Went to Plymouth Miller&Carter today afternoon. We were very enjoy the meal and all service .It was our favourite place as China House and we have been so surprising in very positive way about new look inside and out .Prices not so bad compare to other good restaurants .Staff nice and was so wonderful to see our special person manager Tom ! Definitely will be back there .so relaxing and lovely place ! Well done you all ! ��

We went for lunch and knew that the day was being used for training. We had a warm welcome when entering the restaurant and shown swiftly to our table. The look and feel of the restaurant has been greatly improved. All staff were great from start to finish. With the beautiful weather today were took full advantage of having our coffee on the balcony over looking the harbour.

The food was amazing and we definitely will be returning.

We visited for lunch today and it was absolutely fantastic! Our new favourite restaurant. The food was incredible - every single bit of it & the staff were all very pleasant. The drinks - (softails) we had we absolutely beautiful. We both wish we had room for more food & drink!

The toilets were also so clean and fresh which is such a delight as they are often a forgotten part of many restaurants.

However, overall we were so impressed - also loved the decor, feel & ambience and will 100% be returning very soon. We wish we could make the opening on Friday now!

Very pleasant well presented venue. Didn’t book ahead, just walked in and were seated immediately, with staff being very helpful. Had an 11 month little man with us, so requested if his portion could be brought out when it was ready, which was done at no fuss. Food was awesome, steak cooked perfectly and the recommended brownie for desert went down a treat �.

The food was exceptional and serving staff very capable and friendly. This was our second visit in 2 weeks, the first with 11 of us and the second with 5. I cannot fault the service or food which was cooked to perfection. I hope people are not put off by negative reviews as it's good to give new restaurants time to prove themselves. The menu choice is excellent.

Omgg! We ate in the First Dates Restaurant (which is a steak chain restaurant) not so long ago. It was very disappointing to say the least. Tonight we ate here, right on our door step. We paid a similar amount of money and got so much more for our money not to mention an amazing meal! It is the best steak We’ve ever had! The staff are lovely but then it’s lovely to see the familiar faces from before.

I visited your restaurant on the 8/7/18. My wife who suffers from epilepsy was unfortunately taken ill and suffered a seizure on your grounds. We were helped by a lady who works there. We re not sure of her name but she had reddish hair in a pony tail. We just wanted to say thank you. She was absolutely amazing, she was calm and helped as best she could. She was a massive help and she deserves the utmost credit from your company. Thank you again. We will definitely be returning. Not only for the great food but also for the service and help we recieved from this individual

Best service around this amazing beautiful setting and food was 1st class from being seated quickly to the amazing food we all had (5 of us) nothing was too much trouble from the FOH team the lady in question was Kiah left us plenty of time to choose our selection asking if we wanted any more drinks � her service was 2nd to none with a perfect sirloin cooked to perfection chef � was called josh would definitely recommend the set Sunday menu � will be back �����

My wife booked a table 3 weeks ago, had previously been to a Miller and Carter in Birmingham. Arrived 15 mins before booking, had to wait 30 mins for table to be available. Most Staff clearly students, although our waitress was top notch. Only issue was a cockail that arrived, had seen guy who made it almost knock it over and half went on the bar ! He brought it over, after my complaint, apologised, brought another one and knocked it off the bill. Apart from that, food was great, service was fine and will go back. Give it a chance, staff need more experience but that will come in the next few weeks.

Well, we had a averagely enjoyable evening. Food was okay, although Lobster over cooked .



It was my husbands birthday and I decided to give this place a Try, he didn’t know we were going for food until we pulled up outside.



Upon leaving I wanted to pay the Bill, however he insisted as he had cash, so I tried to go 50/50 but he wasn’t having it. So he paid for his own treat, well, as we said bye and headed out he quickly went to the toilet and I stood at the bar just slightly out of site from the staff.

To my amazement I heard the staff somehow finding amusement at what had just happened regarding the bill. And one of them even saying “well didn’t she say that was her husband? “ so he should be paying anyway” and then more nattering carried on which was more low key but still aimed at us.

Here’s the thing... although we’re married and share an account, we still earn our own cash and can choose to spend it on what we wish. ( after all women want to be equal nowadays don’t they �, or that’s what they all say) Hence why it was my money, not our money I wanted to spend on the bill. ( after all it’s the 21st century) And by the way No, we weren’t the “couple” you thought you recognised from obviously a previous night/day whatever, we have never been to this restaurant before.



Who knows what else I missed or maybe misheard, however I would suggest if you want to talk about diners, you make sure they have left first �� it turns a happy customer into a slightly P****d off one. Hence the rating .

Extremely slow service. Sat in the main thoroughfare from the kitchen, with staff running around constantly. Waited a very long time for starters.....40 minutes +.

Starters were disappointing. The steak meal was very nice and cooked very well. But all in all for £100 for 2 people including 2 alcoholic drinks, we thought was a little overpriced.

Was very disappointed, booked a table for 8 family members as it was my husband's birthday, got shown to are table ,that was fine ,all ordered are drinks and looked at the menu everyone ordered either burgers or steak ,I don,t like any of these so I ordered "Buttermilk Chicken Experience" (recommended by the chef) it,s a boneless chicken brest fillet .The waitress took are orders for starters and then for mains ,i specifically asked her that mine was completely boneless she replied 100% boneless .We all enjoyed are starters ,then waited for are mains ,they were all brought to the table and I thought wow that looks really nice ,a bit to much chicken (not complaining ) so I gave my husband a couple of bits ,I then carried on with my meal ,I had only taken a few bites from what I had left on my plate and my husband found a bone in a piece I had given him ,I stopped eating what I had left and called the waitress over ,I said to her in an appropriate manner that when I asked you ,you said there is no bones then how come there is ,next minute this women came over I assume maybe a manageress and asked what my problem was I explained the conversation that I had had with the waitress and her reply was well a chicken does have bones ,my reply was well maybe you should have put a caution beside the description on the menu saying it may contain bones and not that it is boneless ,if i thought for one minute there was a bone I would have ordered something else ,I found her to be very rude and thought she had a very bad attitude ,I felt that this incident had spoilt what was meant to be a really good night out . I will not be going back to this restaurant again .1

Venue is perfect, decor very nice, Waiting staff were lovely, wine was tasty and that’s where the positives end! Wrong sauces were served with the steaks, steaks had no flavour to them, a bowl of iceberg lettuce wedge (what’s that all about) served with the wrong sauce, creme brûlée was shocking, even the manager was embarrassed! Over priced, stereotypical chain restaurant. Would rather pay the same price and eat a proper tasty steak in the steak and omelette bar in the town centre. I can honestly say I won’t be returning!!

Hottest day of the year! Business meeting planned with 13/14 people at 18.30 - "sorry don't serve food outside after 5pm" - sorry then as much as this establishment looks great in many ways, you let yourselves down there.

Oh and not one member of staff came outside to clear away glasses and we had to empty the ash trays before being able to use them!

Very poor meet and greet service.

Look for new business meeting venue, added to agenda.

We went herefor my birthday last night .

Everything was fine until the bill.

Card payment was taken from 3 of us when the server realised she was charging our cards to the wrong table number .

She went off to speak to the manager and came back and said,we have refunded all your card payments and now I need you to pay again.

We asked when the money would go back on and she said straight away.

This wasn’t the case though as my friends card that originally went through was now declining.

We asked her to ask her manager again ,she came back and said it should go on straight away.

We tried again but to no avail

We wrote my friends details down for them to call for payment 24hrs later once refund had gone back on.

Nobody came back to the table to collect this.

So as we we’re leaving we waited for the server and manager to come down the stairs.

The manager Brendan stood on the stairs in the middle of the restaurant and said.’one of you needs to pay for it’!!

We said we did try and pay but the refund which was their mistake hasn’t gone back on ,he just kept saying it should have.

He continued to argue with us in the middle of the restaurant while customers ate.

He should of apologised for the mistake on the table and appreciated our efforts to make payment.

We couldn’t believe how rude Brendon could be when they fault was from his side.

why wasn’t our payments just transferred to the correct table number???why did all transactions need to be refunded ??

My friend managed to get signal in her car for online banking and transfer money to the card again.

We went back it to pay the remaining £36 owed on the £135.70 bill ,Brendan again didn’t apologise or say thank you for her doing this!!

We will not return again!!

I think Brendon needs some more customer service training days because you should never stand on the stairs and talk down to people or tell them it’s their mistake to sort out!!

Such a shame as the food was lovely but my birthday was ruined by insufficient management training!!

If I could give it 0, I would. Where shall I begin? First of all, we waited an hour for our food. The lettuce wedge accompanying the steak came a full half an hour before our food, I can’t understand why. To taunt us, I presume. The food finally arrives at long last. One of our party ordered a medium well steak - it was medium rare at a push. When it was returned to the kitchen, it came back within minutes, clearly microwaved. When this was pointed out, the manager was asked to come to speak to us. We waited ten minutes for him to grace us with presence, only to kick us out within 30 Seconds for having the audacity to complain!

Had a table booked for 17:15 for myself and my mum for my birthday Saturday night. We arrived on time and were seated quickly however they positioned us directly under the staircase in a corner completely secluded despite the restaurant not being very busy at all. After 20 minutes, we were eventually asked if we'd like some drinks, these arrived and I politely asked if we could be seated elsewhere however no one ever returned to our table. After 50 minutes, I was on the phone to another local steak restaurant booking a table in attempt to salvage our evening. We got up and headed for the door, we were approached on our way out and politely explained our reasons for leaving. The gentleman was extremely apologetic and didn't charge us for the drinks. Appalling service will never be going back.

Food was amazing...... everything else was terrible. boiling hot day but could not sit outside as they did not have enough staff working to cover outside!! this was bank holiday Monday! ordered 2 pepsi's that took 20 mins to arrive, then found out that the lunchtime 2 course special menu was not available but could not see anywhere that said excluding bank holidays! we heard at least 3 other parties come in and ask for this and leave when they were told it was not available, we had ordered our drinks so decided to stay and take a hit on the price of lunch! so over 20 mins later our drinks arrive and shortly after our starters which were amazing and very tasty...... unfortunately we then had to wait over 45 minutes for our mains and then a further 10 minutes for fries that never came out with the meal. the one star is for the food as it was lovely...... just everything else let it down. it wasn't even that busy.... lots of empty tables etc.

Awful service, absolutely disgusted! Walked in for a table the restaurant was dead hardly any customers in there and they said they’re all fully booked yet when we went online to look there was still tables available then they cancelled them all of a sudden. Staff are very rude and the manager too! They obviously can’t cope and have no clue how to even run a restaurant and have no experience in customer service!
