Went yesterday for the first time, we were served by delightful and friendly barstaff, the Cornish cider was fantastic, our table service was carried out by a young lad by the name of Ben and I couldn't fault him ( I gave him a tip and I'm usually tighter than a submarine door)
The food arrived promptly and was well beyond my expectations, the best burger I've ever had to be honest, the portion size was more than adequate and the chips were piping hot, cooked to perfection without a drop of grease.
If I have 1 gripe, and it's a tiny one its that the coleslaw portion was a bit on the small side, overall I was impressed with the whole place and most importantly the food.
Would definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting again.
Went with Wifey on the Saturday .....very enjoyable experience.....had a few lagers before we were shown to our table ....was really spoilt for choice with the menu ....so the misses had ribs & I had a t-bone,must say cooked to perfection & had the Hazelnut chocolate bomb for afters
Absolutely top drawer ...well recommended
Found all the staff very professional and really pleasant...service with a smile
Would just like to say a big Thank you to our waiter Andy ......what a top guy ...yet again service with a smile & his attention to detail was something else 10/10
Hopefully we will cross paths soon Andy

Went last night as birthday treat of my friend x omg the food was amazing ! Thought 18.95 was a bit expensive for a bottle of wine to be honest but as a chef I know that's how restaurants work ! 5 star from me!
We dined there yesterday evening for the first time and we all loved it. The food & service was perfect. It’s the first time we have all enjoyed our meal together. We will certainly become regulars here
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Steak was cooked to perfection, chips were thin and crunchy with a soft inside and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. I don’t even like onions and the light loaf that accompanied the meal was to die for. Made my birthday and graduation celebrations extra special. Was worth every penny for the way the food is presented, how professional the service and surroundings inside look and most importantly the quality of food
My husband and I were treated to a meal at this lovely Restaurant for Mothers Day . On arrival we were shown straight to our table by a very polite, smart gentlemen called Matt . Our drinks order was taken and arrived very quickly giving us time then to browse through the varied menu.
We were looked after by the lovely and attentive Rebekah . We didn't have to wait long for our shared starter of garlic bread with cheese, lovely and hot. My husband then had the Bacon and steak Burger with fries, lettuce, tomato and dressed slaw.He said "It was succulent and tasty ". I had the 8oz Sirloin Steak , Jacket potato, lettuce wedge and a garlic and black pepper sauce . The Steak was really tender and went down well with a large glass of Shiraz. We both decided not to have a dessert as we were full to the brim.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit .The staff were pleasant and smart. The Restaurant has a great, relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone Thanks to Rebekah for looking after us .
My hubby and I have always been a fan of M & C but this was our first visit to your Lowton steak house and must say we were very impressed. As always the food was excellent and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Our waiter Andy was very attentive and we wanted for nothing. It was our 47th wedding anniversary and he helped make it very special. Thank you to all at M & C and I have no doubt we will be returning very soon.
I can’t fault a single thing .... it was simply delicious. 4 of us went to tea we were greated by a lovely gentleman who showed us to our seats . The waitress was faultless... lovely and friendly and certainly knew the menu . The chipotle chicken starter was to die for it was delicious I opted for the rump streak with beef dripping sauce . One word “amazing @ then deserts and cocktails to follow . I can’t wait to go again . Fantastic.
Had a great time with friends and my fiancee, and the food was top notch, and our table host Andy was always making sure we was ok and that our food was ok and if we needed any more drinks. Would defo recommend if you haven't been yet, and will be going again soon myself.
Had a brilliant family meal last night it was by far the best steak I have ever eaten .the waitress was brilliant .the only complaint I have it the lady on the bar ignored us and served people who came after us and when I said something she was quite rude .
Great welcome and lovely service from all the staff too. The atmosphere is very nice and chilled. We picked from the set lunch menu which had lots of choice and was reasonably priced. The quality, presentation and taste of the food was fantastic! We'll certainly be returning
Great food and great service. The fillet steak with a porcine mushroom and black garlic sauce was superb, topped off with sweet potato fries and an iceberg lettuce wedge with a blue cheese dressing. I had nachos for starters and found the portion size a little too much, the prawns would of been a better option. Would recommend and we will be back.
Called in yesterday afternoon with my friend. The service was great, friendly waiter. The food was delicious we both had Buttery Chicken but would have loved the steak and lobster when we worked through the fab dishes on the menu. The desserts were just as good. I had creme brûlée and my friend had Banoffee, it was so tasty and very filling and we felt really spoilt.
Makes a lovely change from the fast foods that seem to dominate local area.
We will make sure bring friends and have wine and starters and enough time to relax in the friendly atmosphere next time.
My wife and I and our two sons had reserved a booth prior to our secend visit . Very good medium ribeye steak with sweet potato fries was the highlight for me ! Calamari with garlic mayonnaise for starters and banofee pie for dessert tasted so good also !! Attentive staff and pleasant surroundings make it well worth a visit if a little on the expensive side .
Had a lovely meal last night, we had booked online & arrived a little early, so we had drinks at the bar & were given a pager,it was awhile till we got a table, think the pager did not buzz!? Waitress was friendly & food was delicious, the only thing I would say is maybe put some bar stools at the bar for people waiting for a table as they're was no tables near by as it was very busy. Shall visit again.
Food is great, service is cracking (even if the starters come a little too fast) only lose one star as it is on the high side on prices. Family of 4 and my bill was £150, (yeah ok we had a couple of cocktails) but gets a thumbs up from me.
Biggest wish, a choice of steak on the kids menu would be a massive plus!
The chicken schnitzel meal I selected was okay. A decent portion. But all meals spoiled by frozen french fries like you get at Mcdonalds. Very disappointing as steak houses should serve chunky or home made chips. Lack of any side salad or veg was poor with a token tomato or lettuce leaf. Better garnish to finish mains would suffice. Service a little slow for limited lunch time. I was unable to use lemon with starter as it was just dumped into the mayo dish. Very messy. One of the main steak meals arrived cold at the table and had to be rejected. This wasn't acceptable for the person concerned as she had to wait more time for another. Some little service issues would go a long way.
The reason for 2* is not the food which was nice, not the service as our waiter was nice enough, but the wait to be seated. We had table booked for 8.30pm and didn’t get seated till 9.15pm! Even thou another couple who came at 9 got seated before us! It’s not great especially as you felt like you have to get another drink so it actually cost you about £20 before you are even seated! I don’t think that’s acceptable and it spoiled the whole experience. Would I book again? I will have to think next time, maybe book for 7 we might be seated by 8......
My family and I have eaten her 7/8 times since moving to the area last December, but will most probably not return after our experience on Sunday July 22nd.
Service was quite slow from the get go, this didn’t bother us too much as we were chatting and having a few glasses of wine. Starters were great(sticky chicken, calamari, and scallops) we waited maybe 45 minutes from the starters till mains and the 2 fillets were over cooked. We sent them back as this was the second time we had eaten over cooked steak
here.
With the mains we had ordered garlic mushrooms and sautéed greens. The mushrooms came with the original dishes and got sent back as they were on the plates. The greens arrived with the second set of steaks but no mushrooms. Tom our waiter informed us that he hadn’t brought them earlier as we didn’t have a meal to eat them with. My assumption is they had been sat on the pass for the 20 minutes it took to get our meals...
As you can imagine our lovely night out was heading south quite quickly now. The steak was cooked perfectly this time but
completely inedible. It had a lot more fat and grizzly bits than I’ve ever seen on fillet steak and should never of been given to a paying customer.
We asked for the bill and we were absolutely mortified at how much we had been charged for a piece of steak that ended up being fed to our dog.
The icing on the cake cake in the apology from Tom... “we haven’t had any other troubles tonight”
Hmmm what to say to that? We are not trouble makers we just enjoy going out for dinner and didn’t expect for a second to have the poor evening we ended up having.
