Cage of Fear went back into training with Fergal O'Brian Racing last week after coming to us for a short holiday 🏇 Hopefully he is feeling nice and refreshed after his break with us. Milo has been with us a couple of months to see if we can get him back into ridden work and he is now showing a lot of improvement. His last run was in 2013 and then he has spent most of the years being a companion but his owner wanted to see if he would be able to enjoy a bit of hacking out and schooling. Milo is a very sensitive big horse who did find it hard adjusting back to a lifestyle of been on a yard and starting work again. We have allowed him the time to settle in ...at his pace and as he has been out of ridden work for a long time he needed to be in the right place both mentally and physically before we asked any questions of him. This month he has now started realxing in the school and hacking around the estate happily with the company of another horse. Classified is a 6 year old, 16.2hh mare who retired sound from Racing in August 2019. She came to us straight out of training a few weeks after her last race. Classified started her retraining in September 2019 and then had some time out in November / December before restarting her training in January. She is a stunning mare who learns very quickly and really enjoys her training. Paddy has been with us for 5 weeks to get his ridden work restarted. Having previously only shown in hand, hopefully he will now be able to enjoy a few of the ridden classes with his owner this year! He is 15 years old and a lovely friendly little horse who wants to please and he has enjoyed getting back into work again! Savello is 14 years old, 16.2/ 16.3hh and is currently being retrained. He has recently competed in an Intro Dressage test and was perfectly behaved at the show, travelling and standing on the horsebox.
Savello's owner is looking for him to find a permanent loan home. Ideally local to the Midlands / Warwickshire as she wants to keep in touch and visit him. He was a very good horse for his owner and all potential homes will be vetted and require references. Contract will be pu...t in place.
Savello is a lovely boy but not without a couple of little quirks! He came to us with a mounting issue but has improved loads since starting his retraining. He is fine for the rider to be legged up and can now be got on from the mounting block with a bit of assistance from a handler on the ground.
He is a forward going ride in the school and out hacking. Savello will suit an experienced tb rider who is happy to accept him for what he is. We have introduced him to coloured poles and maybe with time he might get a bit braver but I don't think showjumping will be for him! He enjoyed his Dressage and he might take to Hunting but he would probably be a strong ride.

Marshall and Phoebe had great fun on Sunday joining the Clifton Pony Club for their childrens Christmas Party! They had the most amazing time and everyone made us all feel very welcome. Huge thanks to Savannah for the invite. It was certainly a different sight seeing 3 little grey ponies in the back of the horsebox! Hopefully Marshall and Phoebe will be able to join in the fun with everyone again next year. Phoebe absolutely loved her outing, at times a little bit too much ...but Marshall kept smiling and laughing and even after a very near exit out of the side door he wanted to do more! She is the perfect little pony for him and he adores her. Matt was definitely kept on his toes with the cheeky little pair! #cliftonponyclub #ponyraces #millsstables
