Taken here for my birthday meal. Our waiter, Kall, was extremely pleasant and informative, doing his very best to please us as customers. At 7 months pregnant I was delighted to see a range of 'soft-tails' as I have struggled ordering suitable drinks when dining; I'm usually left with a lemonade or water so it was great to feel a little more special on my birthday. We had the share platter to start which was warm however I believe this is due to the time we took ordering our mains after it arrived: nachos were light with plenty of sauces, the garlic ciabatta was gorgeous and the duck wings were the real star of the show, sticky and succulent. Kall then cleared our table within minutes, asking us if we enjoyed our starter. My bistro steak was cooked to absolute perfection and I highly recommend for any customer. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his t-bone steak and most notably, the stuffed bone marrow side dish - incredibly soft, melt-in-the-mouth and just how pulled pork should be. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert however I will definitely be returning to explore more of what this fantastic restaurant has to offer. Thankyou for making my birthday so wonderful!

User

On arrival people queuing, even though they had booked, kept been told someone would be with us in 5 mins, waiter who was nice enough looked under pressure from trying to serve 15 tables at once. why no staff, after ordering meal, asked for ketchup, which arrived as my wife was finishing her meal. Decided at this point to skip dessert and leave, I have been to your establishment in harrow which was decent, can only describe this one as shambolic and will not be visiting again!!!

User

Nice environment for a relaxed family meal and chat. Waitress was friendly, polite and attentive.

Food was of good quality and good portion size.

Would recommend people try it.

User

Had a great evening, two of us had just started a slimming work diet so looking at the menu it didn’t look like there was anything much we could eat. The waitress was extremely helpful and thankfully we both managed to stay on our plan. The only disappointment was there was no healthy dessert option so we went without. Would suggest more healthy options in the menu. The food we did have was delicious.

User

A group of 7 went. All had variations of steak. We had the sharing platters for starters, which was good. Didn't try the macaroni cheese bit. I had a bistro rump medium rare. Ross who was on the grill cooked to just how I liked it. Thank you. All happy with our meals and service was very good. Will certainly go again.

User

We had sticky chipotle chicken wings for starters, (which we shared). That was sticky but no heat.

Mains - I had 8oz sirloin and hubby had ribeye steak both were the star of the meal, as they should be. We both loved our steak sauces, his was beef dripping mine was mushroom and garlic (?) we both found the lettuce wedge a bit too much and quite tricky (as in messy) to eat. The small salad on the plate was a bit of a waste also.

For dessert he had, sticky toffee pudding, which he loved and I had, Miller bomb, which I loved and just about managed to eat, with some help.

All in all, we’re glad we went and price wise it wasn’t awful but enough that we would only go once in a while and I’d go veggie next time.

Thanks.

User

Visited with a group of friends as they had been previously. My reason for not having visited M&C before, was purely down to pricing. Their steak menu is priced on par with many exclusive London eateries. Although, my fillet steak was cooked to perfection by a young chap named Ross.

I would not visit again due to my reasons above, as I prefer the experience when dining in London’s restaurants. The restaurant was busy and this is a good few months since opening, so must reflect happy diners.

User

Travelling back to Greenford and traffic awful so stopped off for lunch! Great service food a bit dry but all in all good experience would recommend it! 👍

User

Great food, but portions on small side, just meant we had room for their amazing puddings. Very busy so service slow but we were out for the night so not in any rush. Look forward to visiting again.

User

Great evening spent first time trying the restaurant out, nachos were amazing, fillet steak ( well done ) was amazing all over experience was great however we were seated right near the entrance , I personally wouldn't have a table right opperiste the door I would have that as the reception however never mind I also would recommend more staff at the bar , and the cookie desert wasn't what me and my partner thought it would be it was just a cookie and then ice cream I personally thought it would of been a hot cookie and ice cream on top however all over good evening spent.

User

Fist time my husband and I have been. Atmosphere great, waitress attentive and lunch time three course good value. The only thing I would change is the puddings, as two puddings had caramel in. Maybe when doing menus again do a lemon torte or lemon posset with shortbread. Other than that we will be back very soon x

User

Went here for 1st time for my Birthday as a treat. The restaurant was very quiet but it was a Monday so not surprised. The decor is quite nice a bit dark but you can see they are aiming at the quality feel. Our waitress was very attentive and she served us with no problems and kept checking we had everything we needed. I had the calamari for starters which came in a bucket with paper as a rule I don't like food in mini buckets I prefer plates or bowls but that's personal choice. I was kinda expecting calamari rings but it was little pieces deep fried. It was nice but greasy. The Mrs had the bread board platter which was lovely and the left over pesto we kept aside for dipping in later. I had the 16oz Rib eye steak medium rare with the porchine mushroom sauce. Steak was lovely not much fat on it but I still think £28 is a lot to pay for a steak. That said it was really nice and I polished it off. I had the sweet potato fries which again came in a mini bucket..aaarrrg...these got poured out onto my plate. I also had what looked like half an iceberg lettuce with garlic mayo and padano cheese flakes. Not even sure why this came in a wooden bowl with the dinner but I ate some of it to give my jaw a rest from the monster steak. Mrs had the slow cooked boneless beef rib, which she enjoyed, I nicked the left over gravy to add to my steak and wished I'd had that at the start as it was very nice. I had a couple of pints of Estrella (not on the drinks menu by the way but they do draft beers, wether this is intentional so you opt for the more expensive bottled beers I don't know but I had to ask if they did drafts) and the Mrs had a soft cocktail which she loved and a couple of diet cokes. To me it looked like a large bowl of ice with a bit of squash, I forget what it was called. Mrs had the ice cream for desert and I declined as the steak filled me up. Total bill was just shy of £80 plus tip. If I didn't have a £25 voucher for my birthday I think I would have been a bit unhappy paying that much for steak and chips. The steak was lovely and I've eaten a fair few in my time so they really can be hit n miss. I am not going to rush back there as I felt it was overpriced for what you got. If it was a special steakhouse not part of a chain and in the city I'd have expected to pay that price but it's not. It's a tarted up Harvester without the salad cart and no doubt a slightly better clientel. I have given it fairly generous 3 out of 5. Just because it's expensive doesn't necessarily mean that it's worth it, I know it's not all that comparable but I've had nearly just as good 14oz Aberdeen Angus steaks from a Weatherspoons for a third of the price. Like I say it wasn't really all that special for the money.

User

Nice restaurant chain and have used Bromley and Worcester Park so far. Good choices on menu and have enjoyed the food. Staff have been good and they worked very hard on Sunday evening at Worcester Park as busy.

They need to improve aircon at Worcester Park as the restaurant became too warm in the evening other than that happy to use again and recommend M&C to others.

We took our son last night for his 19th birthday. Both my sons ordered king prawn starters which they really enjoyed but was a very small portion. My husband and I shared calamari and cheese baked mushrooms. It was the smallest calamari I have ever tasted which was a real let down. The cheese mushrooms were tasty which made up for the calamari being so awful. I had the 8oz sirloin which was cooked just as I liked it & food was hot. The others had 12 oz ribeyes & sirloin and we all enjoyed them. The waitress was very friendly & helpful but my only one thing I would point out was that we ordered an expensive bottle of red wine which she just plonked on the table and we were not asked to try the wine beforehand & had to pour the first class ourselves. I was a bit shocked when the bill arrived and feel it was a bit over priced as I still felt like I was in a Harvester. The tables looked the same & the toilets had not changed. I’m not sure that I would bother going back again as at almost £50 ahead I felt was a bit overpriced just for a steak !

User

I suspect very much a chain restaurant experience. Staff were polite but It was obvious they were following a script. Steaks were tasty and well cooked / presented but as noted in other reviews side portions were quite small. May go again but will not rush back !

User

First time trying out the place last night with my wife and kids and a family friend, yes the place looked great but the food on the other hand was poor, my kids had the cheese burger and meatballs for mains, my son didn't eat the burger as it was too tough and my daughter complained the meatballs and pasta tasted horrible, I ordered the 16oz rib eye medium rare with sweet potato chips which cost me £27.99 and I wasn't impressed either, firstly my chips were all burnt and cold and my steak had a fair bit of fat on it and had no seasoning what so ever, if I hadn't of put the beef dripping sauce on it to give it flavour I'd might as well of been chewing on a sponge. My steak was more like rare as it was still very bloody and the family friend ordered a small steak medium rare and it came back well done. For the prices of the food it's not worth it.

User

Booked a table for this evening. We arrived on time but had to wait 15 minutes for our table. We decided to go to the bar for a drink while we waited, slowest service ever! Then we went to find out if our table was ready as I think we was forgotten about. Ordered rump steak medium. Mine was well under and blood was on my plate. Yuk, couldn't finish it. Told the waitress but she didn't care. Ordered pudding and our spoons were Plonked down on the table with no new napkins. Too over priced and not good enough service.

User

Went there for Father’s Day very busy need to get some air con it was so hot I opened a door had a lovely breeze but one other table said they were cold a kept shutting the door to my displeasure, ended up having to go out side and waiting for my family, they ran out of steak and red wine we were left waiting a long time for out food, felt sorry for the staff running round and sweating ,food was nice but a little over priced ,please think that when a place is packed it gets too hot and uncomfortable look to get air con fitted, will be a while before I go again

User

We knew the visit was not going to go well as soon as we arrived. The Manager ignored us, then told us we were early (10 mins). Told to go to the bar and he would find us when our table was ready. I had to find him and he didn't remember our name.

Service was awful. Very slow. Over 2.5 hours to have our meal. Our main course took over an hour to arrive after ordering. Clearing the table between courses took forever.

I stated on the reservation we would be ordering of the set menu, although we were given the a la carte menu and then had to ask for the set menu.

We had 5 adult meals and 1 child meal. My son had the kids burger with bacon. The quality of the bacon was awful and he could only eat a tiny bit of it. Complained. Was told the chef and manager would be informed, but it wasn't even taken off the bill.

When ordering desserts I told the waiter not to disappear as we would order immediately, he disappeared, eventually returned. I asked if they could come out promptly. They didn't.

Bring back The Harvester! At least you got served by a waitress that chased things along, made the desserts herself and out was never that slow.

We asked for the bill as our desserts arrived, it came, but then took another 10 minutes for the waiter to return with the card machine.

All in all, a very poor first impression. Felt extremely stressed after the whole experience.

It seems you are more interested in having a younger staff, a cooler image. But of you fail to keep your customers happy, you won't be getting people returning. We certainly won't be!
