Stewart's Something from the Weekend: Winter Warmer Weekend Off
I have been indulging myself on my weekend off but it has not been without its gardening themed moments. During Halloween I picked my little pumpkin and now was the time I chose to put it to good use as a winter warmer soup. It was only big enough for 2 servings so I had to slightly amend the measurements from the recepie I chose below but, "My My", it tasted gorgeous all the same.

It's Remembrance Day on Sunday and also this year is the centenary of the end of the 1st World War. £1 for every Gardman Ltd glass poppy bird bath sold and 50p from every poppy bird feeder will go towards the Royal British Legion and as always we are providing remembrance poppies at our tills too.

Visited The garden center and was delighted to find a wonderful selection of lighting is now available from Cordelia Jade Lighting . The Lady who served us, Sadie, was very knowledgeable, and helpful. We placed an order for some bedside touch lights and a ceiling light which arrived in stock very quickly and was fitted by Jeremy Craddock, Sadie's husband,an electrician as part of the sale package ! We would recommend Cordelia Jade lighting to anyone, fantastic service, excellent quality of products at very fair prices! What more can you ask for . Definitely an asset to Milton Ernest Garden Center!

Lovely Garden center always has what i need very helpful staff and good offers to look out for each time. lovely restaurant where the afternoon tea is fab and there scones warm from the oven nothing better :) and my local so even better

It's always a pleasure visiting Milton Ernest Garden Centre . The staff are very friendly , knowledgeable and helpful . The cafe is very good value and offers a good variety of food. I can definitely recommend the afternoon tea !!!!!

I live in northwestern Louisiana, USA, and about 2 1/2 years ago, Ms. Claire Wilkes and Ms. Amber Murray assisted me in purchasing some York-themed tea towels (from their gift shop) I intended to give as Christmas presents. This was hardly a major matter in their day-to-day business but the purchase was made and the merchandise was received by me promptly and in good condition. I have remembered their service ever since. I hope to conduct some other long-range business with the Garden Centre again in the future. Thank you, Joe R. White, Jr.

I came to visit with my 2 sisters in May of this year, our mum Chris used to work for Mo at the original garden center, we used to live in the little white cottage at the centre of the village, it was lovely to visit the village and the garden center, we bought lots of lovely things, and the cakes in the coffee shop were delicious xxx

I call in at the MEGC cafe when cycling in the area and my little group always enjoy it. The friendly, helpful staff and excellent choice of food and drink make our visits something to look forward to. Thanks

Good, all round, garden centre with all the things needed for a glorious garden!

Fantastic place to spend a few hours. Great plants, comprehensive and extensive art supplies, pet shop, fabulous gifts and clothing. They even have a framing service! The coffee shop is fab too and prices reasonable. Delicious baked potatoes and big portions. Ticks ALL my boxes

Best garden centre ever it not to far for people in near by villages to get to just a 5min drive

My friend wanted a garden mirror and found one exactly like she wanted in your garden centre. I love to come here for lunch with my daughter on a Saturday and the cheese scones are to die for.� Always look out for Tallulah when I visit too.

The Café is expensive and I hate being able to see all the kitchen staff working behind the scenes - it's only place I know that does that so it just seems weird. But, the food is good and they are all nice people. I love the Art Supplies section. In Summer its lovely, winter its rather more sombre than other garden centres I visit. So its a Good garden centre and I often pop along.

I didn't like the food in the Glass Unit door being open and a fly buzzing around in it

Received two money off vouchers from Milton Ernest Garden Centre in the post but when we presented them at the check out we were told in a casual way that because of a printing problem and they were not being honoured. That is sharp practice and we expect better from Milton Ernest Garden Centre. Come on Mo you have turn your problem into the customer's problem. Not happy at all.
