Millbridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park

This is a very good campsite , we had been travelling and camping for 4 months and this was one of the best we visited. Excellent ammenities, good transport or walking links to York city, and a good base to explore the surrounding area. The fresh farm produce available was a bonus and a good local pub

Great little site, with a fab location near the river and easy access to York. Lovely spacious flat pitches, small quiet site and brand new facilities (almost complete, but not a problem). The owner was accommodating to us and kept the facilities clean and tidy. We will return again and stay longer

Great wee site. Lots of space, brand new toilet bloc. Showers you can actually get changed in without getting your clothes wet. Picnic table and chairs on pitch, water and hook up also.
We stayed for a few days and left the motorhome on site as there is a regular bus in to York at the end of the road.
Nice little pub in the village for an evening meal.
Chickens and even the odd turkey roaming free.
Don't know what people are moaning about.

What a fabulous relaxed site. We have just spent the weekend here and within 10 minutes of us arriving we added another night onto our stay. Andy and his family made us feel very welcome, and it's very obvious they have worked hard to create a well laid out friendly site. The site has a good, newly built shower block, and the work in progress around the area shows the owners determination to look after their customers. Just as good as a caravan club site.We have already booked to come back. Well recommended

Gobsmacked at the negative reviews!
I had a one night stay, arrived after normal check in time and this was nowhere near an issue to Andy. When I did meet him, there was nothing but a warm friendly welcome and encouragement to watch the impending sheep shearing!
The site was lovely, clean and quiet with great facilities. Toilets were clean, showers hot and the pot washing place was clean and had hot water. I cannot understand how anyone has any negativity towards this site and the owners!
On Saturday evening I enjoyed a 5 min walk to the local pub who has a 'dog bar' with free biscuits and water bowls. The human food was well received too!
On Sunday morning I had a stroll on the cycle path towards York and stumbled across Tuck Trike where you can get snacks and drinks or take your own food for picnic or use their BBQ.
I'm definitely coming back for a full weekend and will take advantage or either the bus into town or club together with mates to hire a boat. Or just soak up the chilled friendly atmosphere at the campsite...

Our first time here. The pitches are very spacious and level! The new shower block is nearly finished. Its coming along nicely and fully usable. Just the finishing touches to do. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Nice to have chickens wandering around. Really relaxing time.
I can't understand the bad reviews. Maybe they'd done something wrong and been told about it. Who knows. I would definitely recommend this place. Perfectly located for exploring the area and the river etc. Give it a go!

Recent stay in York, great location near the marina and easy access to everything that York has to offer.
Great experience away from booking a few weeks ago over the phone to access on the day. The site is basic at the moment but there are works ongoing for new facilities, we look forward to returning to seeing the new facilities however what we had available worked fine for us, if you expect 5* luxury there is a Hilton hotel in the city centre! Final comment is the about the price, it's very reasonable based on the location and free range eggs are available at a great price too for a fab breakfast, we will be back.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. The shower facilities were the stuff of nightmares- stains all up the shower, hair clogging the drain and the toilet was also blocked. What makes it worse is the owner did not seem to care. In fact he was quite rude to my husband about it when he asked if they would be cleaned. There is nothing good about this place. It's filthy and the staff are rude. Plenty of other camp sites around, I suggest you don't stay here

User

Rude and not child friendly. Despite a reasonably nice welcome although taking multiple phone calls, the owner suddenly changed moods to rude and aggressive. Our two young children tried to be nice to him but ended up feeling scared. They were accused of being noisy and we were told 'it wasn't that kind of site'-one where kids get to run around outdoors? No complaints from any other residents. Our two children (6 & 8) weren't happy playing outside after that. Facilities were basic and worn. Not enough water pressure for shower and pot washing at the same time and notices suggesting this was to be avoided. Elsan disposal facilities were stomach turning. Great location and we loved the planets cycle trail and the pub we went to in Riccall but the owner needs to understand that if he is to get repeat business and good reviews then customer service is a must. We paid less for a pitch in France in the middle of summer than we did for this site even though we are caravan and camping club members. Avoid.

Really poor customer service. We forgot the combination to the gate. Sent our son back to the caravan to retrieve. The owner saw us waiting... and decided to lecture us that we should have put the code on the phone.
Another time, he went to feed his sheep. Our kids asked could they help. An abrupt no, then suggesting they were too rowdy (after speaking to other campers - they had no issues with the kids. God forgive they have fun outside!) I am sure he then cursed infront of them..... we actually didn't like coming back to the site after that. But had paid upfront so had to stay.
Facilities very basic. Showers and washing up water lukewarm.
Finally... building work being done on the site extension. No warning. No apologies. Peace and quiet during the day - gone.
Such a shame as location good for exploring York and the surrounding areas. Fortunately plenty of other sites to choose from.
Will not be returning......
