We’ve been seeing so many positive comments on the fb Hayward’s heath gossip page , my partner and I decided to try Miller and carter last night. We were not disappointed. Met at the door by a smiling face and escorted to our table by a chatty chap.

Dan our original waiter, he was lovely and very knowledgeable about the steaks, I cheekily asked if the chef could make me a blue cheese sauce as that’s my favourite ! Dan asked and it wasn’t a problem ( 10/10 marks by me so far) . Thank you Chef!

Heather took over our table and she was also fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, she didn’t rush us , heather was chatty but not overbearing.

The food was beautifully cooked , superb . We had steaks and half lobster. We loved our refreshing wedges on the side.

Desserts were beautiful and the wine reasonably priced.

Not the cheapest restaurant in the world , but worth the money! Thank you so much to all the team . We will be back!

Went here for Mother’s Day and it was absolutely bloody lovely. Lovely staff, Ali and Mark were incredible as always!! Our waitress was polite and couldn’t have been more helpful. What a gorgeous place!! Can’t wait to go back ��

Went for dinner with my Dad this evening and we were honestly so impressed, I already thought the menu sounded amazing and it definitely didn’t disappoint! All freshly cooked and beautifully prepared, we had the sharing Long Bone Tomahawk which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We were served by Harry who was brilliant all evening, lovely and friendly with fantastic knowledge of the menu (I particularly enjoyed the fun fact about the lettuce wedge!). All in all, a great experience that I’d happily do again �

Welcomed straight away yesterday evening and taken to our table. Served by a fab waitress who was very polite and welcoming too and explained the menu. Even though the restaurant was busy the food came quickly and was superb and the waitress was very efficient always with a smile on her face, she is a credit to your restaurant.

We booked a table for last Friday night, busy as expected, but we were met by polite, smiley faces and quickly escorted to our table, Kirstie was our waitress and nothing was too much trouble, knowledgeable when it came to dietary needs.

Drinks were served promptly as were the starters, then the steaks arrived, and WOW, they were delicious, perfectly cooked, probably the best fillet steaks we’ve had, (except for gaucho’s).

As said on previous reviews, not the cheapest of restaurants but bloody good.

Look forward to coming back.

This is the first time I've been here since being changed to a steak house. Very impressed. This was a birthday meal for myself and another colleague. We were served by Zoe who was friendly and polite and a credit to you. Fast service and the tandoori marinated lamb was delicious. All the party were pleased with their food. Very happy for our free birthday bubbles and the 'happy birthday' in chocolate sauce on our desert plates was a lovely touch. I'll definitely be back!

I would like to congratulate the whole team, had dinner here last night, had an amazing evening, every course was spot on, all courses well presented, the staff were very friendly and attentive, great menu and drink choices, thank you and compliments to the chefs the food was lovely. We will be back very soon, just what haywards hearh needed.

Had a lovely meal here last night, food and service excellent. Our waitress was really lovely. I have eaten at the Miller and Carter in Lancing many times and thought they couldn't be bettered but the Haywards Heath branch has just taken over top spot. Not the cheapest night out but the expense is well worth it.

Friendly staff. Nothing was to much trouble. Fantastic food and cocktails. We weren't rushed. Not the cheapest meal but you can't put a price on quality and quality was exactly what we got. We'll definitely be going back.

Celebrated my mum's birthday! Had a great dining experience from a lovely man called Nathan who welcomed me at the door with such a lovely smile and a great laugh and very smart! to Laura who took me to the table. My server Zoe was amazing with great knowledge about the steaks and learnt some key information which will help me in the future about eating steaks. The steak (Chateaubriand) was cooked to perfection, with peppercorn sauce to compliment this...... the best mac and cheese ive ever tasted!!! Mash potato was so nice and creamy! Cocktailst to die for, Thanks Toby and Matt for such a great presentation and mouthwatering cocktails!!! Highly recommended and made my experience and mum's birthday a one to remember!! Thank you Team Haywards Heath!!

Been on 3 occasions with parents great team on all visits , harry, Georgia and tall DAn knowledgable and professional , food to very high standard and great non beef choices too.. best steak dad has had for a long time. Great wines

I’m really not the biggest steak lover but it was lovely, the whole meal was fab and made that much better with amazing service from Ryan.

I first visited on 23 June with my friend but unfortunately I was not very well so only had a sift drink and a portion of chips to eat. My friend had dinner and enjoyed it. Mupy husband booked us a table on line for 4 July for dinner. The booking was easy and straight forward. We checked the on line menu as we are both vegetarian and I am gluten free. Happy as there was one veggie meal on the g/f menu I was happy to eat. When we arrived we ordered our drinks and my husband's glass was dirty so I asked for a clean one. I asked for the g/f menu. When the nenu arrived the veggie dish was not included. I quiried this with the waiter and he said that it must have changed from the online menu. There was therefore no hot veggie meal to select. I did not want a salad. I therefore selected a veggie starter with chips for my main. The cheesy mushrooms included g/f toasted bread. When my meal arrived the bread was not toasted and I was sure that it was not g/f....believe me I know what g/f bread looks like!!! I queried with the waiter and he did not know and went to check....bread was not g/f!!!! How can you serve a g/f meal with normal bread when the menu states g/f??? I ordered a dessert....mini chocolate pot g/f with a cup of tea. I asked if they had decaf tea snd the answer was no....but they had decaf coffee which I was offered....I explained that I do not drink coffee. Normsl tea was ordered. I advised that the menu stated g/f bread was included with my meal and I did not get it....was told that if I chose another dessert I could have a free coffee....which I do not drink!!! As my husband did notvwant dessert but another beer to drink this was given free of charge. Another waiter brought out my tea which was very nice....then the original waiter brought my dessert with the tea as it should have been served with the dessert!!! We also noticed that the wine glasses on the table had lip marks on them....I would not have used them. You really need to cater for at least one veggie option on your g/f menu. This second visit has really put me off coming again. Otherwise the pub has been really well decorated and refurbished.

We were a bit disappointed with the service considering it had only recently opened. Very slow and uninformative when asking about things on the menu plus service skills very poor ie. not realising we had no cutlery, not clearing table when serving us drinks, checking how our food was, leaning over us rather than walking round to serve food, Taking 10 minutes to amend one item on bill. I would of thought at your prices you would pick & train your staff better for a new establishment? Not a patch on your Brighton one.

We arrived a 8pm and was told that there was an hour wait for food. Fair enough, we sat and had a drink while we waited and the server said she would try to fit us in sooner...that was the last we saw of her. It got to about 8.30 and I began to notice there were quite a few empty tables scattered about. Thinking they were pre-booked we said nothing until, at about 8.45 we noticed a couple came in and were shown to a table straight away. Then about ten minutes later a group of about four or five arrived and were also shown to a table. I heard both parties say they hadn't booked. I

noticed again that there were many tables free so I asked at the bar if we were ever going to get to eat. Apparently we had been forgotten. The place was busy but the server who originally greeted us passed us many times. The food eventually was lovely and that's the only reason I give a 3 star rating otherwise it would have been 1 star. My annoyance was fuelled by the manger who never even came over to apologise but left it to his staff to deal with it. The young lady who did eventually serve us was very apologetic and nice. However it shouldn't have been up to her to have to do that. A complimentary drink would have been nice, but wasn't forthcoming. A bit more organisation might be a good idea and although they were busy, it was only a small central area we were sitting in, you couldn't really miss us! If I ever go back and that happens again I wont be as gracious again.

Fourth visit and unfortunately nowhere near the standard of steak on this occasion as previous visits, steak was very dry and over cooked, my side was taken away mid meal to, i gather from a waitress, unfortunately had to leave before bill came to pick a relative up from hospital so didnt have a chance to spk to a manager. Very dissapointed as previous visits have been 5 out of 5 .

Ate there last night with the family with great hopes. Love Smith & Western in Horsham and hoped we would have an awesome steak place in Haywards Heath but sadly a rather ok steak along with 8 cold chips in a holder designed to ensure you don’t get much. Real shame, not sure will give another chance.

Not impressed. Came here for a nice meal. Boyfriend ordered a medium rare t bone, first one came out well done so sent that back for the second to arrive almost blue. Needless to say he went without dinner � oh and the lettuce wedges never even made it to the table!!
