it regularly
Lovely site with nice clean facilities. Easy access to the A1 and Sherwood Pines visitors centre for trail riding. We have been a few times now and really like it. Staff were friendly and pitches immaculate. What more can you ask for!
Just spent the last four days relaxing at this beautiful site.
Thank you to all the team.
Fabulous place our first time away in our Bongo just wanted the 1 night's stay over not too far from home fabulous welcome from staff.
Excellent site in beautiful surroundings just off the A1! Used it as a stop off on our journey home after touring Europe - but well worth a visit for longer than our one night! Very clean and tidy with great facilities. Loved all the ducks and rabbits wandering about the site.
Clean and tidy .excellent facilities. Great location. C u next bank holiday.
Beautiful site, well kept, fantastic showers and friendly staff. No shop on site but about a 10/15 min walk to the garage up the road. Great walk for dogs too plus a dog shower.
You can hear road noise and trains but didn’t affect sleep or the peaceful environment as we didn’t really notice it that much.
very clean and tidy site - toilets clean but only x3 showers in the block I used, but there is x2 blocks - very expensive site with nothing on - no shop or pub within walking distance, main London train line on one side and A1 on other side so quite noisy, no free wifi you can pay £3.50 a day!! won't revisit because of price - £115.40 for 4 nights x2 adults and an awning for a site with nothing to offer
This was our 3rd visit to Milestone caravan park, as always spotless and the staff are very friendly, when we was leaving we noticed our caravan had a flat tyre, being new to caravaning we didn't know where to start when it cam to changing it, fortunaly Keith one of the wardens was more than happy to help, had it changed in no time.
We have already booked for later in the year.
Update Feb 2018: lost a star for the new pitch allocation they have started, I would prefer to chose my own as before, when we got here we was told if we asked for a pitch they would allocate it if it was available, which would have been fine if they had told us that when we booked. While the new wardens are friendly and welcoming we was disappointed to hear Keith had left, if you read this Keith and Pam, good luck with your new site.
Only an hour from home, we stopped here for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Check in was very friendly and efficient, this is a lovely site with a book exchange, information centre, fishing and a dog walk. There are both hard standing and grass pitches with enough room for your car and awning. The shower block was warm and clean, the one we used had only 2 cubicles, this could cause queues at busy times.
The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is something that the owners and staff can do nothing about. The A1 runs right by the site, there is constant traffic noise throughout the day and night. Will definitely return despite this and will try to get a pitch further away from the road.
Lovely clean well maintained site.
Very helpful friendly staff.
Will visit again.
Been to Milestone several times, always enjoy the fishing but i dare say when it gets very busy, pegs are at a premium. Cant fault the site, always tidy, nicely kept, always worth a visit.
Not a bad site but no shop or public house in the village, bus stop out side camp goes to Newark , disappointed that the staff started to cut trees bushes out side our van, set all the midges off, wife asked them to stop, the answer was no only time they could do it, so for over an hour had to put up with them strimming and cutting, nice fin to out 10 days away
Nice site, very well looked after with great lakes for fishing if that's your thing. The downside is there's nothing to do within walking distance. No pubs or shops, no footpaths or bridleways. It's ok if you want to drive places bit we like to pitch up and then explore on foot. Even a play area for the kids would be nice. We won't be staying again but that's personal choice and nothing to do with the quality of the place.
