We had our Christmas meal here on 9th December 2017. There were 17 of us. The food was amazing. As soon as we arrived, drinks orders were taken. The service from the waiters and waitresses was prompt and efficient. The meze we arranged was suberb. The meat was tender and there was more than enough for 16 men seated at the table. We were all happy and left with full tummies.

We are so happy that we ate there Sunday..We had been let down at another restaurant, being told that over half the menu wasn't available & we were actually sitting at the table...looked for another one that was close by...rang Mirrors & asked if they had a table for 10...was told to come along & we will get you all seated...did they ?? Yes they did...looked after us all royally...4 of our grandchildren were with us & they paid more attention to them than us !!!! Our food was absolutely spot on...no complaints at all...was served promptly & with care.....nothing was to much trouble...we will definitely become regulars...have allready booked for Boxing day...got no hesitation in recommending Mirrors.....5

I love this place. Friendly staff, couldn't do enough to help us and always with a smile.

Food was amazing.

If I could offer 6 stars I would.

I have been to Mirrors many times both in the quiet midweek periods and on a busy weekend where there was not an empty seat in the house. Service is good and the food is brilliant. The starters are so good do try not to fill up too much and save room for fantastic baclava and Turkish coffee. Hardest working manager you will ever see!

Fabulous food, great atmosphere and staff could not be more helpful. Will definately return.

Lovely restaurant, lovely decor. We have been on holiday to Turkey last year, and it really reminded us of the food and the restaurant we ate at there. Staff were really friendly. Only reason for not giving a 5 is we asked for side orders and had to ask twice where our side orders were, however saying that they didn't charge us for the side orders. Really nice would definitely eat there again. xx

My 3rd visit , food was really nice but had not finished our starters and they brought up

The main meal , the lady who served us think she was a supervisor as dressed slightly different was not very hospitable at all , never asked us if we were enjoying our meal and had an attitude , I deel with the public in my job and it was totally unprofessional. shame as spoilt my mums first visit !!

User

i know you shouldn't compare but i came here for a friend's birthday and you usually get complimentary bread and dips at other Turkish restaurants ,although they did give us some bread ,we asked for some more as there was 9 of us and felt there wasn't enough .The response from the waiter wasnt the best .The food was tasty nothing special nothing better than i had had more locally and at a more competitive cost.

Would not recommend this restaurant one bit..we had a party of 29 my daughter and her boyfriend went to pay for there meal and they tried to overcharge them by £20. One of the staff was the most rudest and miserable person I have ever been served by.. Talking to each other in turkish and pointing and talking behind our backs.. Sorry but it's the last time we go there... Very disappointed

User

Very disappointed in the service last night. We waited to be seated despite reserving a table, and then waited 25 minutes to order.

The starters came out at random, and some were forgotten. The chicken wings were raw, and instead of apologising, we were given some useless excuse about them having bones....really?

The mains were tasty, but we waited an hour from ordering (1.5 hours from arriving). A simple “sorry” would have been sufficient, but instead we were told that an hour is acceptable when it’s busy.

Always liked Mirror. Won’t be returning in a hurry. The stars are for the flavours only.

I have been to this restaurant several times before tonight and have always been completely satisfied, hence we cooked our Christmas meal here. There was a lot of us approx 30. The food was still good but the staff were very hostile and seemed not to be able to cope with the large number but there were only a few other people in the restaurant. I don't recall one member of staff all evening smiling at all. Intact they were so miserable and everything we asked for seemed an effort. My sister in law had her starters taken away whilst she was still eating, they don't even ask if you have finished, what was more laughable was when they done the same with her main course. They then brought the desert menus over and I said I would like a coffee and the look I got was unreal. Service was appalling which is a real shame as we had recommend this to all our friends to have our Christmas do here and it was embarrassing.

So we went to mirrors tonight in hornchurch and I all seemed to be going ok till the bill come in. We paid a deposit to book the table. If we didn't pay the deposit they wouldn't have taken the booking. Thought it was funny when they said put what ever u can down. But when we got the bill they didn't take the deposit off . And they stuck a £32 service charge. Now I will always leave a tip but to be told how much after not taking the deposit off was a insult. Manager said it was a mistake no one wrote down a deposit was taken but they done it to another 2 tables. I said to him it's not a mistake mate we wouldn't have the table other wise. This was all said quietly so no one else over heard my convo..... But then he decided to get in my face and start raising his voice saying we're not thieves. I told him not to raise his voice I'm trying not to cause a scene. After this we went some where else and other people heard us talking about it. They told us it's happened to them on Valentine's day. People check your bills as I'm sure there were some people who walked out of there tonight with out realising

I don’t quite know where to start with this review.

I came last week with my parnter and friends as one of our last meals out before I give birth in 6 weeks. We didn’t make a reservation as we initially wanted to go shish meze but unfortunately this restaurant was close for refurbishment.

Upon arrival the restaurant was fairly busy, we got a table without having to wait to long. As we were seated this was the only time we were asked if we wanted drinks, not once did our waitress come back to see if we wanted to order starters, be given bread etc. After half a hour waiting and trying to grab someone’s attention we managed to ask for some bread (most Turkish restaurants give this complimentary, and you don’t have to ask) and order our mains.

Another 30 minutes had passed and we had finished our bread and drinks, again trying to get someone’s attention to clear our table and order some drinks was near impossible, It was only when our mains were being served we managed to get our table cleared and drinks ordered. At this point we addressed our waitress and said that the service was incredibly slow and we had been in the restaurant over an hour and a half and only just received our mains and able to order our second round of drinks. Our waitresse response was “well did you book in advance” which we hadn’t, she then stated that tables who been booked in advanced get served before tables that walk in.

After eating our mains (chicken injected with lots of water) we again tried to get someone’s attention to get our bill and leave as the night was just ruined through constantly trying to get a drink or get some dips etc.

Finally we got our waitress and again addressed the problem in regards to service and how knowone had checked back to see how our food was, the bill had 10% service charge on it and when we stated we hadn’t received any service, because walk in tables don’t get this privage we asked for this to be removed. Another waitress then came to the restaurants defence saying that we must to stupid to see that they are busy. All we stated was everyone should get treated the same regardless of making a reservation or walking in. When my partner asked to speak to the manager/owner the owner shouted across to our table “I’ve done enough for them tonight”, this was in fact the only time he had made any contact with our table, my partner then questioned why he said that and he should not shout or point in his customers faces. The owner then continued to shout “just take there money and get out”. As this happened my partner asked the owner for a chat away from the crowd of diners to address this problem.

The owner wouldn’t do this as he has “a million pound business”, after we left the owner ran down the road after my partner to try and get him to come down the back of ally behind the restaurant to fight him. It took a 34 week pregnant women to stand up to this bully and tell him to leave us alone and stop antagonising my partner.

It’s obviously to say that we will never return to

this restaurant and if your looking for a good Turkish restaurant with friendly staff and good service then please go to shish meze.

Been a few times since opened and was very impressed first couple of times. Went tonight, found prices had escalated and you didn’t get the same as when it originally opened. I.e. one type of rice instead of 2 and the bread is different, awful!

But on top of that, the tomatoes looked mouldy. Not once did anyone come and ask how meal was.. when waitress asked if we wanted more drinks I pointed out the tomatoes, she asked if we wanted them changed! Too late! Asked for discount on bill but they refused as there wasn’t anything wrong with rest of food. Said it must have been ash! Not even offered a free drink! Very disappointed

User

Arrived at restaurant 8:20pm and asked if they had a table for 3 available. They said if we can wait 30 / 40 mins they will be able to seat us which was fine. We went for a couple of drinks down the road, came back at 9pm to be told they couldn’t seat us. Asked why and they continued just to say they cannot seat us. 40 mins wasted for a poor service & bad management. We’ll be sticking to Shish Meze
