The steam train is rumbling down the track to Bishops Lydeard a very picturesque ride through the countryside.
Here in Minehead and the surrounding area we have an Arts & Craft month, starting with Somerset Art Weeks, Open Studios 20th - 5th Oct, to name a few Leo Davey Studio/ Gallery, Lucy Pearn, Zoe Bingham, Hilary Adair, Christopher Richards are all in Minehead so just pop into the information centre and pick up the booklet.

Tomorrow we have the Famous Paddle Steamer the Waverley calling at 9am at the Harbour and sailing along the coast to Ilfracombe and then to Lundy a trip not to be missed!!

Sunny with a slight breeze here at Minehead this morning, the bus has just left for a beautiful trip over the moor to Lynmouth along the coast road and the train is rumbling along the track!
In the area tomorrow we have lots going on, Blenheim Gardens have a Party in the Park starting at 10.30 - 5pm, Kids activities, stalls and live music.
Annual Garden Fete at Bicknoller starting at 2.15pm, Exford are holding there Flower, Produce, and Fete Show at 2pm, on the ... village green.

Here at Minehead it is sunny with a slight breeze, good weather for taking a walk into town and seeing the wonderful flower displays around the town. Call at the information centre that is located in the Beach Hotel, visit the Minehead Museum and have a cuppa at the beach cafe.
We have discounted book sale, and a we stock maps and various goods from the Local Exmoor producers. We also have a Lucky dip, kites and garden decorations all at reasonable prices especially for the c...hildren.
At the 'Old Vic' on the sea front we have a Sailing By Exhibition of boat inspired paintings, 11-5 daily.
Paddle Steamer Waverley is sailing from Minehead Harbour on Friday 29, leaving at 9am and back at 7.30, calling at Ilfracombe on its way to Lundy Island.

The weather today is overcast with light showers, perhaps a trip on the West Somerset Railway to Dunster, Watchet or Bishops Lydeard. A visit to Dunster and the NT Castle and village. Or visit the Exhibition on the Sea Front at the 'Old Vic' .

The weather eventually cleared and we have had a wonderful bright and breezy day. The Red Arrows have been and done a wonderful display along the sea front at Minehead, also we had a Spitfire and a Bomber!! along with the Red Devils parachute display team.
Triplets are playing at the Beach Hotel Tonight at 7.30pm.
On Thursday the Continental Market is on Warren Road from 9am-5pm. Les Miserables Schools production, at the Regal Theatre 7.30pm, Somerset Nightingales to perform at the Jubilee Gardens Tea room at 2pm.

Weather not so kind today windy and overcast, just right for walking some of the Coastal Path which starts in Minehead on the esplanade. Call into the Beach Hotel and have a coffee and a bun, visit the information centre and pick up a leaflet that tells you all about the summer festival which starts tomorrow through to Sunday, also visit the Minehead Museum.
Take a ride on the 300 bus to Lynmouth and see the heather in all its glory plus marvellous views over the Exmoor Na...tional park.
