Whilst having a random ride on my motorcycle I saw Miller & Carter as I was riding past, so swung back round and parked up behind it. The staff were very accommodating and needing a table for 1 I was seated straight away even though it was quite busy. Being a Chef myself and in the trade for around 16 years I can be very critical on food when I eat out, but cannot complain whatsoever as my food was spot on! Had the grain fed ribeye steak and lobster mac n cheese and the steak was cooked to perfection! Nice charcoal texture on the outside and soft, juicy and succulent on the inside! My meal came out hot and I only waited roughly 20mins. My experience with numerous restaurants and this one is that it gives the feel of middle class gourmet dining and the prices do reflect that. This is by far not an expensive restaurant for the quality and type/style of food that they serve and am very surprised of the amount of reviews stating that the food is overpriced, it is gourmet dining and maybe these people don’t understand what the concept of good food means and the cost of premium food. If you want cheap food - shop in Iceland otherwise if you want decent top notch food with a friendly atmosphere at a reasonable price then I highly recommend eating at this establishment!

Went for a meal last night for 2 of us and can’t recommend this place enough!

As we walked in we got served immediately by our lovely waiter Francois and was seated to our table. Such a great atmosphere and a beautifully decorated place. The cocktails were a must have and the food was to die for!

There was one minor mix up with mine and my other half’s steak as we had each other’s that we had ordered but it didn’t phase me because it still tasted amazing!

Shall definitely be visiting again!

We had a fabulous lunch today ordering from the very reasonably priced Lunch menu as well as from the main menu.

Friendly and professional service (Pavvy), good selection of wine and gorgeous food.

Was treated to a mother's day meal on 11th Mar. It was my first visit and can say it will be the first of many. The staff were attentive and service was excellent. All of our food came out at the same time and was hot. Our steaks were gorgeous, cooked perfectly! I can't wait to return! Great place and staff �

This was our first time @ a M&C. As soon as we arrived the service was impeccable, informative and friendly.

We chose the Butchers Block and I can honestly say that these were the best steaks I have ever had - they were cooked perfectly (for us)...the flavors were awesome and the sides/sauces were to die for!

Thank you Connor, Bex and our Grill Chef Barry for making my 50th birthday a memorable visit - we will be back! x

I’ve been to M & C numerous times in Epping Forest so was really excited when one opened in Bedford! Had a birthday meal here on Saturday and it was a wonderful experience for both myself and my friends. The restaurant is always busy (so book early) but the staff customer service was great and the food was also well presented and lovely ! I’ve recommended it to some different friends already for one of their birthdays shortly! The location by the river is really nice too .. it’s just what Bedford needs.

Left dissapointed but surprised when I was chased down the road inviting me and my daughter back as they have had a reorganisation and found room. Every time we visit, the food and service always exceed expectations. The staff are always attentive, professional, friendly and can't do enough for you. The food is always beautifully presented and is by far the best steak I have ever had. It's definitely our favourite place to eat and we look forward to our next of many visits. Best thing to happen to Bedford in a long time!

Had the lamb dish and it was amazing. Staff noticed it was my birthday and brought me over a little cake with a candle in, a very nice touch. They also were great with our two young ladies.

The main itself was absolutely perfect, the steak was delicious. I would however give the desserts a miss as they were really not worth the price. Our server (millhouse) was extremely knowledgable, friendly and really made the visit a great one! Next time I’ll opt for a main and grab dessert elsewhere.

Nice environment, feels quite classy for a date night. Service was ok- drinks took a while which would be fine if it hadn't been a quiet Monday and we could see the bar staff standing around chatting. Drinks were fantastic though, if a little pricey. Food was delicious and good value on the January set menu- food service was fine, nicely spaced out. Bill was incorrect but immediately sorted. Toilets let down the standard of the place. I would go back and recommend to friends and family.

Very lovely when you walk in, had high expectations due to it giving off an upper class vibe including the price. However this is not the experience we had. The kitchen open for customers to see and we witnessed one woman chef constantly picking inside her ear and wiping her nose with her hand then returning to food and another chef coughing into his hands then returning to food! We continued to watch the kitchen run with food being sat under the heat lamps for a good length of time, our food arrived and was well presented and nice however my onion loaf was stone cold! At the end I told the waitress about our experience and the disgusting hygiene the chefs display openly and she informed the manger who came and spoke to us, both the manager and the waitress were very polite and apologised several times which I appreciated however the manger informed us about some troubles they had been having with the extractor fans which had been making the food cold quickly but unfortunately is it a good enough excuse as basic food hygiene expects temperatures of food to be checked before being served also expects basic hygiene to be maintained like washing your hands when touching your face or hair etc, he also commented that the food doesn’t stand for too long which I also know to be untrue as I saw a steak meal sat under the heat lamp for a long time. Was very let down with the place as it is fairly new to Bedford I expected a lot better, the manager did take one meal of the bill as a good gesture which I appreciated however other people should keep an eye on what goes on in the kitchen.

If you want to pay over the odds for below average food then go here! The waiting staff are brilliant, but the chef clearly doesn't know what he's doing. I should have known when a hunk of lettuce drizzled in bottled dressing was served as an 'appetizer ' what was coming! My husband's rare steak came out raw, my medium steak came out rare, both as tough as leather. Accompanied by a microwaved jacket potato and chewy (possibly microwaved) garlic vegetables. The quality was on a par with an average beefeater but the price was inflated to something much greater. Once bitten twice shy! Will not be wasting our eat out budget on average food again.

DO NOT come here if you want quality steak cooked well.

Staff showed no empathy when delivering bad news of something not available on the menu. Food was ok above average but not what you pay for. Overall an ok experience to visit for the first time but not sure we will be revisiting again.
