Thich Nhat Hanh’s Web of Life. (Look at our star shaped web, which happened by mistake!)⭐️ Although this was the last class of Term, we all remain connected through the experiences we’ve shared together. According to the kids, some of the best moments this term were: “the animal wheel game”, “bubble meditation”, “Mindful Crafts”, “singing”, “I spy game”... These are just some of the activities children enjoy at Mindful Kids. New term starts on January 14. Classes for 3-6yrs ...& 7-10yrs. Join us! 🌸

Beautiful Festive Mandalas - thank you @monkinya for sending these to me, the kids are loving them! 💗 I’m thinking that these would also be a brilliant addition to your Christmas Day dining table - a bit of calm on the big day is always a good thing!?💫🎄

Christmas Workshop /Gratitude Grotto: 14 amazing letters of thanks and good wishes for others less fortunate. Wonderful job kids! ⭐️❤️

Ho Ho Ho...🎅🏼 My latest stones...! Looking forward to painting festive stones with kids and parents at my son’s school Christmas fair tomorrow 🎄⭐️

1:1 session. This Mandala started off being very structured, with a clear pattern & order to it. Then after about 10 minutes it’s creator began to scatter the materials around, and ended up with this circular looking ‘nest’ Mandalas come in all different shapes and forms with varying outcomes. They can help release tension/stress...this amazing child seemed very calm after today’s experience...🌿

Sticks, bells, sparkly thread, & buttons all ready for Festive Crafts at our Christmas Workshop. All of our Crafts are not only fun, but they require the use of the hands and brain working together, thereby focusing and calming the mind 💫

Smiley Cards (an extension of our smiling meditation, inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh). I love these cards made by my 3-6 yr old class. Notice how one child has included her friend ‘Ana’ on her Smiley card. So genuine & adorable 😊

Thanksgiving Jar. Most of us say please & thank you without really thinking about it. Thanksgiving is a great opportunity to consider what we’re genuinely thankful for. In our family, we have a jar for this purpose! Write it, fold it, post it, and later read it and celebrate thanks with others. Happy Thanksgiving! 💗

And this is why Mindful Kids Camps are an outdoor experience! 🌿Being outdoors is vital for children’s health and development...”it allows kids to interact meaningfully with their surroundings. They can think more freely, design their own activities, and approach the world in inventive ways” (childmind.org)

Zen Master! Our little tiger, Scout photographed by my daughter 💗 There are so many benefits of owning a pet. Apparently just stroking a pet for a few minutes decreases the heart rate and can trigger the release of the bonding hormone oxytocin. Lucky to have this one 🐈

🙏🏻 Thank you to all parents who continue to support Mindful Kids. We are grateful! Really looking forward to what’s going to be a magical afternoon 💫

Replacing the chocolate advent calendars with a UNICEF Real Life Advent Calendar this year. By buying this inspiring calendar, not only are we helping children each day, but we can also teach our own children about compassion 💗I can’t wait for ours to arrive 💫🌟

Beautiful Kew Gardens 🍁Family time - connecting with Nature....so important especially when you live in a city. Research has found that just looking at a natural scene activates parts of the brain associated with balance and happiness...💫

1:1 session- Mind Jar, inspiration from Thich Nhat Hanh. An effective visual activity (I do with many different children) to demonstrate how our feelings & thoughts are constantly changing throughout the day. So many colours (feelings) here. The pink colour ("warm & content") is for "being here now" (with me!). Thank you so much M, it was a great session for me too 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thank you Queens Pk Mum's! 💫

In our classes, Camps & Workshops we teach children the joys of slowing down and using their Super Senses to notice things that may not have been noticed before (like these incredible leaves found in the park - they look hand painted!). Next Workshop is Sunday December 2nd. Please message for details 🍁

Looking forward to today's fireworks theme in class 💥I find it's often useful to offer some calming techniques (like this finger breathing) for those who aren't so enthusiastic about the loud bangs & bright lights we experience on the night...in the past my kids have done their breathing with our dog who was terrified of fireworks! 💥
