Some of our resident oldies taking shelter from the rain yesterday.

We're pleased to say our phone lines and internet are now fixed and we're back to normal. We had an engineer out today and the fault was squirrels chewing through the line.

User

The phone calls have now been diverted but there is no answer machine and we can only access facebook from home, not the shelter, so please still bear with us. Thanks

User

We are still having problems with our phones and internet, please keep trying, we are waiting for the calls to be diverted and an engineer. Thanks for your patience

WOW a massive thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Pets at Home Love to give VIP campaign. We were awarded Ā£250!!!! Along with our Ā£65 of lifelines thatā€™s a great big Ā£315 of food for the shelter. Plus three little toy mice for the kittens to play with. One of our resident cats Elton was very impressed heā€™s off to tell the others!

User

the staff at millstream are fanstastic they are so helpful. I went to millstream and could not decide between 2 cats in the end I went for jasmine she is just so perfect and has settled in so well the staff have kept in contact with me over the last few weeks about jasmine also they let me know the other cat has now found his forever home all I can say thank you to everyone at the shelter and it feels like jasmine has been with for ever x

User

When we went to meet them the first time we outlined what we were after, were given fantastic advice and left our details with them. Little over a fortnight later, they had two kittens ready for us to adopt. They gave us loads of advice and made us feel really confident about looking after them. They even threw in a case, some of their lighter food pouches and a couple of toys and beds that they had been using. It's been over two years since we went there and our kittens (I know their cats now but they are still kittens to me damn it!) are doing great and settled into our house straight away. All down to the care and supervision given by the shelter before we got involved. So thank you for helping add to our little family..

User

We sadly lost our cat just before Christmas and did not want his food supply to go to waste so we decided to take it along to Millstream. The place is lovely. Cats roam happily with everything they need. The staff are lovely and were so welcoming with our 3 children, involving them in giving snacks to the cats and letting them see the kittens. There were a few cats just like the one we had lost and they didn't even mind me walking around blubbing! Thank you Millstream, we'll be back with more food in the future.

User

This place is amazing! The cat's are so well loved and looked after. It's huge and very clean! I wanted to stay longer. We are so pleased with our crazy kitten. Geoffrey has settled in and is a part of our family. But he's desperate to get out into the big wide world!

User

This is an amazing place. I could have spent hours down there looking at the kitties when I came down to choose one after my old boy died.

The ferals are such characters & love the special rooms for elderly kitties.

They try & match the right cat to the right person, which is very important.

I bought Tammy, who is now Eponine. A 6 month old black & white baby who is mad as a box of frogs!

So me and my other half had been after a cat for a while and last week we adopted our Millie!

Iā€™ve got to say Debbie was amazing about the whole process, so so helpful and was there for advice whenever it was needed. Would highly recommend, these cats get so much love at the shelter and get looked after so well!

Thanks so much x

Millstream are such caring people and a wonderful organisation. We adopted our beautiful Diego via foster home 2 & half years ago.

Today they came to the aid of a stray who we nicknamed Kitty off our street, who unfortunately we ourselves were unable to rehouse due to us already having half a dozen of our ownšŸ±, but have been feeding for some time.

KittyšŸ± appeared injured so we contacted Millstream and they have have taken him into their care. I feel relieved to know he will be in a warm safe place tonight and feel sure he will soon find a loving forever home.

Many thanks and kind regards to all at Millstream.

It has been almost a year since myself and my fiancƩ got our kitten Nala from millstream animal shelter. The people there really seem to know what they are doing and give great care to each animal. Since we first got her she was so shy from being left out in the wilderness before arriving at the shelter. It took a few weeks of toys and coaxing her out from under our wardrobe before she started to be more confident. Now she is the most confident little kitten, and an absolute pleasure and addition to our small family. I cannot thank millstream animal shelter enough.

User

User

Called in on Sunday to have a look around. The cats all looked so happy - many were actually happily wandering around. It was a sunny day yesterday and we spent time sat on benches cuddling cats. The staff gave the cats lots of affection and were very helpful to us. Highly recommend for donating to or sponsoring cats irrespective if not adopting yourself.

User

User

Amazing rescue centre. Myself and my husband arrived at the centre and was overwhelmed by the amount of friendly cats that greeted us. As animal lovers we have recently bought our own house and can now give a cat a loving home that he deserves. Within half an hour we fell in love with the most beautiful boy cat. We go and pick him up on Sunday and I could not be more excited

The centre is amazing and all the cats are very well looked after. You can see the love, care and attention that the staff provide from making these sad, abandoned cats into a happy and healthy cats ready to find their forever home

If you are looking to rehome a cat I would highly recommend Millstream

User

Amazing place and friendly staff, every single cat is well cared for! I brought a lovely 10 year old tabby cat by the name of Cleo. I definitely recommend visiting the shelter if you are looking for a cat x

User

Very rude staff. Spoke to me and my husband in a very belittling way, like we didnā€™t know anything and like we where and inconvenience when we where just there to offer an older cat maybe one that no one wanted a home. Iā€™m also a veterinary nurse so The cat would have had an extremely good home. The lady clearly just didnā€™t like the look of us (never judge a book). Went to Tameside animal shelter who where very friendly and happy to help.

User

Me and my family visited this afternoon looking for a young male as ours was killed in an RTA a while ago. I can honestly say I've never been so offended. It was like they were talking to a naughty child, not a 26 year old veterinary nurse. The two women we spoke to, one of whom thought it was okay to be eating her gross smelling dinner while taking us round, didn't seem particularly knowledgeable and seemed to be looking for excuses for us not to get a cat. I cannot believe how rude and unprofessional they were. I'm just going to wait until some other heartless person dumps a litter outside my practice, as was the case with my previous cat.

User

Just been to Millstream looking for a new kitten /young male cat. I can honestly say that I have never felt so patronised and to be made to feel I knew nothing about how to look after a cat. Will not be rehoming a kitten or cat from there. They didn't ask what any of us did for an occupation, if they had, they'd have known one of the people living in the house is a dog groomer who has groomed cats and another is a registered veterinary nurse
