Milton Mains Holiday Cottages Description
Milton Mains Holiday Cottages are a group of family run self catering cottages situated in Milton, near Brampton, Cumbria (postcode CA8 1JD). Each cottage has been converted giving them a fresh and contemporary finish whilst preserving many original stonework and beam features. Every cottage has its own wood-burning stove and all the amenities to make this relaxing break a home from home, with endless outings possible from your doorstep; including to nearby Hadrian’s Wall, The Lake District, Pennines and Scottish Borders. The market town of Brampton is just 2 miles with a good range of shops, whilst the Border City of Carlisle is just 10 miles. There are many footpaths including Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn Country Park just 3 miles where you can enjoy walking, running, sailing, rowing, an ice cream or bite to eat in the tea room or enjoy a picnic by the tranquil shores of the tarn. To relax at the end of the day there is also the availability of shared hot tub use (at £40 /week or £20 /short break) - perfect for easing those tired muscles after a day exploring. A wonderful place for a Cumbrian break at any time of year.

The Barn, 6th April 19: "Beautiful place. So comfortable, we wanted to take the beds home. I could spend all day in the hot tub. Good location to go to see the lakes and to pop into Scotland"

"This is a warm and welcoming cottage, it provided all the mod cons but cleverly retained many of the original features which made it very easy to live in, and catered for everything. The owners have thought of everything and provide good quality accommodation, they are very informative about the area and made us very welcome. They even let us help with the lambing which was a pleasure. I would return to the cottage as it is perfectly located for a number of destinations all within an hour which gave us a great flavour of the area. We were able to take our dogs and this made it a great holiday. Thank you"
The Byre, 16th March 19 "We came last year for a long weekend and liked it so much we booked up again as soon as we got home! Lovely little cottage, owners very friendly and welcoming. Enclosed garden great for the dogs and location is perfect."

Really good video for people that are scared of cattle on public footpaths through livestock fields. (NOTE: please be aware that young calves with their mothers and bulls are dangerous, so this advice may not hold. Never walk between calves and their mothers, avoid fields with bulls and cattle may come to investigate a dog on a lead without you running)🐂🐄
The Byre is one of our beautiful 2 bedroom cottages. Child and pet friendly, free wifi, hot tub & summer house (shared), open fire (stove) & off road parking. Perfect if you're after a relaxing break
