💚 Today is 999 Day. This is important advice that all paramedics wish parents WOULDN’T do:
💚 Assume their car seat is fitted correctly - Please get your car seat CHECKED. Most places that sell them do free checks.
... 💚 Serve grapes whole - All grapes need slicing in half lengthways - preferably quartered. Grapes are one of the most common causes of choking.
💚 Put off getting First Aid trained - The first few minutes following a medical emergency can be the most important. Knowing that you can give correct first aid to your little ones whilst waiting for an ambulance can only give you peace of mind.
💚 Have more than one person on a trampoline - This one isn't so well known. Firstly, trampolines are not suitable for children under six. Secondly, take turns, one at a time! 60% of injuries occur when more than one person is on the trampoline. The person weighing less is five times more likely to be injured.
💚 Leave your cup of tea within your child's reach - This one seems obvious but toddlers and children the the UK are burned and scalded every day. Remember to regularly check just how high and how far your child can reach.
