We visited about 8pm Monday evening and it was exceptionly busy for a Monday, although we hadn't booked we were told we could have a table in 20mins which was the case.



The food was ordered was delivered to our table within half an hour, & was perfect, it's always so consistent. The service was spot on as well, would definitely recommend & will be returning very soon.

We had the butcher block from new menu and it was amazing can’t fault it atal would recommend it to anyone the staff where very friendly and helpful and the service was great highly recommend going to Miller and carters TOP FOOD ���

We had a lovely evening here yesterday. The food was amazing and the wine beautiful. The service was fantastic too. We will definitely be coming back 😊

We are both vegetarian but Miller and Carter is within walking distance so we can both drink.

We were both pleasantly surprised at the veggie options. We had a lovely bottle of red, a lovely meal and dessert and our waitress, Amelia, was very nice and friendly and gave excellent service.

We will definitely be there more often. Nice bar, too!

The service was excellent. Unfortunately the food was cold my steak was meant to be medium rare but came rare. Sent it back food was hotter. But cold plate and steak was not a lot better I really can’t understand how difficult it is to serve hot food and cooks a steak properly

Starter was a bit disappointing (very small portion of calamari for £6:50) this was followed by the best steak I've ever had. Nice wine. Get those starters bigger & you will have one of the best restaurants in the south ��

Really good food and staff are lovely. I can't remember our waitresses name but we were booked for 5pm yesterday and she was so amazing. Very chatty and welcoming. Thankyou. We will be back. P.s. The kids menu is the best I've seen. Xx

Just had a fantastic meal the the family. We had the Chataeubriand (which was impeccable) the kids meals and desserts were fab. The service by Nikita was Top Class. This was my first visit to Miller and Carter and I will definitely be back. Thank you and Well done ��

Great atmosphere and lovely staff. The food was excellent and well presented. I had half a boned chicken basted in honey and chilli and it was delicious, mum had garlic prawns served in a miniature frying pan and Maggs, my sister, had a meaty burger with monterey jack cheese. Great evening 🍾🍷🍴

From start to finish it was amazing!! The service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious � if you haven't been here for a meal yet I highly recommend it!!

Steak cooked very well, that's to say rare as you with at one. Nearly opted for the chateaubriand but that would have been excessive for one!

Excellent evening, our first ever taste of miller and carter and couldn’t thank our waitress Nikita any more. We were served to a very high standard and helped out even more by the manager Chris who was very helpful on making sure we made the best dinner choices!

Honestly a superb night and I will deffinately now be a regular customer in lancing after last nights dinner!

Absolutely love this beautiful restaurant.. the decor and the ambience and also great location.. the staff are welcoming friendly and attentive.. I have eaten here a few times now with family.. each time every meal was fantastic.. will be returning and highly recommend

Great food and service, lovely cool breeze on patio, relief from hot sunny lunch time. Not a cheap lunch but I don't mind paying a little extra for quality

We went to Miller and Carter last night for my husband's birthday meal, the place is lovely, the food taste really nice but the waitress did not seem to know what she was doing and we waited 15 mins until we got a drink and half hour before we even got a starter , I felt this was too long to wait considering it was not busy in there, the waitress also messed up the order, I felt the prices were expensive too, but we enjoyed our evening and the food would consider going again

We had fantastic steaks but the service was disappointing. We were finally given steak knives half way through eating our meal. Asking for a tea and coffee my husband's coffee arrived in a cup on a saucer. My tea arrived in a cup just put on the table?? The waitress couldn't pronounce Merlot correctly. Fairly basic for a waitress I would have thought. It took the edge off of what could have been a fantastic evening.

Very disappointed.Was recommended by friends.It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and they had run out of strawberries so unable to make the strawberry cocktails we ordered.Had run out of banofee pudding and steak was average.

Nice outing. Whist the flavours were amazing and the meat quality tip tip and fantastic service I'm struggling to share the online excitement over the famous Tomahawk cut and the price... not convinced I'd choose that again. However the neighbouring table had the butchers block, if only!!!! Lesson learned.

Have been to miller and carter many times and we decided to go for my sister-in-laws birthday. She is a regular but the last two times she had to send her steak back as it want cooked how she asked for it. I ordered well done and when I cut into my steak blood came out, and my sister ordered medium and it was so rare it was practically mooing! However I cannot fault the staff especially the assistant manager Holly, she couldn’t have been more apologetic and gave us a very good discount. We are not sure if we will eat at this miller and carter again which is a shame as my sister-in-law and brother live locally and use it regularly.

Good good, although the last couple of times we've visited the starters haven't been that hot and the service is still really slow :-( which is why last night we only had a main course but it still took 1hr 20mins from being seated, getting drinks, a main course and then the bill, good job we didn't have three courses at that rate as we would have literally been there all night !!! If they sorted their service out I would have given 4/5 stars.

We will not be coming back. Since the refurb in March it has gone downhill. We arrived at 4.45pm for father's day meal and my daughter's 7th birthday. My daughter got her garlic bread starter but we had to wait nearly 1 hour before we got our mains ( we didn't order a starter) I was getting increasingly agitated not helped by overhearing two members of staff say" this is the calm before the storm" really? Why has it taken so long for us to receive our dinner then? When it eventually came there was no apology for the wait. The food was ok but my side salad/ slaw looked just like the coleslaw but with no dressing,in fact it resembled a small veg stir fry. When it came to exchange the voucher for the free peroni ( fathers day offer. That was nice) the member of staff asked me to show it her on my phone... she then took my phone away saying she would be back in a minute... couldn't see where she went! After a couple of minutes I went looking for her to find her at the till with some confusion on how to deduct it from the bill. I told another member she had my phone and she was told to give it back to me...she walked straight past me and I had to call out to her twice that I was right there, again no apology.

The toilets are terrible since the refurb don't like the shared corridor. Filthy. No toilet roll in one and water all over floor from what looked like the toilet brush. Went back over 30 mins later and still filthy with no toilet roll.. shouldn't these be checked?

We used to love coming but for that slow service and filthy toilets and no apology to pay over £62 We will take our business elsewhere...

I did e mail I April regarding a visit then and heard nothing back and that was through a survey you sent me...please do not bother to send me another one... I will go to the Longshore in shoreham next time where it is clean, efficient and the staff are friendly.

Was such a fan of M & C but our last visit this week was such a disappointment. Having recommended the restaurant and its great food we booked a table for 8 people (many of the group were eating here for the first time). We had to arrive earlier than we'd have ideally liked to accomodate the group but on the plus side we were early enough for the 'lunch' menu. Starters served in good time, drinks a bit slow but whilst waiting for our mains and chatting and laughing within our group, nothing raucous, we were told to quieten down by the manager! I really felt like it ruined the evening and most of the group felt that they would not return to this restaurant for how we were made to feel. We were seated on the lower level of the restaurant, not our choice, but if this affected the acoustics then unfortunately this was not our fault! Such a shame.

Very disappointed with the service, very slow, over 45 minutes to get starters, the food when it arrived was luke warm and mediocre, staff not paying attention to customer requests. After choosing from menu being told that particular dish not available, staff seemingly unaware of what dishes are on menu and their ingredients!! Surroundings nice, but will not be returning, far better places than here to eat much better food �

Sorry folks but the service was abysmal yesterday. Admittedly it was busy but nowhere near full. It was about half an hour or so to get our starters and exactly an hour to the minute before our mains arrived. Not impressed today, I'm afraid! Friday 15th September 12.30.

Really disappointing wine request was wrong and steak request was medium and it was almost raw. Will not be going there again. Again this is a chain just interested in turnover rather customer experience.

I’ve been a fan of this place for a while now but the last few times I’ve been I’ve been let down! You’re a steak house,,,, teach your chefs how to cook steak! Medium rare is how you suggest to have most of your steaks so surely they should have that down to a fine art! But no, rare and still cold from the fridge! I told the girl serving us and she said she would have it chucked back on the grill! How’s about it’s just done right the first time! Neither of us finished our plates! In fact there was pretty much the whole meal there and again when asked if our meal was ok??? ( the plate isn’t empty mate) I said it was basic and kind of pub grub and still got slapped with a full bill and had 3 of the staff staring at us! Probably won’t be back if I’m honest! Not to lancing anyway

Having been here before many times and recommended it to others, l looked forward to coming here this evening for my wife's birthday.

It began well and the garlic bread and nachos were great. When my wife's 12oz steak arrived that was ordered well done arrived it was barely medium. I returned it straight away. I had the lamb rump with dauphonoise potatoes. The potatoes turned out to be frozen in the middle. This plate went back too. Chips this time.

My wife's steak had been put back under the grill and now the bits that had been cooked were now cremated.

From a restaurant that prides itself on it's steaks this is not acceptable. Basic cooking skills missing in the kitchen.

I returned both plates. Completely ruined what should have been a lovely evening out.

Spoke to the manager to inform him what I thought, paid for the starters and drinks and left.

Will not be returning or recommending anymore.

Came here a few weeks ago for a birthday, been lots of times before, disappointing as half the food was unavailable, also waiting time for food extremely slow.

Went yesterday for 1st time, food was good, service lousy, seemed to be forgotten after we'd ordered our food. Won't be going back

Terrible service, burnt burger bun, burger dry. Lipstick on glass had to change it. And a whole rack of ribs nearly dropped on one of the customers next to us but he caught them. Birthday treat!!! Not such a birthday treat. �
