Apologies to any and all customers present when the arrogant and obnoxious youth from a close by shop started a scene in our coffee shop at the service counter at lunch time today. He has been dumping their shop rubbish in the street against our doorway for several weeks now, which we or our staff have been removing. He did not like the fact that in due diligence we reported the offence to the council. The owner of the offensive dumping of rubbish at our doorway was unknown ...to us at the time.... that is until he came in demanding to know why we had a problem with it and why didn't we tell them! Dherrrr, that would be because we should not have to go around the street asking who the offender is, nor should we have to resort to going through another businesses rubbish sacks to find out. Any sensible person when caught out would just have picked up their rubbish and removed it instead of causing a scene in another persons business. That way they would have remained anonymous! It not rocket science is it.... Most local businesses, along with the council are trying to ensure the town centre is a pleasant place for locals and tourists alike. We ourselves have on occasion washed the front area to rid the street of gulls' mess, something I witnessed the staff at Bradley's Jewellers doing this morning. So why are some of us trying to keep the town clean and tidy whilst others think our streets, and our doorway are a dumping ground for their rubbish. Please show some respect. All that this youth achieved was to highlight the business responsible to a full and captive audience....... We have purposefully not named the business concerned as the owner himself is out of the country, but will discuss the matter on his return........

Went for afternoon tea yesterday for my birthday was beautiful. Loads to choose from defo recommend.

The best by far hot log fire and the best breakfast. cooked fresh well worth waiting for can be very busy at times but as they say good things are worth waiting for

Stopped for coffee and cake while shopping with a friend , so glad we did cakes to die for and reasonably priced too

Started today with the breakfast of champions. Crispy bacon sandwich (has to be super crispy), followed by some dark chocolate orange cheesecake, accompanied with a wonderful coffee. Fire was roaring and lovely and warm. Think the triple chocolate cheesecake will be in my next 'breakfast of champions'. See you soon :-)

Our regular place when ready for a spot of lunch when in Scarborough. Great service, great choice of fresh cooked food. Highly recommend!

Me and my friend went to Mr Milo's today for afternoon tea, it was my friends birthday so thought I would treat her . It was all amazing especially the little tarts so many different flavours and so decorative and everything was so delicious we go in quite often for coffee and cake and wouldn't go anywhere else . The Staff were very good and helpful. Thank you so much Tracy & Debbie

I visited here with my two children, my 5yr old Girl and my 2yr old boy, whose name is Milo. We were shopping just before Christmas and my Daughter asked if we could go to the place that had the same name as her Brother. Delicious coffee which I enjoyed, spiced fruit teacakes which my children loved and warm, friendly service from your staff. We were visiting family over Christmas and New Year and we will certainly come back to Mr Milo's during our next visit.

Had a lovely afternoon at Mr Milos today. The 3 of us enjoyed panini's, sausage muffin and drinks. Followed by a slice of gorgeous Ferrero Rocher cake,mint chocolate cheesecake and a lemon cake! We highly recommend Mr Milos for excellent customer service and fantastic food. Especially the new Ferrero Rocher cake now available!

Food is excellent. Well priced as well. Lovely friendly staff and a big bonus is they let well behaved dogs in too. Love it.

Come here once a week because the coconut milkshakes and frappes are gorgeous :) xx

Love this place! Food good, spacious and staff are not on your back to eat up and get out fast.

I normally love coming to this cafe as being lactose free they offer soya milk and it has a lovely atmosphere. However on this occasion I have never been spoken to or treated so rudely in my life the person who i assume is the manager is clearly lacking people skills. I had gone into town for some medication as I had an operation the previous day and felt unwell so thought id stop for a coffee and some food with my mum. I went to order a baked potato but due to the operation I couldn't eat the salad and coleslaw so asked for this to be on a separate plate - which i thought was a reasonable request as we had to pay for it anyway and that way my mum could enjoy it. The managers response was no that its possible it is a complete meal - this was all said in a very rude tone. If it wasn't for the lovely patient waitress who apologised for her managers behaviour me and mum would of walked out.

I am genuinely saddened by events this afternoon. Mister Milo's has for years been to us the best place to stop for lunch or coffee and cake while shopping in town. The food is good and the staff always friendly, polite and helpful. A shame then that the same can certainly not be said for the management. By nature I avoid confrontation but I will hold firm to my principles and today when other customers remarked on the proprietor's rudeness I felt obliged to approach her.



I met my daughter for lunch when she finished work today. She had some heart breaking news yesterday and was still reeling a little, so I wanted us to be somewhere familiar and comforting. We went to Milo's. We had a lovely lunch and had just started on coffee and cake. I was so glad that she seemed relaxed and at ease, she had settled sideways next to me on the settee with her leg on my knee. Possibly not completely appropriate but totally undeserving of the reaction of the returning proprietor/manager who on entering SHOUTED at my daughter as she passed us to "sit properly please this is a coffee shop"



By nature I avoid confrontation, but when I had taken a few moments to reflect and the people sitting next to us remarked on her rudeness I felt I had to say something. Big mistake. My quiet approach was completely railroaded with more shouting...my reaching out a hand to put on her sleeve in an attempt to quieten her was loudly proclaimed to be "assault in front of witnesses". She welcomed my promise to withdraw my future custom. All excellent customer service.



I said I would post a review on line, this was also welcomed and answered with a promise to respond. I will copy and paste this as my review but I think I already know what kind of response to expect..looking at similar reviews it appears this is not an isolated incident and not the first time her lovely and obviously loyal staff have been left to apologise for her. I fully expect to be shouted down on here in the same way I was shouted down in person. I just have one suggestion to make. Be kind always, everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
