very friendly staff, excellent service, beautifully cooked food presented well.

attentive but not intrusive, staff willing to stop and talk when they are not too busy, but like all service businesses they have to earn a living. great experience, we went back again today and will be back again tomorrow. well pleased.

Went to Mill Lodge on Sunday. Had the beer battered fish & chips and thoroughly enjoyed them. The staff were lovely and friendly and service was excellent. We did go when most of Lincoln were down at Wembley

We hadn't been to Mill Lodge in a long while. Heard lots of good and bad things about the place but seeing as we had some discount vouchers, thought we'd give it a go. After a 5 minute wait to be seated, we were given a table and asked for drink order. Ordered food when drinks arrived. 20 mins later food arrived. It was lovely. Daughter and I had burger and fries, wife had thick cut chips with her steak. Normally my wife has to cut fat off steak but not tonight! Staff were attentive and pleasant. We had a great experience and will definitely be going again soon.

Staff were great, fast friendly service. Great food and great price! All male staff was greatly appreciated by the girls

User

Really lovey food. Cooked well, the steaks are moist, flavoursome and not chewy or tough. Lovely beef gravy. Well done sweet potato chips.

User

Lovely atmosphere friendly staff great food and an awesome friend that works here who I've known for a very long time :D

Having stumbled upon mill lodge unexpectedly last Sunday due to my friends having a mishap with losing there car keys during sledging on the common we where pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received by the manager and generally by all staff. We where there for about 3 hours with 3 children under 5 which is no easy feat especially when there isn't essentially anything for them to do! The manager kindly gave them coloring to do and the very kind waitress even made them snacks!! The children had tea there and the meals where substantial and of good quality unlike many other chain pubs. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and I would just like to say thank you to all the staff for being so kind and understanding about our predicament. We where not made to feel like a burden or a nuisance. A special thank you to Louise our waitress she was a very pleasant lady and is a credit to the restaurant

Building has had a referb since our last visit & it looks lovely. Food was excellent & the staff very welcoming. My only quibble (and this is probably just me being too picky) was the bar staff member who served us didn't know how to make the (very simple) cocktails on the menu & another staff member had to do it but that was ok, the drinks were fab. Overall a lovely place to visit & we will definitely come back when we are next in the area.

Always good food and great service and we were given a table after a little wait even though we hadn’t booked

User

A big thank you to all the staff for making our Christmas Day lovely we had a little hip cup but they soon adjusted things for us for it. The food was plentiful, the truffles were mmm my son and grandson loved them lol and the atmosphere was buzzing. This was the first time we have eaten out at Christmas and it was lovely having a nice table in the window with my family around me, laughing, talking and just enjoying the day thank you for making our Christmas Day special

User

Food was very good...staff very nice and helpful, only thing we waited a while for food but there was a que when we arrived! table was booked...was busy though

User

Have visited this pub quite a few times when it was table table with our usual group of friends. It is now changed to beefeater and the food was appalling there was 5 of us and after meal we all sed the same. We have decided we wont be having our get-togethers here anymore. The roast potatoes were just so hard and crunchy with no potato in them cos they were chopped so small, turkey was tasteless. Starters were nothing to shout about. The chocolate orange desert was well nice. The waiting staff and bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. No ice for drinks as ran out and not as if the place was busy. The actual pub/restaurant or whatever you want to call it is a lovely place. Just a,shame about the food. God forbid who has booked for Christmas day as think they will be disappointed. Think you best call Gordan Ramsey in to sort the cooking of food out. We did leave a tip but that was solely for the waiting staff as they were very attentive. At least you got that right but cooking is a no-no. Sorry had to put a bad review.

We'd arrived at Mill Lodge hoping for some decent pub grub.

Loaded Nachos (for sharing): Absolute let down. Apparently a sharer, Barely enough for one. No salsa. Essentially, cheese, guacamole and jalapenos on salted nachos. Not worth £8.50.

Chicken and Chorizo pie: Definitely not a pie, I come from Wigan. I know a pie when I see one. Was definitely more like a tart/parcel.

Steak, Prawn & Chicken Combo: Asked for rare steak, got a medium/well done. Served with fat chips instead of skinny fries.

Sweet Potato & Feta Lasagne: Had about six chunks of butternut squash, no feta to be seen, and more spinach than Popeye knows what to do with. Served in a cereal bowl, the bottom layer was hard, and the top layer burnt to a crisp.

Spent £70 in total, and left feeling robbed.

Their black pudding at breakfast looks like Christmas pudding! Oblivion cooking! It only takes a few minutes I think they baked theirs for half an hour!

Jesus died and was resurrected quicker than it takes the staff at mill lodge to get you a second round of

Drinks, bring your main meal, clean your table and ask if you’d like pudding

Wish i could pick -1.

Have eaten regular at the old mill lodge with a constant satisfaction, even had birthday meals there.

Today i stood at the "please wait here to be seated" sign for almost 10mins while 4 staff behind the bar, 2 staff walking around and what look like the manager (female in shirt) tidied tables. Not a hello, be with you shortly or sorry. Just left us stood there. The place wasnt even busy. Even thought to ring them up while stood there to book a table but none seemed to want to answer the phone either

Possibly the worse experience ive had eating out in lincoln in 10yrs ive been here. Went to the Elite restaurant. Was seated and served in less time i was stood with theoretical cock in hand at mill lodge beef eater

We had booked for last Sunday 31st July at 7pm for 5 people. On arrival just after 7, we joined a queue to be seated. Seating people seemed to be taking ages, although there were plenty of tables albeit they needed cleaning. Staff at the bar, ignored us and the tables. We heard whilst in the queue others saying that some of the choices on the menu were not available . When we reached the front, after stating our name, the waitress offered to show us to our table. I politely asked if everything on the menu was available- as she wasn't going to mention prior to seating. On being shown the menu - nothing other than Burgers and ribs were available. No steaks in a steakhouse! When I said, I'm sorry we won't be able to stay, she cheerfully replied 'Ok then bye'.

On reading these accounts - we had a near miss and could of wasted money as well as time!

User

Lousy service. An hour and a half wait for food between breakfast and lunch. What a joke. Couldn't find any staff for 20min. Place should be shut down and new staff and managers that know their jobs to come run the place not let current staff run the business into the ground

User

I had halloumi salad. It was very poor indeed! The dish was the following; a bag of salad leaves, one tomato cut in slices, a bit of pepper and three slices of halloumi which looked like they never even saw the grill. That was it! No dressing, no nothing. It was vile and so not worth the money
