Went for my husbands birthday last night. It was the best steak I’ve ever had and our waitress Alisia was absolutely amazing she was friendly and did everything in her power to make our evening extra special. Would definitely recommend xxx

We called in on the off chance we would be able to eat. Front of house was very friendly and efficient. She explained that they didn’t have a spare table but if we were prepared to wait she would do her best to fix us up. After half an hour we had our table and the food was excellent the waitress did a good job as she had quite a few covers to service. But never stopped smiling. Overall a pleasant experience.

Visited this established to celebrate my gogeuos wife's birthday and was made very welcome..... Chateaubriand was to die for arrr so so tasty compliments to the chef ..The waitress Loren was very good at her job and she was so helpfull..A credit to to Miller & Carter..hope she gets a pat on the back from management for her professionalism...

Oh my goodness where do I start?! Booked table online - really easy to do. Turned up 10mins early, the place was packed waited in the queue & the hostess acknowledged us waiting letting us know she knew we were there telling us she would be with us soon, when she returned from showing the couple in front of us to their table she apologised for our wait & showed us to our table, she took our drinks order. The waitress came over with our drinks & asked us if we were ready to order. She explained that some things on the set menu weren't available. We ordered, starters arrived, the food was great, plates were cleared, mains arrived, again food was amazing, ordered more drinks they arrived promptly, table cleared & pudding arrived- heavenly. Everything ran smoothly, fast service, fabulous food, friendly service, bill arrived- very reasonably priced for a very enjoyable evening will definitely be returning & would recommend. Well done. Keep up the good work. Compliments to u all.

My wife and I were in last night. Shay was our waiter. We started with a couple of old fashioneds at the bar. (I highly recommend the chocolate old fashioned 👌) we started with the bread and olives appetizer which was good but the bread was a tad burnt. I have the buttermilk chicken and the size did not disappoint! The gravy was absolutely amazing as was the creamed corn. My wife had the BBQ chicken and she is very picky about BBQ, but again we were impressed. For dessert I have the brownie and she had the creme brulee, we couldn't finish them! Probably the best mean I've ever had. And shay was adorable, he was so sweet and very soft spoken we loved him! I live in America but the next time im in town this will be my first stop!

Excellent meal last night (I had the sea bass and my partner had the rib eye, both cooked to perfection). One member of the bar team (I didn't catch his name) was telling us about the new selection of non-alcoholic spirits and was really knowledgeable in his drinks. Our waitress Poppy was really lovely, heard her to talking to other diners too and she really knows how to communicate and read her customers. Nothing was too much for her and she was always smiling!

To the two who stood out to us, it didn't feel like you were just doing your job, you really did come across as really enjoying what you do. I felt if there had been any genuine issues, you'd be happy to help in anyway.

We just turned up, no booking made. Seated quickly, staff were lovely. Both had steak and they were lovely. I just have issues with the accompaniments that arrive with the steak. A lettuce wedge, onion loaf ! Personally rather have basic steak and choose the extras myself. I did swap my lettuce wedge for broccoli but sadly that was nearly raw and quite tough. Would go back though.

We had a lovely meal and the waitress was very attentive. We have eaten in the restaurant before and really enjoyed it. However we were seated in a different area on this visit and I felt slightly disappointed as It felt a bit shabby, the carpet was threadbare and did not look clean which put me off a bit. The ladies toilet also sadly let the place down as it was shabby and did not feel clean. I cannot fault the food or the service however the place feels like it needs some TLC.

Lovely food as always, can't fault it, and the waitress was lovely. Young lady with blonde hair I'm afraid I don't know her name. The only reason I haven't given five stars is because we had to get up and ask twice for our bill. It seemed the waitress (a different one to who was serving us for the evening) forgot about us because when we asked again she didn't even act like she had already been asked. We got our bill and then continued to wait for quite a while to pay. We were trying go get someone's attention to no avail. We ended up having to take our bill to the bar and pay it. And even then, we had to wait (no staff) a while to pay there too. It wasn't particularly busy and our waitress ended up coming to sort our bill out at the bar in the end because no one else came to serve us. This was a good 30mins after we had asked for the bill in the first place. Unfortunate I can't give a five star review as the rest of the dining experience was great.

Beautiful meal last night could not be faulted. Only fault was gossiping staff due to a man having to go off in an ambulance causing our drinks to take half an hour to arrive and then one drink was wrong. Apart from that loved it and will be back!

To start off with. The guy that took the booking over the phone SHOULDNT be allowed to interface with customers, enough said on that...

That said once there the staff were really nice and I couldn't have asked for better service. The food was ok and after a few items being sent back to be cooked how we required it was a good evening.

Would have given it higher rating if not for the way I was spoken to on the phone and the problems with the food. All in it's a plesent place reasonable food and nice waiting staff.

We booked for my mums birthday for 10 of us yesterday (30/12/16) we were early as they didn't open till 12, we were 1st customers through the door but seemed to be the last served! We have been there about 20 times before but never had a problem! We were given the lunch menu to be told 20mins later that they are serving the set menu so wasted time, once ordered we had started which were great but again waited for plates to be cleared, once the mains came it seemed ok but for some reason everyone's mains were served without chips as they came separate so after having my steak which I had nearly eaten before chips came close to being served! My wife had to wait an extra 5 mins for her meal as we don't know why hers took ages! My sister in law asked for well done steak which was pink and bleeding, she asked for it to be further cooked and they did but it come back still pink so asked again n yet again wasn't done properly bare in mind this was still the same piece of meat! I love the food there but the service has become awful, lots of new restaurants to compete with now so will be taking my business elsewhere in future.

Visited for lunch for the first time on 7th July. The food was quite nice for the most part and the staff seemed friendly. However the place was overrun with flies. I expect a few but this was ridiculous. Their explanation was that a member of staff had accidentally left all the windows open overnight. We moved tables as there was about 15 flies around our table alone ,near the front door. Was moved to the back of the restaurant and it was just as bad. Unfortunately i have to give a low rating as i couldn’t relax and enjoy my, rather expensive meal, while constantly swatting flies away. Probably wont be returning.

Pretty disappointing. Can't help but feel as though the quality has decreased in the last few years. Much of the food was dry, presentation was somewhat lacking and cuts of meat weren't the best. However, we did have a fantastic and attentive waitress hence 2/5.

I’m leaving a 2 star review, i would infact say, the food & service received from our waitress was deserving of at least a 4 if not a 5 star rating!! The reasoning behind my 2 star review is simply based on what happened next!! So what did happen last night to ruin an otherwise faultless evening!! A table for 6 was booked in October for a birthday celebration, on booking over the phone I was informed of a deposit of £5 per person was required, no problem, I got the £5 off the rest of the party and the booking was made, a lovely evening was had last night, It wasn’t noticed until this morning that the deposit of £30 was infact not knocked off the bill as we expected. So 12pm arrives and I decide to call Miller & Carter, I spoke to a gentleman, I explained what had happened, his words were ‘so you didn’t check your receipt properly & we didn’t knock it off’ seems like a 50/50 error to me’ quite rightly we didn’t check the receipt fully but then we booked the table 2 & a half months ago & a few drinks had gone by once the evening had come to the bill paying end, I thought that comment seemed a little unfair, but then it was followed up with a ‘it’s more your fault than ours’

After a few choice words, the gentleman on the phone stated if I could prove I had paid the £30 deposit with a bank statement or receipt then if I called up to show them, they would indeed refund me the £30! A pain in the ass to make the journey back up but then I was kicking myself for not going thru the receipt with a fine tooth comb so took that one on the chin, A few hours pass by and I indeed call up this afternoon with mentioned bank statement, showed the guy I had spoke to earlier, who found our booking and receipt from the previous night, he then says, I can put you £30 on a gift card!! I said no, i owe everyone £5 so I can’t split the gift card, and why should you benefit from your oversight! To which he said that was all he could do! So the short of it is, they are benefitting financially from a mistake that they made! And looking at trip advisor at some of the reviews, I’m not the first person this has happened to! I wonder how many times they get away with it!! Fuming was not the word!!!!!!

Take my positive feedback back. Hubby went in here yesterday and they refused to make him something vegan. Offered him a bowl of veg!!! Said that new bosses wouldn’t let them deviate from the menu. Hubby is transitioning to vegan so took the easier option and had a vegetarian meal. After all their replies saying they try to accommodate everyone, they go and alienate a growing group of people

I know this is a steak house, but omnivores have vegan family members who like to join them for meals

Seeing as though the review I wrote has been removed I will try again! Four of us went last week for a second try as went two years ago and said never again! Ordered rib eye steak - it came under cooked, full of fat and was a waste of £21 to say the least!! Waitress said that rib eyes are fatty like that - told her I have had rib eye at enough places and I know exactly what it is and that there's is the worst I have ever had! She said she would get the manager I told her not to bother as we would never be returning again!!! Over priced rubbish food! Sat by the kitchen area where the 'chefs' were laughing loudly and banging things at the waitresses, very professional and nice when dining!! The waitress also had hygiene problems which was very off putting when serving meals! Will never make it a 3rd trip there that's for sure! Over priced rubbish food with staff that need training up!!

Having been twice before a while back I wanted to surprise my husband with a family meal for his 50th birthday on the 31st of March. When we got there we were shown to our table straight away which is where the good experience of our visit ended..

After being seated we had a starter that was just ok but nothing special then we waited about 20mins to have our order taken for our main, I had a rump steak and my husband wanted a treat by trying a grass fed sirloin which he had never tried before at around £25 which then took about another half an hour only to have a bowl of lettuce brought out then 15mins later the steak dishes which even the presentation was amateur at best looking like a 10yr old had put the arrangement together, the waitress if you can call her that put the plates in front of us and we thought where are the chips to go with it? They were brought out separately around 10mins later to which I had already eaten most of my meal. My husband wasn't happy with his meal and said the steak was no different than at home to which we realised that the stupid woman had given us the wrong plates!!

I had already eaten most of mine and let my husband have the little bit that was left on my plate so at least he could try it. Completely ruined the night which a 50th birthday should be a special occasion. The desert which we waited about another half an hour for was garbage and put us both in a mood due to the whole experience. We will never ever step foot in there ever again or any other Miller & Carter's now.

This food isn't cheap and cost us £105.00 in my eyes money absolutely wasted due to a stupid incompetent woman. We will always warn people off going there and waisting their hard earned money from now and wish we would have gone to McDonald's instead for better food at a fraction of the cost. We hope more people choose to spend their money in reliable restaurant chains and give this place a wide birth.
